    HELP!

NikkiB it must be emotionally draining with your uncles health situation some/many (me too) NEWBIES think they can stretch their tummy 99.999999% of "us" know thats not gonna happen per NUT/surgeon you don't know how long you will be at your uncles - eat the best you can i see you are on solids, but might?? be hard to cook in a strange area??? buy yogurt, cottage cheese, Protein shakes - easy stuff like that baby bel cheese - some fruit whatever works for you at this time once you are home, you can go back to complete basics if you fear you overdid good luck kathy

    Need to increase calorie intake?!

miangr per your profile - i see you were sleeved June18th your starting weight was 312 you have successfully lost 41 lbs!!!! bringing you to the magic # of 271!!!!! WooHoo WooHoo!!!! party dance party dance Protein bars are yummy, they can have alot of calories, and carbs too on an occassion, having one is terrifice - terrific taste some/many (me) OP try and stay away from Protein Bars cuz they are so good, (kindof like candy bar?? )very addicting some people do adjust their calories when a stall hits - to shake things up a bit "assuming" I need to increase................. hmmmmm - i "assume" LOL you know what happens when you "assume" something??? You make an assssss out of you and me you are only 7 weeks PO discuss with your NUT your situation/concerns she is the only one that OFFICIALLY should direct you to your calorie intake many/most times - you just have to "ride" out a stall some people might change this or that about their daily routine, and the stall breaks but whose to say if these changes helped break the stall or the stall was gonna break on its own coincidentally the same time changes were made???? you are doing great with your weight loss 41 lbs!!!! OMG!!!! keep up the good work kathy congrats

    self doubt!

hopingtolose2013 "conditioned our brains for failure" as said by ShrinkingMom, unfortunately is a great/true comment you shouldn't fail with your weight loss as long as you follow ALL the sleeve rules to me, Water rules are the most important stop drinking 15-30 minutes before you will eat NEVER, EVER, EVER drink with your meals (people have been shot for less ) do not drink for 45-60 minutes after you eat drink as much H20 as you can (at least 64 oz) chew your food thoroughly eat veryyyy slowly helps if you put your utensil down after each bite eat Protein first measure your food 85% of your tummy is now gone!!!! the sleeve will help you/assist you to be successful BUT........you must work very very hard too!!!! work with the sleeve and the sleeve will work with you as far as gaining a couple of lbs here or there, there is always water gain that should/will come off measure yourself frequently - if you are not losing weight, its very possible/probable that you have lost inches "see" how your clothes feel/fit everyone/most/all of us go through stalls, some stalls can last a few days but i've seen them last much longer too (as in months ) don't frown and worry too much - you'll get wrinkles along with some "possible" lose skin!!! stay focused, positive and excited i know you can do this once you reach goal - remember.....your new eating/drinking habits are something you must keep forever and a day thats the MUST DO plan so you remain at your goal weight!!!!! and continue to live a healthier, happier, longer life 28 lbs gone!!!! OMG!!! keep up the good work good luck kathy congrats

    Sleevers by profession.

i have been a brain surgeon, astronaut, air force captain and fireman well, i always wanted to be in "real" life, i am happily married, mother, daughter, sister, retired clerical worker, volunteer worker most importantly. I am a.... PROUDGRAMMY!!! kathy
  13. my direct, simple answer no - i wouldn't date someone who was inactive, little heavy et al its sad that I admit this since we were always fighting the prejudice against heavy people that we received being new to maintenace - still being extra careful, sometime walking on eggshells............ i need to continue to be careful for the rest of my life but thats ok - i never want to become the old kathy again i wouldn't/couldn't want to be around any possible temptation FYI - DH and i were both heavy when we wed 22 years ago he doesn't have any desire to lose weight i do have to deal with some temptation - but he respects the fact i don't want any "bad" food around the house - chips, "oreos" for Laura good luck kathy

    Party

colcol its true that after you lose an amount of weight, as you get thinner - a drink might hit you like a ton of bricks all docs/NUTS have different rules one doc might tell you 6 weeks, another 6 months, another one year po great to hear responses from other people on the board for example - i think 7 weeks post op is too early to have a drink post surgery you could go around the party with a tall glass of Water witlh lemon (i know its not the same ) but............... you should always check with your doc/nut for any "official" answer to certain questions have fun good luck kathy

    OMG

lady congrats on receiving that wonderful, life changing phone call One thing all us sleevers have in common, is that we're all different!!! recovery, weight loss time period, tiredness et al - we all react differently many people go back to work very quickly, they feel fine as mentioned above -- other people need more time to recuperate as someone else suggested, request more time off than you might need if you feel fine - go back to work maybe starting with 1/2 day for a week if you are tired, little pain - stay home and rest!!!!! good luck with WLS speedy recovery kathy

    I wish I hadn't seen this forum....

Amy i see you had surgery one week ago today (8/1/13) how did it go???? hope things are moving along with out many problems having basic issues like gas, "alittle" vomitting, problems drinking Water - and being a little sore are all common i wouldn't count them as "complications" even though they make you feel bad - side effect from WLS - things hopefully will smooth out sooner than later ups and downs are to be expected - but you are on the road to a healthier, happier, longer life!!! since you started this thread with your understandable concerns - hope you reply telling us things are going well speedy recovery good luck kathy

    gain

fancy that is weird i agree with mokee that it usually works the other way around BUT......... maybe you shouldn't weigh yourself 2X a day??? the weight fluctuations can you/ will make you crazy!!! I do weigh myself daily - many OP don't like/suggest that!!! I say, "oh well, i'm gonna do it anyways!!! ) but of course i still love them good luck kathy
