    Finding my Passion/Paying it Forward

@@JustWatchMe luv luv luv yout post! i would never, ever, ever have done volunteer work pre-wls i was too self conscious about my appearence for the past year and 1/2 (since i've been at goal) i have been volunteering at our locat hospital i do this 2X a week - its great keeps me off the street and out of trouble doing simple errands, going to this floor or that - bringing paper work - SOMETIMES transferring patients, transporting blood - simple stuff like that but besides keeping me busy - i know i am being helpful, everybody is always appreciative I wear a blue vest!! remember - i look cute as a button!!! one day a "normal" guy that worked in the hospital looked and me in the elevator from out of the blue, he said something like "its really great to see you volunteers helping out here - we appreciate all you do )" i was grinning ear to ear for the rest of the day (kindof looked stupid!! ) i also volunteer once a week at the rescue mission putting food on platters for people that live in the rescue mission very hard/sad to do because you see people out of work - looking for food can be mentally draining but it is important - they need someone to do it good luck finding something to do - big or small you will be helpful to others - and makes you feel good about yourself good luck bud kathy

    I NEED HELP SUGGESTIONS PLEASE

@@georgia72886 sorry about your old habits sneaking back!!! don't know how much weight you successfully lost you were loosing ok? but then stalled for quite a wihile?? gave in to old eating habits because you got frustrated?? doesn't really matter the why i guess glad you know you want and need to get back on track people that are in your similar boat (don't worry you won't sink) frequently will do 3 Protein shakes a day (like the good ol' days ) this will give you a good jump start, make you feel better to get on program its been awhile, do you remember all the basic rules?? Kathys' Refresher Course 101!!!! sttop drinking 15-30 minutes before you eat never drink with your meals (people have been shot for less ) must drink at least 64 oz of Water after you eat wait 45-60 minutes before you drink always take smallll bites moderation eat with small utensils, take a bite of food put fork down eat slllllowly chew food well before you take another bite always eat protein first (ie dense protein like chicken is great cuz it makes you fuller faster) watch your carbs - SUPPOSED to be only around 40 (that can be a challange) 60 gr of protein is important try and exercise - even walking is better that sitting on your tush i can't relate to raising a youngun while you are trying to eat properly it must be very hard that being said - whatever good food you are required/need to eat - that would be great for him to eat too he is still very young - so stand firm , even if he's screaming - try not to give him or you junk we all know the rate of obesity for kids going up and up - making fat adults not pretty working 12 hr shiftsgood must be stressful and hard!!! luv my yogurt, mix in some fresh blueberries with granaola spinkled on top I JUST told my neighbor yesterday the yogurt tastes so good - almost like having an orgasm TMI? eating junk food??? KNOCK IT OFF we both know you can get back on program and continue to be the success i know you are I believe in you you should too!!! @@JustWatchMe glad life is going in the right direction don't let the divorce "win" causing you to mess up on food easier said than done, but do your best if you slip a bit ( like many of us do) pick yourself up after all, theres less of you now to lift 87 lbs down thats wonderful keep up the good job good luck kathy congrats
  16. @@Jade137 welcome to the board!!! you have successfully made a post its all uphill from here you had surgery about 3 weeks ago on pureed' now you should always stop eating when you get a "sign" burp et al if you are afraid of vomitting - stop!!! my doc used to tell me ' eat til i'm full, then stop 2 bites earlier you should always get the proper answers from you doc or NUT we love to give "free" advice comments, support medical queestions??? we're here to give our experiences but---- listen to your doc first and last we are all great here, but listen to the professionals, thats why he gets the big bucks!! good luck for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer life who deserves it more?? kathy
  17. @@Paige Larson you lost 126 lbs in 11 months woo hoo party dance, party dance (took me one year to lose 105 lbs) you have 84 lbs to lose for you to reach your goal weight the weight should continue to come off with your continued good work, following all the rules towards the end last few lbs (maybe 20 lbs or so) you might experience more stalls eventually you should lose the weight if you continue to stall, it might be your body telling you that you've lost enough weight stop worrying (causes wrinkles) I know good luck kathy

@@KSTUZ sorry about your problem proof that you have been going through hard times with "life" doesn't mean squat to an insurance company you had a 6 month supervised diet - and you gained alot??? how much?? now lose the proper amount of weight - even if that means 6 more month program this time you MUST lose the required weight, or more to hopefully be approved success will show them that you WIILL work hard they just won't be wasting money approving you, and you can't comply with losing weight if this 6 month is the route you must go, i know thats a pain and "oh no, 6 more months) what is 6 month when you are referring to an improved lifestyle - health, happiness best of luck to you kathy
  19. @@madwife2002 OMG - so many questions, so little time!! I would NOT consider losing 59 lbs in 3 months being a slow loser you are doing great don't worry about what other people have lost, how long it took them "we" all lose weight at our own rate concentrate on yourself you are the most important per your request.............it took me almost one year to reach my goal weight (losing 105 lbs) some/many people do have their appetite return partially/more than that you are 3 months PO - don't worry about how much you may or may not lose instead, continue to work hard and be happy to as much you ARE losing at the same time you are being a winner!!! glad you no longer have those feelings about Cookies et al at some point those thoughts "might" come back to haunt you but its up to you to put those memories out of your head/push them wayyyy on the back burner above is much easier said than done, trust me i know i know this might be hard sometimes - but we can do it (or come pretty close ) you can have a bite of this or that - just don't go crazy the sleeve will always be with you, like a good friend but you will continually have to work with both of them - to maintain your "friendship" take care keep up the good work kathy congrats

    Too Much Love/Hate

@@GentryGirl its a new day what is done is done you can't change the past about your recent eating mistakes "Maybe" it helps you to remember what you did so you won't do it again???? right after surgery i was on Clear liquids for 2 weeks, then full liquids, then pureed & finally soft EVENTUALLY made it to solids, but everything was at a slow pace we all need to give our poor tummy a chance to heal six weeks, already eating regularly??? i have heard of a couple of NUTS allowing people to eat at a quicker rate, You made the wise decision to have the sleeve you are obviously a smart "cookie" You have been given a wonderful "helper" (the sleeve) that will assist you in losing weight "you work with the sleeve, and the sleeve will work with you" eating too much, too fast etc. - not good!! Knock it off!!! LOL "weigh" the reasons you had the sleeve to begin with better health, happiness etc before you put that piece of food in your mouth, think of all you want to achieve don't just eat whenever you want to, and overeat follow all the rules Water et al especially when you are eating soft/solid foods never drink for 45-60 minutes after you ate "we" all have confidence in you come on girl good luck kathy
