  9. @@pinkbunies unbelievable!!!!! @@WL WARRIOR WLS sure does cost a lot of money used to be most all insurances covered the lapband and gastric bypass "they" would since the sleeve is too new, experimental things are fffffinally changing insurance companies are more frequently recognizing the sleeve medicare now covers the sleeve i know one big prob is that many employers don't cover any WLS my history of insurance was kindof weird i was told i couldn't submit bill to medicare til after surgery then they had 30 days to respond i was denied 3 years ago medicare did not cover the sleeve bill then went to secondary ins. BCBS took over a year of fighting my 36,000 dollars and change was finally paid in full!!!! no deductible, no co-pay, NO WAY!!!!! phew, lot of worry, but even having to pay would have been worth it but i'm glad i didn't have to pay 45 lbs down woo hoo keep up the good work kathy

January 12, 2015 - Making way for a new me!

@ always think its cool when i see family/friends etc have WLS together good for you on working on getting used to new habits eating slowly, drinking. etc most people start to feel different emotions prior to surgery date nervous, excitement, scared, happy and back again all normal feelings you are not alone my best advice is to always follow the "rules" with eating and drinking that invisible rule book is very important you'll get lots of help, good answers, and lots of support as you prepare for your adventure then the words of wisdom will continue it is good to listen to all advice, hear experiences et al BUT at the end of the day.............. always, always, always listen to the words of your doc/NUT (nutritionalist) (msp )they are the professionals Water rules can be hard - but must be followed (as everything else does too) stop drinking about 30 minutes before you eat never, ever, ever drink with your meals don't drink for 45-60 minutes after you eat drink at least 64 oz of water a day many of "us" were told to never use a straw (me, me, me) many of "us" were told to never drink carbonated beverages (me, me, me) but listen to what your NUT tells you take small bites chew thoroughly over and over into teeny tiny bits put silverware down for a minute (using infants/baby silverware ie spoons) helps you eat slower and also eat from a small plate then continue to eat eat sllllllowly eat Protein first then veggies watch the carbs always measure your food keep tract of what you are eating computer site called my fitness pal (MFP) is frequently used write down every bite you eat you can also track your exercise and water there too its good to realize there might be some ups and downs more good than bad stall - horrible 5 letter word - be prepared for them to maybe happen remember that none of us are the same we all loose weight in different time periods we don't loose the same amount of weight don't get discouraged it might take one person longer to loose weight than another (works both ways) you didn't wake up one morning all of a sudden overweight loosing all that weight won't happen over night either this is a marathon, not a sprint God Grant Me Patience Just Hurry Up About It january 12th is a wonderful day for surgery you will be turning one day old i will be turning 61 years YOUNG!!!! Its my b'day silly head best of luck to you now and then hubby in march speedy, healthy recovery kathy
