  1. I still get horrible cramps and I have an IUD. My periods never stopped with them. Just after surgery my first period was heavier, but now they are about normal in strength, but go a few days longer.

  2. I work at a desk job. I had my surgery on a Friday afternoon, released Saturday morning from the hospital. Worked from home on Wednesday. Was in the office on Thursday and Friday, but I slept right when I got home and all weekend. The next week was a bit rough with nausea in the morning, but I had a prescription for that. Otherwise, I was good. I made it!

  3. Initially, the first 6 weeks or so you cannot physically eat more than a few hundred calories, if that. Over time, a few months into it, your nutritionist will let you know how much you should be eating. I have to eat 1000 calories a day. We need calories from good sources. Otherwise you will become lethargic. The key is to get your Protein in first, then veggies, etc. Protein is the only thing we cannot get from a Vitamin and we need on a daily basis plus it helps with hunger. The few week period your calories are low doesn't cause "starvation" mode. Once your body heals you must have the proper intake, but it will be hard to make sure you hit those numbers initially.

  4. Im sure this is going to probably incite some judgment but I am very curious about foods that have to be given up forever because of the sleeve. Im not talking about 2 weeks post surgery wanting a double cheeseburger. Im also not talking about consuming entire troughs of food in one sitting. Im talking about completely healed, chugging liquid (does that ever happen again?), in moderation, human sized portions. Not eating like a fat ass every day but on some days when you really want to what cant you eat? I am just trying to make an informed decision. I mostly want to know:

    @ 3 months out I can...

    Can you:

eat and drink (nothing major just water)? Hard to do...it can be done, wouldn't recommend it...not good

drink alcohol? (beer, wine, margaritas, tequila shots, cranberry and vodka, long islands, all alcohol) and if so what is the effect? Yes I can drink all of them, but not as much as I used to, sometimes no effect, others I get very drunk and then sober quickly, I do not like the feeling of a hangover after surgery, seems worse than before, HYRDRATION is key

eat and drink alcohol together? NO

eat fried foods? yes I eat them on occasion, but don't feel good.

go out to eat? yes I eat out frequently, make good choices and portion out my food, take the rest home.

Spicy foods? Yes, I love spicy foods

    Pasta? No

    Rice? No

    smoke? No

    weed? cigarettes? cigars? No

if yes to anything what has the result been?

Btw if you puke, i take that as a no you cant and you just havent come to grips with it yet (no judgment over here)

  5. I would start again on the PPI's as they do help with some hunger. As for an appetite suppresent, I would not do it, but I can tell you that my surgeon told me that if I needed to get the last 10 lbs off he would prescribe me some. I am hopeful that I won't need them. You are lower on the scale now so Im thinking its just coming off slower. Be patient. 800-1000 calories is probably just right or a little low for you. Check with your NUT, mine said now I need 1000-1200.
