    Cheese Crisps

I dont know who posted this but I came across this recipe and tonight I made it and it is soo yummy! I take 1/2 cup of Fat Free Kraft Shredded Chedder cheese and 4 Tbsp of Parmasan Cheese and blend it in a food processor until its pretty fine tiny chunks almost powder like. I personally take a cookie sheet, cover it with foil and spray it with butter flavored pam but you can use any nonstick surface baking sheet or whatever. Take scoops of 1tsp each and press into little flat circles onto pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Yields 24 crisps = 4.2 oz cheese 170 calories, 6 fat, 0 sugar, 4 carbs, 26 Protein in 24 crisps! Enjoy

    Microwave Omelettes

I'm still in the mushy stage and I have been making omelettes with the liquid eggs in a box. I prefer them microwaved because when i tried it on the stove all my meat was crumbling out. I was watching my husband make a homemade "eggmcmuffin" and completely forgot that I used nuke my eggs. Basically I take a ceramic/microwave safe bowl and spray it with pam or any nonstick cooking spray. I measure out about 3.5oz of liquid eggs (i love the southwestern style with the peppers in it) and chop small pieces of a half a piece of deli turkey into it, a dash of h2o to keep it from drying out and towards the last minute or so in the microwave I stop and throw some fat free chedder cheese shreds on it. A couple of minutes into cooking I usually stop it and flip it over as well.

Munching on some now, so yummy. One tip tho, make sure u bake em long enough till they r crispy almost a light golden brown or else it's just stale tasting.

    Microwave Omelettes

yea it is easy. growing up my sister always made her own mcmuffins like this. usually for one single egg its 2 mins flat but when i use a 3.5 oz of liquid eggs, with the turkey bits it usually ends up for 3 1/2 to 4 mins.

  12. lol i was distracted between reading and instant messages i have to say you got me, had to look at that one twice lol xD
  13. to the person concerned with VSG, i havent had any complications whatsoever (surgery 12 days ago), i didnt even have any pain until i returned home and it was only as if id done crunches at the gym, just muscle soreness. i did however do alot of research on my doctor, he works at one of the top 100 clinics in america and has 20 yrs experience and 0% mortality rate, they even told me they havent had ANYONE come back with problems from VSG only minor complications with gastric and lap band. which makes me wonder which doctor you saw that you had so much trouble gabriella and im very sorry to hear all of that, sounds as if he was inexperienced. i really hope everything gets better for you very soon.

5 weeks post op - 18 years old

just to put it out there, i HIGHLY recommend New Whey protein shots!!! i buy em at GNC but they are also sold online at www.newwhey.com. i make a large amount of the fruit punch flavor mixed with fruit punch crystal light and now i can get in 31.5g protein with only 16oz of fluid!! its super yummy!
  15. i started mushier stuff on day 10, no carbs here tho, the cracker idea does scare me. i went through all my doctors paperwork and he gave my multiple info on the same diet however on one page it states "after you are tolerating liquids without any problems you can move on to a pureed diet or very soft liquids. this should happen after about 10 days to two weeks". (the pureed food list does include things like fish and deli meats) i have been ultra paranoid about stretching and have been careful but on that day i took 2 turkey meatballs, boiled them, and chopped them very small into 1/4 cup very low cal spaghetti sauce, chewed alot, ate slow and couldnt finish half but had no problems. the next day i had grilled tilipia and i couldnt eat more than an oz and a half. im currently on day 12 and had scrambled eggs for supper and was still completely stuffed. im assuming the time u can start mushies depends not only on a specific date but in how soon you heal. ive always healed very fast and once i read this 10 day info it was on for me lol. im still able to stay around 600 cal no problem. ive lost over 20lbs since my surgery and about 50-52lbs this past month (havent updated ticker because im trying to stick to a once a week update but still cant keep myself from steppin on everyday lol) anyways thats my thought on this. believe me i am pretty paranoid about messing anything up because this surgery was out of pocket but with my mushies i still feel the restriction and the weight is still fallin off every day.
  16. i love a recipe i believe i found on here. its refried Beans thinned with beef broth and throw on some fat free cheese shreds and a small spoonful of fat free sour cream! <3 grats on the new sleeve!!

  18. I am normally a stomach and side sleeper but i stayed on my back for about 7 days by the 8-9th day i was venturing to my right side and now 10 days out I sleep on both sides and my stomach, kinda scary wakin up on my stomach but in all honesty it doesnt hurt at all, I try to keep it on the sides tho for peace of mind lol. gl to you!!
  19. Just wondering if I'm overdoing it here. I can down 20oz H2O in about 30min to an hour but I'm worried about my protein shakes. I've been drinking Atkins shakes which are premixed and I'd say about a bit thicker than milk. I had 8oz for breakfast everything else I have I do in 4 oz increments. Being that it's thicker than my usual water I'm just concerned about it not going down as quick but 8oz this morning and I felt okay. Prethanks to the people helping me with my paranoia I really want this to work!

    Am I overdrinking?

Ty guys very good to know I'm not alone. I actually sat and paid attention today at lunch (refried beans thinned with beef broth, ff cheese shreds and ff sour cream) and I could feel almost every swallow. 3 oz in and I had to throw away the fourth I was stuffed. My mom was so sweet to pay for this surgery and it cost so much I'm just a bit paranoid to mess anything up. Thx again! <3 this site

    tomorrows the big day!

UPDATE: I'm in the hospital right now. Just got back from my first walk. First let me tell you guys I had major trauma twice as a kid with emergency stitches and I'm the biggest baby in the world. I cried thru everything but to be honest the IV was the worst part and it wasnt even that bad. I keep thinkin theres no way i just had this done I'm not even in pain. It's like a cramp in my tummy but just WOW I'm extremely shocked. The Cough Buddy is awesome as well.. the only thing I don't like is having to cough. I wish I wouldnt have told the aide I was dizzy because I wanted to walk alot further than they had me walk. lol Thanks guys for the prayers n wishes, I really appreciate all the love. <3

    Liquid diet crisis

ive been on a preop diet for 3 weeks and have lost 32lbs i drank vanilla atkins drinks like crazy my orders were to have at least 15g protein n less than 5 carbs to me the vanilla is like melted ice cream they are super delicious and sometimes for Breakfast i would blend them with a light strawberry yogurt, ice and splenda for a more filling delicious smoothie. i also got the chocolate which i love and blended them with banana bits and ice. once i started the 10 day prior to surgery diet i mostly drank them straight but blended some in the mornings still with yogurt and a bit of milk. thanks to another shopper at walmart i picked these up and <3 them. just bought strawberry today, hope they r just as delicious i enjoyed Gladiator from Smoothie King as well and you can order just one smoothie without having to drop $30 on some case of powder you wont like. i was advised that u may not be able to get all the protein in for the first couple of weeks post op but to just try your best my sleeve will be in less than 8 hours, wish i could sleep lol! gl to you!!
