honeyg317 sure is overwhelming you have already started - and you are headed on the road to a healthier, happier, longer life everything you've learned so far..from your NUT/doc.............listen, listen, listen, then "obey" all the rules!!!!! practice stopping drinking about 15 minutes before you eat never drinking with your meal not drinking for about 45 minutes after you eat drinking at least 64 oz of H20 a day practice eating slowly chewing thoroughly to pieces little bites putting utensils down between bites continue to stay excited/later anxious nervous prior to WLS - good emotions do your exercises per doc lose the necessary 10 lbs really important............. realize you must be patient through your weight loss - people lose at different rates, and some/most/ALL people will have stalls do what you are supposed to do.........the weight can't help but come off good luck with pending surgery speedy recovery kathy God Grant Me Patience, Just Hurry Up About It

ProudGrammy replied to jen14's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
jen14 you don't have a ticker or profile (hint, hint ) don't know your starting weight when people have lllllots of weight to lose..... "maybe" example of 125 lbs and up to lose "please no one yell at me about that # i just threw in the air " sometimes initially the weight can/might come off quickly, then the loss will slow down to a "normal" amount only eating 3 tbsp 3 times a day???esophogas bothering you like somethings stuck??? at 5 weeks i think you should be able to eat more talk to your NUT/surgeon get things checked out with the doc great on the weight loss.............. good luck kathy -

Measures, Measures, Measures
ProudGrammy replied to Bea Amaya's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Bea I also weigh every morning it works for me i also like to be aware of fluctuations especially if a couple of lbs up stays for more than a couple of days i will then nip the excess couple of lbs in the bud i think a lot of people weigh daily luv your spreadsheet it keeps you on your toes, working with your weight loss - seeing the figures whatever works for you, (or anyone) thats what counts!!! you might be a "little" obsessive , ( so am I, "probobly others too!!) but i'm not gonna report you 39 lbs down and counting keep up the great job kathy congrats -
LisaDM love those surprises we sometimes receive from OP sometimes WE expect the worst from others son of a gun, turns out we can be "pleasantly" mistaken "hope for the best, but plan for the worst" BTW.................... I made a mistake once - I thought I was wrong!!! enjoy your couple of months off post WLS plenty of rest and sssssips of Water et al good luck speedy recovery kathy

Well, I guess this is going to be my gastric sleeve story.
ProudGrammy replied to EllijayFalconFan's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Ellijay WooHoo You did it!!!! sorry about your gas issues You are doing the right thing by walking, and then walking, and walking some more that will help alot sorry you are in some discomfort since you JUST had WLS, you hopefully/should start to feel improvement hour by hour - then definitely each day will be better you have a lot to "take in" - new rules, drinking, moderation, eating slowly, chewing thoroughly many new things all NEWBIES have to remember - but it will be worth it Water, WATER, WATER and then more water - all the water rules are very, very important right after surgery, for a few days, water is more important than Protein get as much water as you can (taking small sips) - if you have no problems with the shakes, thats great but if you are having "issues" drinking the shakes, getting your protein in - don't worry can't tell you enough that water is the most important thing you don't want to get dehydrated (it happened to me ) then you have to go back to the hospital for IV's i can see the determination and strength in your eyes follow your NUT's direct instructions - always, but basically........ don't eat for about 1/2 an hour before you eat a meal never drink while you eat don't drink for about 45-60 minutes after you eat then start over and drink all day, at least 64 oz you, and everyone else hopefullly/probably knows this - but worth repeating you are on your way to a healthier, happier, longer life!!!! good luck youngun speedy recovery i'm raising a "prtoein" shake to your health kathy -
Velexia83WELCOME WELCOME glad you've "checked" us out and decided to join our "club" Never can have too many smiling faces look, learn and listen lots of great info "enjoy" jumping through all the hoops to hopefully get approved by insurance you are on your way to a healthier, happier, longer life enjoy the ride good luck kathy

mrsrichardharrow there are only two guarantees in life death and taxes "we're" all biased on the sleeve board - saying that the sleeve is the best WLS the sleeve IS the best of course, thats why we're here silly head malabsorption problems go hand in hand with the bypass other problems too you can & many do stretch their pouch 85% of our stomach has been cut out of our lives with the sleeve their are different discussions, but my NUT/surgeon say that you cannot stretch your sleeve unless you graze all day, eat soooo much continueally - you will vomit get sick the "stretchy" part of the stomach i was told was "cut" out some/many/most sleevers/NUTS/surgeons go along with this theory of course you have to totally follow all the "rules" of eating, moderation, chewing - eat slowly - and of course Water, WATER, WATER anything will fail if you don't do what you are supposed to do i can see you are a smart "cookie" please don't 2nd guess yourself now you will love the sleeve it will be the beginning of your new, healthier, happier, longer life good luck kathy

Did you keep a "before" outfit?
ProudGrammy replied to Catherine707's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Did you keep a "before" outfit? Started by Catherine707, 48 minutes ago no after goal (105 lbs down), i went to Kohl's where i always bought my 2X blue jeans i knew exactly where to go in the plus size to find the jeans i picked up the 2X i always bought "standard jeans" type with elastic waist band took into the changing room, put on over my "new and improved" size 4 i just stared at myself in shock and sadness i realized what i used to look like but thats "behind" me I then bought the jeans they will always hang in my closet as a reminder only looking forward - enjoying my healthier, happier life Catherine - 57 lbs down woo hoo happy dance, happy dance keep up the good job congrats -

ProudGrammy replied to slikchik10's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
slkchik10 nice, very true sound advice for all especially NEWBIES kathy -
Markyjr 50 lbs does sound like alot , but if thats what the doc wants.......... 20 lbs down woo hoo!!!! 30 lbs to go you are almost 1/2 way there!!! i know you will do your best!!!! docs want people to lose weight before WLS - it helps shrink your liver doc wants to see that you are sticking to a program - and you are working very hard to lose weight then he will see that you really want the WLS, and you will be successful with your journey i have confidence in you that you will lose 30 more lbs but - IF you can't lose all the necessary weight, but come close, probably/hopefully there won't be a problem i can see the determination in your pretty eyes do the best you can/and thhen some!!! good luck kathy
