wondering1 got a reaction from GreenTealael in Sleeved in August 2011
I am almost 10 years since the day I was sleeved. I weighed 278 pounds when I had my surgery. I got down to 173 pounds and now I am back up to 220 pounds. I am feeling like a failure. I am terrified of putting all of the weight back on. How are others doing this better? How can I get some of this weight back off? If you are continuing to lose weight what are your daily macros? I’m not even sure if I have restriction anymore. Is there a way to find out? I started drinking sodas probably a year after I was sleeved. Have I ruined it for good? Is anyone else in the same boat? I’d love to have some help and support.

Update - I have lost 3lbs. since my post last week. The 2 biggest things that have helped me get back on track is observing the 15 minutes before/30 minutes after meal rule for liquids and tracking all of my food on MyFitnessPal. Exercise is next on my to do list now that I've gotten the food situation under control.

Hey! I’m not someone who has gotten it back off, but I am someone who has been working at it for the past week. I am in a similar boat in that I have gained quite a bit and I feel it. It’s horrible. I have more than 40 to lose and was sleeved in 2012. I came back to BP, started back with basics- Protein first, no eating and drinking at meals, and cut the crap. I’ve also been exercising again. I can post weekly updates here if you’d like. Start today. Good luck!

And now 5 months later.... I am down 45 pounds from last July. I weigh less than I did in graduate school in 1981 !!!! I started this journey wearing size 28 pants before surgery. I am now wearing either a size 14 or a 16 petite ( which I like the fit on better for my short self ! ) and had to shop "blind" with no stores open ! But I couldn't keep my pants up to go back to work ! This journey has been a gift that continues to give me benefits many years later.
I have never regretted it for a moment. Get your surgery. You will lose weight. Do not worry about how fast or how much or compare yourself to anyone else. Take each ounce you lose as a victory and Celebrate it !!!

So it's been about 4 1/2 weeks since I posted that I had gained 43 pounds. I have been going back to the post op way of eating and trying to exercise more and more. So far I have lost about 8 pounds of the regain. I know if's not a lot but I know I can keep going since I have stopped the "REGAIN TRAIN". April 3rd I weighed 217, today I weighed 209. I find that my sweet spot as far as calories go is 1200-1300 per day. Some people who have had surgery think that's a lot but I have to make the changes that work for me. Please help me Celebrate feeling better and working harder.
Every day is a struggle but I can make it. To everyone else who has regained: I swear that if I can make it, YOU can too. Get up and move just a little bit more than you did yesterday and cut out one thing at a time that you shouldn't be eating. We still have our tool, we just have to use it. I'm feeling pumped up and beautiful again.

Hi everyone! I'm so happy to find this group again. My surgery was Aug 2011 and I weighed 278. I got down to 178 that first year, but then went back up to 185 for a whole year. Now I'm at 203 and very sad. I'd like to get 20-25 pounds off. I've just lost my drive to do better this last year. I'm looking for some encouragement and support from people who've been there. I still have pretty good restriction, I just eat all the time, and bad stuff. Please help me get back to a place where I feel good about me. Thanks in advance.
