  1. I am only 3 weeks post op. Please reach out to my friend NtvTxn. She is 3 years post op and will have the best advice for you. She makes it a game, she measures everything! Please contact her, I do not want you to gain! We are always here for you!

  2. You must go back to the basics. Cleanse yourself, I would suggest even doing a mini-liquid diet if possible for a week. Then, remember always protein first then veggie, then carb. You won't have as much room for the carbs. I am a carb addict and I know I need to plan my meals ahead of time as to avoid snacking on the stuff there for my sons lunches. Also, excercise more and with intense intervals. Good luck!

  3. It sounds to me like you should really research the surgery from reputable websites. if you go on a sleeve forum or a band forum you will get a biased opinion. Also, you will see some not so good experiences. Each person is different and if weight loss surgery is something you have been told about as an option I would start by researching first. It had never crossed my mind until my doctor suggested it to me two years ago. I realize you have been to the seminars and may have been educated on it, but even those seminars have fact with biased opinion as they want to do your surgery. When researching the sleeve specifically I looked at the National Institute of Health's website, Mayo Clinic, etc. I even went to Dr. Oz's website as he had a simple video on there that gave statistics and I watched to see who sponsored it and if the information he presented slanted the information and I don't think it did. This is where I saw the breakdown of average weight loss success and sustainability. Sleeve is around 55-60% excess weight loss after 5 years if I remember correctly. As for the risks, there are always risks, but we are willing to take those risks as the benefits for us outweigh them. Some people on this forum had diabetes or couldn't have children due to their weight. Since having the surgery they are no longer on medications and are having children. Its definitely an individual decision and it has to be your own and not your doctors.

  4. Good luck to you! There are several people on here and in other forums who have switched to sleeve after their lapband fails. If you need some guidance you can search in the search engine for their group or for members with similar experiences! I hope you find the answers you need!

  5. Thank you all so very much! Yes I have the moon face and belly, I have the mood swings and thin skin with bruising. All due to one steroid injection, the last time I took Prednisone was in February and only for 3 days cause all the meds I took gave horrible reactions, so all it could be is the ESI. Some docs say that this is impossible, but I'm here to tell them it IS possible. Thanks so much for your kind words and Freelance Frog, your belly will go away, it may be the last to go, but it will! I know that will be the same for me!
