What happens if i follow all the rules?
ProudGrammy replied to readyforchange101013's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
DKeeton only a small % of people have major complications with surgery the people you know of/hear about that had issues - their situations stick out in your memory you don't hear the many, many, many, most stories of all the successful, wonderful surgeries there are links to threads with people posting their success stories hopefully someone can send you their (don't know how to) it happens to the best of us, that someone might cheat here or there of course its not good..........but we've had "issues" most of our lives - and unfortunate slip ups can/do happen - briefly "very nicely" confirming that you aren't judging anyones behavior with food since you haven't been in our shoes yet - haven't had WLS yet people will follow all the instructions per doc/NUT - but they still will have post op problems like gas, some vomitting et al people do get leaks too - not their fault (please please OP - didn't mean to scare you) i'm sure "none" of you will have a leak (if i have anything to say about it) after you have had the surgery, you still might get sick with your eating / problems drinking things can/do happen sometimes - even when you follow all the rules say things are going a long well for you - follow all the important Water rules, chewing, eating slowly, exercise too you should/will win in becoming a loser since you are determined to follow all the rules for "the rest of your life" - you shouldn'/won't gain any weight things can get a little harder as you are in maintenance, but then again they will be hard while you are getting their too nothing/most things aren't always easy - even when you follow all the rules good luck with WLS speedy recovery kathy -
I'm not proud of this....but....
ProudGrammy replied to HoosierGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
HoosierGirl i found a new trigger and slider food Pistachio nuts i've led a sheltered life until a few weeks ago, i never had tried a PN I bought a rather large container ate a WHOLE bunch - they were gone in 3 days!!!! when i eat too much - my face and i get red and very hot i don't get vomitting sick - but i feel awfulllllllllll which does help to remind me not to do again no more pancakes for you, and i'll have no more pistachio nuts (sob, sob) 75 lb weight loss!!!! keep up the great job!!! (i know you will ) good luck kathy -
nikkoal sorry about you having a pic line glad this is over - and you ARE moving on good for you!!! you sound great - so way to go after an unfortunate time period People are often afraid of the unknown were you having problems vomitting - that could scare anyone from eating you are in the "soft" phase you can have cottage cheese, yogurt, cheese as soft foods tuna fish is considered a soft food you can be cautious about adding foods into your daily menu, but gotta be brave you will be on solids sooner than later, once again you need to introduce new foods 39 lbs down!!! great sorry you had problems - "causing" you to be successful in your weight loss malnutrition, unable to keep fluids in sounds like you have a good attitude smooth sailing ahead good luck kathy

Can anyone point me to a list of local Support Groups
ProudGrammy replied to ItsMe2033's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Can anyone point me to a list of local Support Groups ItsMe2033 I never heard of a link to different support groups if you had WLS at X hospital, check with their schedule for a support group or ask your NUT/surgeon if you had your sleeve out of state, ie Mexico............... IMO you can still check with any hospital around you, tell them your situation they "hopefully, should" be helpful 55 lbs down party dance, party dance keep up the good work good luck kathy -
monique78 Yippeeeeee glad things are moving along well keep on drinkin' good luck on your road to health, happiness and a longer life kathy

When is a goal too excessive?
ProudGrammy replied to Fit2btied's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Fit2betied low end of the totum pole for your weight goal???? 131-167?? quite a range!!!! if that lower #is the lowest of your range, shouldn't be a prob to be there but - your body should/will tell you when you shouldn't lose any more weight you don't want your new and improved face/body to be toooo skinny and straggly get a goal # if you like I will tell you definitely/probably/possibly your weight goal # might change over time good luck kathy -
MLG Whatever your surgeon/NUT tells you - DO IT!!!! unless.................. they tell you take a long walk on a short pier I'd question that good luck kathy

Cheeree "maybe" since you are only 4 weeks PO??? NUT doesn't want you to have PB?? as bigsleeve56 said "its a slider" i have chosen not to eat PB - its too delicious - little bit of a trigger but............my NUT/and it sounds like others too............do permit PB if "your" NUT says no about the PB - oh well, gotta follow her orders but...............i would still ask her why the heck you can't have PB good luck kathy

amyon2wheels 2 great things about your post you are proudly showing off your 200 weight loss showing newbies et that they can/will be successful with their weight loss you are also honestly admitting that anyone can gain weight but you are wisely nipping your weight gain in the bud newbies et al need to be aware that this is a life time journey once you achieve goal - you must continue to follow all the rules forever, and ever or you might/will gain weight back amy you know what to do, i'm sure you will lose those nasty 20 lbs, and once again reach goal then.............. as OP need to realize, they must continue to eat and drink properly for the rest of theif healthier, happier, life good luck kathy congrats -
