    The Turkey Challenge

Well I was 224 the day after Thanksgiving which was 1 pound below my goal. Today of course I am 225. Which is my goal weight, so who can complain? I failed miserably on my other goals. Oh well. There is always next month!!

    Fictitious Members

I have run acrossed some bogus members as well. I just flag them. It doesn't get to me though. I don't care who reads about my experiences.

Hello all! Weighed in at 226 today. That is a 5 pound loss for me!! I am dropping weight so fast. It seems so surreal!

    Loose SkIn!!!

I guess I am a little weird. I have developed a liking to my saggy baggy stomach!! I love the way it feels. It is soft and doughey and my boyfriend likes it too! My batwings are another subject! My daughter told me last night that she can tell I have lost weight cause my arms were jiggly Got to love children to state the obvious!
  9. Congrats on the Hemoglobin A1C! One thing I would like to add...there is nothing "easy" about being banded. It is much harder than any diet I have ever done. It is very regimented and structured.
  10. I have also had this type of response from my dad, friends, and co-workers. Depending on the relationship I have with the person saying the comment is how I judge my response. Usually it goes something like this....I have lost hundreds, if not thousands of pounds in my lifetime. Losing weight is not the problem. Keeping it off after I lose it is. If you have never been morbidly obese, you could never began to understand what it is like. This is my decision. Your approval is not neccessary. Good luck! It is only your journey to take. You decide how to take it.

    Oblivious or intentional

Its funny because when I lost weight on previous diets I did not like people commenting on my weight loss. It made me uncomfortable. Sometimes it even made me fall off the wagon. Now with my weight loss, I crave the compliments and comments, good or bad! Some people that I have not seen in awhile that don't say anything at all do kinda peeve me off, but oh well. My 20 year old daughter was sitting next to me this past weekend and looked down at my chest and asked me "Where are your boobs?" I guess this was her way of saying I had lost weight
  14. I can totally relate. I am a month post op and have a sense of not being quite right. Food has been my friend/enemy for so long. I am having a hard time dealing with any emotions. I keep tellin gmyself this will pass. I am going to the Psychologist and it does help some. I don't get any enjoyment out of eating anymore. I feel lost without this enjoyment. I have been trying to channel these feelings into some other type of healthy addiction, but so far have not been very successful. I have begun working out everyday and maybe I can become an exercise nut. Good luck to you. We will make it through this hurdle together!

    Hungry, haters, but happy!

I can totally relate to the haters. One of my co-workers told me she would rather be fat than to have WLS. My response was, "you have never been 317 pounds, unable to walk without becoming short of breath, not being able to sit in any chair comfortably, not be able to reach certain areas of your body, etc, etc," People do not understand. Lapband is a personal decision you have to make for yourself. It is something you have to be comfortably living with. No one can live your life but you. Good luck to you!
  16. Just remember this is small portion of your journey and it will get better. I know right now it may not seems like it will ever get better. I am 28 days post-op and thought I would never make it to this point. I was very depressed, hated (and still do) the protein shakes. I promise it will get better. Keep telling yourself this too shall pass! Good luck with your journey!

    Eating Samples!

I am with you on the cottage cheese. I eat alot of it too. It seems to be what I crave mostly and it settles my stomach when I am nauseated, which seems to be all the time. Usually 1/2 cup is all I need to fill me up. I have been craving some egg salad and I made some last night and it was yummy.

    1st stuck episode

I am 3 weeks post op. Have been able to eat whatever I want basically so far. Have been eating what I am supposed to, but not chew chew chewing, because I havent had to thus far. Well tonight I was extra hungry, running my mouth, trying to eat a bacon cheeseburger from Burger King...without the bun of course. After about the 3rd bite, it stopped going down. Not a good feeling at all. I was beginning to think being stuck was an urban myth. Boy was I wrong. I remembered reading about meat tenderizer helping some people get unstuck. I tried it and after 3 swigs, i started feeling somewhat better. But that was the end of my hamburger. As a precaution I am gonna but my self on liquids only for a day. Today was definitely a learning experience in my new bandland.

My surgeon told me I failed - he was wrong

Good luck to you. I hate hearing about people that have had bad experiences with their surgeons. We have all been through so much, we don't need any additional hurdles toward our weight loss.

    1st stuck episode

Actually I was following my nutritional guidelines giving to me by the dietician. I am allowed to eat all Proteins. Any meat, eggs or cheese. I never did the mushies. I went from liquid to regular proteins. I wish I did do some mushies. I would have loved to eat some of the things I see other people able to eat. I did learn my lesson though. I will definitely be chew chew chewing from now on
  21. Well I have been following all the rules as well, and have gained 2 lbs back. I read a post on here that explains how our bodies are in a state of dehydration and is holding on to all the liquids we take in for the first few weeks. I am hoping once I get a fill, I will start losing again. It is very discouraging to be eating less than 1000 calories a day and gaining weight. Might as well eat a Big Mac, huh? Not really though. Keep doing what you are doing. Hopefully you and I both will break through this soon.
  22. Here in lapband hell. Hoping to get over this hurdle.

  23. Hey Daisy. Thanks for the add. Nice to see someone else from Randolph county on here! Good luck to you!

  24. I am so glad that this topic was posted. I was banded 9/27. Lost 22 lbs 2weeks pre and 2 weeks post, and now nothing. Very depressing. I am eating next to nothing. I get my first fill in a couple weeks. Hope that will make a difference. Think positive!! This too shall pass.

Banded three days ago - is this normal?

I had similar pain for about 10 days after surgery. It felt like trapped indigestion that I just couldn't burp up. If you are able to keep liquids down, hopefully you will be ok.
