  6. Any people with type 2 diabites had surgery? Started by Heather Meyer, Today, 1:57 AM Heather I saw the title above you posted i said to myself, "are you kidding me?" soooooo many people here unfortunately are diabetic (me, me ) many, many, many people's diabetes improves post diabetes - less insulin, meds but............in my case and many many other sleevers - diabetes is just a horrible "memory" I no longer take medicine for diabetes my high blood pressure is now extinct i've had epilepsy since i was 16 (don't tell anyone, but that was 43 years ago, our secret ok ) maybe an NSV too, since i feel better about myself - i realize theres no reason to be ashamed of an illness i couldn't controll getting I'm almost always controlled with my meds (many people aren't controlled, so i'm lucky) as i was losing weight, my doc reduced my dosage of meds - then by the time i was 105 lbs down - my meds are now cut in half from what i used to take that is an unexpected WONDERFUL NSV its like a baby wouldn't take the same dose as an adult..........or someone who weighs 130 lbs, will take less meds than someone who weighs 235 lbs its like a baby wouldn't take the same dose as an adult..........or someone who weighs 130 lbs, will take less meds than someone who weighs 235 lbs oh dear, i'm talking about myself not you repeating, your diabetes should/will drastically improve - if not disappear your on your way to enjoy a healthier, happier, longer life!!!! enjoy good luck with WLS speedy recovery kathy

    Do you think one slice...

Do you think one slice... eeeeeeeek, oh nooooooooo yet another pizzza question not laughing at you personal joke between me and a few hundred other sleevers btw at 3 months, 1 slice won't "kill" you - but its not as good for you as ............fill in the blank i would continue Protein first, then lottttttts of Water good luck ginger kathy
  10. deedee first off - woo hoo on your weight loss i'm sure you see a gigantic change with your clothes size (34 to 22!!!!) wow trying to speak "gently", i can only imagine how hard it must be to have to lose alot of weight you've done amazing - but you still have to lose more since you have unfortunately stalled (which you know we all do) it must be very mentally upsetting since you do have more to lose do to the fact you have stalled - you are probably feeling bad/upset and are eating that little extra junk that you know you shouldn't some, many have been there - upset, not losing enough - so we eat??? knock it off!!!!! i know you can turn things around you've proven how terrific you are, knowing how to follow the rules et al it can get discouraging losing lots of weight, knowing you have more to lose - but you will be successful!!! i can see the determination you have in your pretty face yes you have a lot on that plate of yours it must be overwhelming!!!! having a tooth pulled, closing on your house, moving, and going back to work after 4 years OMG - i don't know how many people could do that without feeling overwhelmed but you will pass this hurdle things will slowly get better - you will have closed on your beautiful new house you will successfully have moved, you will enjoy working again and that darn tooth will be gone look at all those accomplishments you will have done!!! glad you are "not hungry" - that must help but your hands get "lonely" and they want you to exercise telling you to lift hand, insert food STOP, STOP, STOP you can/will win this battle glad you haven't gained weight, sounds like you have gained insight i don't know what/how a vegetarian eats- can't help you on that situation if you want to go back to basics to give yourself a jump start on losing some weight - go for it!!! push, push, push everything you can/will do great i know you will get back into the proper old habits you have learned drink, drink, drink, and then drink some more glad that you come to the board for support - we're all out here for ya i see you are soooooo close to twoderland!!!! come on, come on - you are almost there - you can make it, i know you can!!!! good luck bud kathy

    Coffee?

Jessicaz my NUT told me i could have one cup of coffee a day its really weird though i always loved the smell of coffee (I would make it sometimes for DH) but i never drank much post sleeve - i find that i do have that cup since its nice and hot - it gives my "little" tummy a good feeling i drink plenty of Water later - and as mentioned coffee not a diuretic I reread your post - and i see you are allowed to drink it, just don't overdue i think thats good advice to follow if we don't listen to our NUT - OMG i shutter to think what could happen to us good luck newbie kathy
  15. buplee I wish i had kept my old picture my DH (his name is tom)needed to go to DMV - i had reached goal and i said to myself "hmmmm, maybe i'll get a new license to show the new and improved me " gave my old license to the guy at the counter told him my weight story, he went to get a lady, turned out she also had the sleeve it was great talking to her - comparing stories little off topic i didn't tell anyone about my pending WLS except immediate family I didn't know how people would react my paranoia crept in saying will people be watching my every bite, and when and how much weight i have lost - didn't want to go there Now i tell everyone proudly about my WLS - people love hearing the story - no one judges, i just hear nice things i've told everyone except the lamp post on my corner hmmmm, maybe after this post i'll go outside and tell it toooo kathy

    Observation

jillian i know where you are coming from i was at the mall today - seemed like everywhere i turned - someone was eating this fast food or that carmel corn, chocolate everywhere, ice cream - many other things too I'll see "big" people eating sooooooooo much to me though - i truly feel sad i remember a couple of years ago - "that" person was me i can relate in seeing other large people can/will give you the motivation not to eat good luck with your surgery speedy recovery kathy

    Sliders

TinyTerry A slider is something you can eat easily without making your tummy feel full Popcorn is a slider for me. (you are too early PO - don't have any popcorn til doc gives the ok) anyways, they have those small individual bags that have 100 calories each i'll have a bag once in a while, (thats ok) - but then i make another bag - and i have even done 3 bags at a sitting ok, ok guys - my big confession for the day ahhhhhhhh, thats a load off my shoulders another big slider for me are pistachio nuts (i'm a little nutty anyways ) they are good for you - 28 would make a serving welllll.....i've indulged in quite a few more than that i've basically stopped eating both of the above - too easy for me to keep eating - don't want to tempt myself, keeping that stuff around in moderation (as anything) both popcorn and pistachios are fine but old habits can die hard, knowing i/you can't control ourselves over a certain food is 1/2 the battle i choose not to have any around your comment/quesion about shakes (Protein?) being a slider "amuses" me some people like the shakes (not me) but the concern that shakes are a slider???who would want to drink too many of those? good luck 32 lbs down lookin' good newbie kathy congrats
