Had my first fill today ...according to the NP I am doing great....I have to admit I was a tad disapointed that I had only lost 9 lbs since 7/15 -- She was so kind as to go thru the amount of weight I have lost since the day before surgery to current and I agree with her an average of 4 lbs per week is good. I suddenly realized it has only been 5 weeks since banded so 28 lbs lost is pretty darn good- In the past I would have given up aready. So till we actually reviewed and discussed I was feeling disapointed but now I feel good about my progress....just putting it all in perspective~

An interesting conversation about protein..I was concerned that I cannot get in 60g a day- She said we here at TR do not state any amount of protein per day. She said 60G is more for maintaining - we want you to lose -- so as long as you are eating the right foods, staying at 1/2 cup per meal focusing on eating your protein first no worries I will lose weight and be healthy...Yes beleive it or not I do not eat more than 1/2 cup or 2-3 oz meat or fish and about 1/4 cup of veggies or fruit and I am satisfied /full (this is 3xs per day)- for the last week or so I have been getting hungry after 2.5 to 3 hours so I am glad I had a fill today.

My fill was totally painless I cannot believe how good she was it took about 3 minutes to withdraw and add~~~~!!! If i ever need any needles or IV's I will definitly ask if she is available~~~

Had a protein shake after fill and so far so good-- I think I will stay on protein shakes this week...although I do not have to I am traveling for work and going to a very remote part of NE and I do not beleive there will be any facilities around that could do an unfill if nessasary .....so liquids for sure JUST IN CASE of Stuck episodes Thank you all for listening hope your day is as great as mine has been!

It's been awhile since I posted - although I check the posts all the time. Everyone is so helpful and I have learned a ton of do's and don'ts Well I am 3 weeks post op and have lost 25lbs :bananajump: :lost2.5lbs: I am amazed at how easy this whole process has been so far - I hope it continues. I am really watching my portion control - take 25 minutes to eat and CHEW CHEW CHEW - I am trying to stay away from slider type food and focus on protein. I am a little concerned I am only eating between 500 and 600 calories a day  is this enough? I feel satisfied and stick to the 1/2 cup of food only - sometimes I leave food on the plate because I am satisfied or my 25 minutes is up.... I also excercise every day (every other day add strength excercises to cardio)
I am loving my BAND  But have concerns that I am not eating enough .. I do take multivitamin and calcium with D daily .....Any helpful information or advice would be appreciated :thankyou:

My first fill date is July 19th - although right now I am just starting solids I am only consuming 600 or less caloires a day it is hard when you are eating mushies to eat much more than that in staying with the guideline of 1/2- 1 cup of food max per sitting - I feel satisfied for the most part - however last night my husband made me a small hamburger - I ate small bites with LOTS of ketchup and chewed completly!!! I did find I was FULL by the time I finished the burger - I am hoping this maintains as I add additional solids to my meals..any suggestions on what to start with for lunches? I seem to get hungriest between lunch and supper (most lunches have just been soups?? And I have been excersising 6 xa a week ince day 5 of surgery -- Since I am (according to my food tracker Sparkspeople) I am burnign more calories than I am consuming will I still lose weight? I hear you do not...I am trying to do everything the right way to use this bnad as the tool it was meant to be..any and all suggestions would be appreciated

SURGERY- Day 1 - SLEEP SLEEP Hubby just kept feeding me my Pain med's- walked a teeny tad around the house

Day 2- Off and on sleeping - I checked emails from work (due to fuzzy head was very cautious in replying took pain med late afternoon and at bed time- No real gas issues or pain except when I tried to turn or bend etc.. Walked throughtout the house and deck several times

Day 3- feeling good - went to Walmart with hubby to walk around for awhile and get out of the house (I have a tendency to get restless) came home and did feel very tired - took nap - feeling good overall pain minor like I said when turning - bending etc NO PAIN MEDS AT ALL!

Day 4 - WOKE UP FEELING GREAT! Some soreness but amazingly little - Sat outside with my feet in the pool drove myself crazy because I wanted to swim so nicked that idea and went back int he house - overall had a great day!

Day 5- WOW I FEEL GREAT! Used my stationary bike for 30 minutes!!!!! BUT WAIT sometime around 2 the GAS PAIN STARTED OUCH worse pain i ever felt took my breath away WOAH~~ However it only lasted about an hour - heating pad /tylenol/Hot tea and Biofreeze and ALL GONE~ No more than a few nagging aches the rest of the day

Day 6- Can you say hip hip horray I feel so darned good it is scary~ Rode the bike again - was able to start on "sliders" so at least had some "tastes" in my drinks

Day 7 just a reapeat of 6 but even better!!!

I am so glad I have done this I have not weighed myself and its a struggle not too ~~ But I see my Doc tomorrow and will see how much weight I may have lost since Surgery day! And I hpe he tells me I can SWIM~ I love the pool and doing my excercises in the pool is much better than sweatign it on a bike or eliptical machine - save those for on the road and winter days

So that is all for now But its been wonderful so far and am hoping it continues this well~
