amna warning warning to all smokers.................i am not talking/preaching to YOU...........but if you wanna listen thats ok too My addiction of "choice"??? has always been food i never smoked that being said ...... i get it that nicotene is some sort of chemical?? addiction that must be extremely hard to get rid of permanately we/you know the dangers of smoking quit now, avoid the christmas rush working on getting rid of smoking now before surgery - getting used to not smoking will be hard i can't imagine what you will be dealing with "won't power" for smoking and eating is one way to look at issues i won't pick up that cigarette ( or that brownie ) easier said than done i can see that you are a smart "cookie" you know you must/should stop smoking you will have a hard enough time dealing with your eating changes start dealing with the smoking issue sooner than later working on 2 addictions together will be hard, but you can do this!!! you made the wise decision to start taking care of your health/body by changing your eating habits, with the help of the sleeve you are starting your new life - getting healthy by losing weight feeling better about yourself/your appearance i KNOW you get a grip on the smoking situation it will be hard - but you can do it you also need/and have all that strength for your successful journey towards health, happiness with the sleeve good luck kathy

Am I a bad person for doing this and will it mess me up in the future?
ProudGrammy replied to Greeky83's topic in Food and Nutrition
Greeky how are you doing I see you are just starting your 3rd week PO when you or anyone asks a question, "we" gotta be honest - you need to know the truth don't misunderstand some posts - thinking people are being too hard/mean remember you are looking through a computer/monitor - and you can't see their lovely faces we can't see your beautiful face either but things do unfortunately get misunderstood sometimes we are all just trying to give you good info in your case, we're just telling you not to stray from your food plan all newbies especially should realize that 99.9999% of us are being helpful - like all the posts above many of us remember that we also experienced problems with eating/drinking and you/all of us deal with issues during this immediate process - through the rest of our heathier, happier, longer life things can be especially hard at first but we gotta keep pluggin' we must listen to our NUT - FOREVER!!!!! when they are "gone" and you can't speak to them anymore - you must always remember what they have told you, and follow those rules we're all here to listen to everyones problems/give advice/answer questions to the best of our capability the good thing is that we don't charge X dollar amount an hour!!!! but when anyone asks any specific medical questions - we're not professionals - check with your doc congrats on your 25 lb weight loss continued success kathy -

ProudGrammy replied to Huntingnurse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
actingnurse i see with your 76 lbs gone, you look wonderful!!!! you went through major surgery 5 1/2 months ago you've been so successful, you should be proud I get it/understand being upset/angry/discouraged I'm 99.9999% positive that you are NOT done losing weight!!!! you know the bit here about stalls, i know that doesn't help you any though 3 weeks stall + counting - the stall will break eventually your body might tell you enough is enough and won't let you lose more weight but for now you have more to lose - with lots to "GAIN" if i knew the answer to when your stall will break - i would run for GOD!!!! congrats on 76 lbs gone, gone, and gone forever good luck stay strong "God Grant Me Patience Just Hurry Up About It" -
any stats on death during/after the surgery?
ProudGrammy replied to ProudMama's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ProudMama i see you are about 2 weeks "old" you are still a virgin/newbie to the VSG board i'll give you an official greeting/hello/welcome i' hope you've realized by now that this board is great with support, help and answers from all of us wonderful people you have had good answers to your questions with stats et al its true complications/problems (maybe deaths too ) can happen BUT problems can happen with any surgery!! don't know what the stats are for obese people dying from their weight, and all their health issues that go along with obesity??? but I'm "pretty" sure that obesity deaths/stats are very high, much higher than those that have had WLS i'm sure that # is out there, and hopefully someone will tell "it" its understandable you are a little nervous, anxious, even "maybe" second guessing your pending surgery i will speak for myself and for 99.99% of others here by having surgery - taking care of YOU - your health, is the best thing in the world you can do for you and yours good luck on Tuesday speedy recovery -
To those of you who have been successful at Breaking a Stall !
ProudGrammy replied to WeeWers's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
WeeWers hi there - i see you are an "oldie" but a goodie too!!!!! I'm also a young at heart "29" year young lady hmmmm - how do i explain that to my 38 yr young daughter and grand-kids??? I keep mentally telling me myself that age is just a # we are both 59 - but i venture to say you are also 29 at heart!!!! ok, 'nough of pleasantries good words of wisdom coming from "above" posts, and the new posts i'm sure that will follow stalls happen to all of us the knowledge of that doesn't help you though changing this, upping that (Water, et al) will help a stall IMO by the time the your stall finely breaks, it could be with the benefit or this or that change or it could have coincidentally finally broke at the same time you've been working on changes the stall could just have finally run its course the most important thing i will say about those terrible stalls, you gotta "grin and bear it" like all of us "this too shall pass" I'm a eternal optimistic that things will work out good luck kathy "GOD Grant Me Patience - Just Hurry Up About It!!!!" -
Museum-Mama woohoo you are right it is a good day you are starting your new healthier, happier, longer life w/your new best friend the sleeve speedy recovery best kathy

Am I a bad person for doing this and will it mess me up in the future?
ProudGrammy replied to Greeky83's topic in Food and Nutrition
Am I a bad person for doing this and will it mess me up in the future? you are a wonderful person but you are not the smartest just this sec since you aren't listening to your NUT I know that you are usually extremely smart after all you found this board thus, you found me too!!!!!!!!! the good news is your life is just beginning - its not over but....... you need 1,000 whips with a wet noodle!!! you are getting a bunch of good tough love above!!!! telling newbies et al, "there there, all will be fine" well, i guess its ok to say, but you want/need good advice so you can succeed i can see that you are a smart chic - and you want to learn, follow the rules raise your right hand and say.........I Greeky do solomnly swear to ............. you know the rest all NUTS have different rules that we all must follow they all say different things, making them seem a little "nutty" remember - always follow your NUTS orders -if you dont'??? people have been shot for less on a good note (you need that too) watching sugar, carbs (you didn't mention water.... good for you 25 lbs down!!!!! way to go get back on that horse good luck kathy -

ProudGrammy replied to Sweetcarol238's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sweetcarol238 you said a "mouthful" Not always "peaches and cream" ok, ok - once again i took an extra silly pill this morning good that you realize that the sleeve work goes on, and on through the years-forever and a day you must keep following the rules you did while getting to goal, but a smart cookie like you, knows that Water, portions, et al being at goal for me, i continue to eat, drink, and get my Protein in (pr is the hardest for me ) sure, you can calm down a "bit" at times w/eating something but luckily/hopefully your sleeve will remind you to "knock it off" "it doesn't want to get sick" doesn't want your old habits back, with filling the tummy too often too much! Awwwwwwww Sweetcarol - you look great in your new pictures!!! i am closing my eyes and visualizing the new you, you look as good as you feel!!!! 127 lbs gone, gone, gone, down the toilet, FLUSH you look so small, i'm afraid i almost can't see you!!!! don't be afraid to eat, seriously, don't overdue , thats no good either take care bud kathy congrats -
