@@skylarkx hi there sorry you've been experiencing some problems it takes everyone different time periods to recuperate so at 3 weeks PO - there are people who are your in your boat, not that that helps you any you should be counting your Protein shakes with your other liquids like Water at only 3 weeks - water is essential (but you know that) always make sure to get your water in at this early point - protein next later, water will continue to be essential (so you don't get dehydrated) as far as your "lack of energy" that can also be par for the course very important for all newbies and others....... you should always listen to your dr/NUTS advice first!! they are the professionals who you entrusted with your life the board members are here to give support, some of their own experiences, give suggestions - we are very smart but they are not your dr (i do know there are many smart nurses here - but listen to your doc first) thats what they would probably say too in other words to FINALLY answer your question "are" you dehydrated"? I'm not sure try to drink more, call you doc and see what he says i hope you can get some well needed rest sweet dreams feel better Good luck Kathy

@@katonaboat that is funny sadly,. this day and age, everything out of the norm has to be questioned i'm sure you know that too (thats why you posted this as being funny ) did they throw the book at you by telling you that you MUST drink Protein drinks for the next year? Oh no that is a punishment worse than death kathy -

ProudGrammy replied to IM.ON.MY.WEIGH.DOWN's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
@@IM.ON.MY.WEIGH.DOWN many people (like me) have no problems during or after surgery others have a few "common" side effects i.e gas, being very tired, not being able to hold food or water down Sadly, there are many other people that have more severe problems like you if you go to the MAIN board you will find a separate thread called Gastric Sleeve Complications Support Group you can discuss things with others that have experienced issues during/after surgery its good to be able to discuss things with others in the same boat Its unfortunate that there are there are enough people to form such group hope that things get better sooner than later best of luck kathy -
@@jjinWA good for you on losing 30 lbs OMG we all need to lose the word ONLY from our vocabulary there is no such thing as losing ONLY X amount of weight all weight loss is great the "average" amount of weight people lose monthly is "about" 10 lbs some lose a little less, others lose a little more there is no EXACT amount of weight everyone will lose weekly, monthly you should keep track of your measurements periiodically there are times that your "weight Loss" shows up more with decreasing measurements, not the # on the scale the "comment" here on the board is, you didn't go to bed one night carrying an extra 100 lbs, you won't wake up the next morning minus 100bs keeping track of your food on for example MFP (my fitness pal) is wonderful you will then see those carbs, Protein et all add up you are 2 months PO - and IMO you are doing great keep up the good work for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life good luck kathy congrats

@@Nychkole2 the above is very true all of us WLS have that engraved in our minds (i might have that put on my tomb stone!!! ) - not yet though liquids/water are more important than protein at your early stage if you temporarily are having trouble keeping shakes et al down........... push other fluids/water don't get dehydrated many of us have experienced that (me too ) fluids/water/popsicles are great for now if you are having other problems 10 days PO - you have alot of company with others in the same boat as you are (please don't sink ) being tired - finding a good shake for you, not feeling good in general - common for many hopefully these things will pass sooner than later you are on the right tract for a great new life lets give your recovery a kick in the asssss good luck kathy

Any fellow Dec. sleevers maintaining?
ProudGrammy replied to Ava324's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@Ava324 117 lbs lost!!!!! (don't look at me I didn't take them ) it took you only 8 months to lose that weight!! (some pre-op??) that's terrific!!! the last lbs can take a little longer to get off hopefully you'll "probably"/maybe get to goal by your one year surgiversary "unchartered territory" - good way to put it i was heavy since my teen years my mom always "reminded me in case i forgot!!! I was turning 57 years OLD 2 weeks PO now i am 60 years YOUNG i wasn't especially "anxious"/nervouse prior to goal i knew things were going well, and i would get there sooner than later As the goal # was approaching - i was getting excited By the way I had WLS December 2011 - goal one year later fluctuate alittle, but maintaining "God Grant Me Patience, Just Hurry Up About It good luck - goal will happen 117 lbs gone!!!! kathy Congrats -
since i was a teenager my mother always continueally "commented" on my weight "situation" i see a therapist about various things in life - mom and weight go hand in hand sometimes as i've said before - according to my therapist "1/2 the world sees a therapist - the other half should" my 4 siblings were of good average weight my mom was always dieting (she was small/thin) when i told my mom about the WLS, she was sooooo excited she was so happy/thrilled that i would lose weight and be "thin" I was always an embarrassment (msp) to her she said something like.............. "this is going to be sooo easy, you will just be able to eat a little bit" "everything is gonna be great - you will never be overweight again" you/me/all know how funny the above sounds since i've lost my weight (goal) soooo many people/family memers etc have been giving me compliments i'm not used to nice things being said about me - so i relish/thrilled about nice things being said after all the years of critical comments from my mom about my "excesss" weight I can count TWO times (not exaggerating) when she said a nice word about my appearance this is sooo awful to say but..........i told my hubby(no one else) once when i was really upset with my mom "if i die before my mom, i can just hear her saying------well at least she was thin this is a life time "struggle" - you/me/we have to work consistently but it is a good new lifestyle and i wouldn't trade it for the world i am sooo happy that this was done i luv my mom - don't think i always like her kathy
