Tomorrow is the big day!
ProudGrammy replied to GingerSlim's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@GingerSlim realize the fact that even though 85% of your tummy has been removed from your body............ you have to do alot of work too the expression "you work with the sleeve, and the sleeve will work with you" "some" people think that WLS will occur, and thats the end of their problems not gonna happen that way stalls also happen to most of us you might not lose any weight at different times for a couple of weeks but this too shall pass many people think the weight will come off VVVVery quickly it does come off, for some people slower/faster than others you/we didn't put the weight on overnight, not gonna come offf overnight too "God Grant Me Patience, Just Hurry Up About It " many rules to follow you look like a smart "cookie" i know you can do it!! the Water rules are very important (in case you don't know all of them) stop drinking about 15-30 minutes before you eat NEVER drink with your meals/any food after you eat you MUST wait 45-60 minutes before you drink drink at least 64 oz of water a day also eat Protein first (chicken etc. that will make you fulll quicker) take small bites, and chew one million times before you swallow use a small plate and small utensils put utensil down between bites for a couple of minutes always measure your food keeping track of all your food is great (you can do this on MFP for example) walking is a great exercise PO slowly do more exercises everything i mentioned should be discussed with your doc/NUT THEY are the ones you need to follow listen to us for advice, support - but the doc/NUT have the final word many/most docs have different rules, different approaches PO with surgery (concerning the food phases, how much to eat, how long you wait before and after to drink) ok, "lecture" over, hope i didn't scare you or anyone nice vibes being sent your way for tomorrow (any every other day too) good luck speedy recovery kathy -

What is wrong with me?
ProudGrammy replied to ohiovsg's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
@@ohiovsg why are you trying to test yourself, and see how much you can eat? as everyone else says, you don't/won't feel any tummy restriction til you are done with the liquid phase then mush, pureed, soft - and finally solids important not to rush into anything with your food order/process you have the rest of your life to eat real food wait a few weeks to successfully follow the above remember you just had major surgery be nice to your poor little new tummy good luck kathy -
Fallen off the wagon and can't seem to get up
ProudGrammy replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@ hey cutie this is a hard process (but you knew that!!) sorry you are having difficulties good for you on continueing with your exercise high expections are great, but they must be realistic too we are all different in our weight loss, time it takes to lose etc "the only thing we have in common is that we're all different" don't ever compare yourself with others (weight loss etc) you said you started to throw the towel in a few weeks ago, eating whatever you wanted but, be honest with yourself after WLS, how was your eating, drinking etc "if" you ate stuff that you shouldn't have...........knock it off!! but no use dwelling on the past..gotta move forward and don't look back you are starting over again i would strongly advice a week of Protein shakes to give you some extra weight loss that should put a smile on your face if you hate/really can't drink Protein Shakes - at least drink lots of Water, eat soft foods etc i can see you are a smart cookie, and you know what/how to eat, and what to do eat dense protein first, that fills you up better eat very slowly at 2.5 years, i still use small utensils, and a small plate at home take small bites, put your utensil down, and chew food to a million pieces!! stop drinking about 15 minutes prior to eating never drink wih your food (people have been shot for less) wen wait 45-60 minutes after you eat, til you drink again drink a minimum of 64 oz of water a day (the above #s are via my NUT, listen to whatever YOUR nut tell you) if you start/continue the above rules et al - you can't help but lose weight (that goes for anyone thats reading this) as all the wise people above have said - start to use MFP religiously write everything down if you eat something "bad" write it down!!! later hopefully you'll look at the piece of cake or brownie saying something like "I shouldn't be eating that!" at some point you and everyone WILL be able to eat alittle bit of most foods but not yet!! I'm extending my arms to you on the floor pulling you up its much easier for me to do that now that you are 36 lbs down i have confidence in you as everyone says, the sleeve is only a "tool" in the world of weight loss you work with it and it will work with/for you!!! PLEASE get back to work - we ALL know you want/and can be successful!! why are you reading this, you should be preparing you dinner lecture over GOOD LUCK kathy -

only person taking stairs, others took the elevator. @@Limacina too cute Welcome to our "humble" little group you are a newbie, yet you are already posting cute/funny thoughts!!! OMG - to all the rest of "us" better watch out for her if physically able, ALL people should walk up stairs as frequently as possible you walking up/down those stairs - shows that your mindset is preparing for your new life with the sleeve (I'm biased, but IMO the sleeve is the way to go!!) you have a great attitude keep walking UP those stairs while your weight goes DOWN good luck speedy recovery kathy -
Sleeved on Thursday July 10th and very sore
ProudGrammy replied to Ima1020's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@Ima1020 dear "wimpy" sorry you are sore, but its only been 3 days!!! your poor new tummy has been through the ringer so have you "USUALLY"/hopefully you will start to feel better each day, one day at a time but, you "might" be someone that takes "alittle" longer to heal/feel better repeating though, you are only 3 days PO - gotta give things time "God Grant Me Patience, Just Hurry Up About It!!! " there have been some threads concerning other people that had wonderful feelings/no problems after surgery BUT, you/me usually hear the sad/bad tales about different experiences people hurting here and there feel better, soon, rest, sleep, pamper yourself right now YOU are the most important person around (except me of course ) put yourself on the front burner!!! good luck speedy recovery kathy -
Surgery scheduled July 25
ProudGrammy replied to Bishop James Long's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@ Welcome, Welcome to Sleeveland we are all wonderful people, (especially me!! ) Surgery one week from Friday!!! you must be so excited, nervous, apprehensive, but hopefully most excited these different emotions pre-op are common to some/most of us prior to surgery do not buy toooo much of the Protein shake (enough for these 2 weeks of course) frequently tastes we have will change after surgery don't stock up on the shakes, because you possibly might not like the taste/ flavor after surgery hope you've been exploring/reading the boards since you made the wise choice of having the sleeve (I could tell yoiu are smart as a "cookie" ) the first couple of nights, then weeks can/might be difficult, later ups and downs BUT hopefully/probably most/all will go terrific i know you will be very successful good luck speedy recovery kathy -

@@meme2you as with many other people - you have put yourself on the back burner while raising your kids i "think" we all get that but...............its time to look out for #1 (thats you silly head ) when someone is not covered with insurance - that is awful $400.00 or $40,000.00 might be hard to reach, but try your body/clothes sizes will continue to change as you lose weight many, many, many people seek out thrift shops to buy their clothes doesn't make sense to buy anything expensive to only be able to wear briefly you made the wise decision to have surgery (sleeve, bypass??) don't second guess yourself now hope you can work this out so we can see you at the front of the line where you belong good luck kathy
