  1. I'm doing well. I'm now down 91 pounds (72.3 since surgery). I feel much healthier and happier. The weight loss has slowed significantly but I'm ok with that. I have about 45 pounds to reach my personal goal. Some recent progress pics (current pics from my recent vacay to Dominican Republic).
  2. I've been in the 240s since December 14th! I'm almost out (need to lose 0.7) so hopefully soon. I definitely had a slow go of it from Thanksgiving to New Years and it has picked up a bit. It's ok, I'm not in a hurry and I know I'll get there. I haven't been in the 230s for 10 years and even then it was a very brief stay. I plan to whiz right past and get into the 220s.
  3. I eat 4-5 small meals/snacks per day. My surgeon is fine with it. Otherwise I can't get all my protein in (and I don't do shakes anymore). My typical snacks are cheese or jerky, sometimes pork rinds or nuts.

    Any August Sleevers out there?

You look amazing! Great job. You work out a lot!
  5. Checking in. I was sleeved 8/16. I've been doing great. Had a slow loss in Dec (my own fault). I've already lost more in January than in December and only half way through the month! I'm down 69.2 from HW and 50.5 from SW. I've lost 44 inches too. Gone from a size 24 pants to a 16 or 18, a size 3X or 22/24 top to XL or 14/16, and a 44C bra to a 38/40 C/D. I've also been doing Zumba, which I love. I want to try kickboxing too. I'm super happy with my progress. I attached my most recent progress pic.
  6. Honestly, it's not so bad. In the beginning, you won't want that stuff anyways. And after awhile, you can incorporate some of the stuff back in but in a healthier way. I eat burgers. I get them lettuce wrapped. I usually eat half and it satisfies me. I eat salami and cheese all the time. I eat an occasional slice of pizza. For me, it's all about moderation and portion control. I choose not to think of it as giving stuff up, it's just a new way of eating. I don't really miss pasta or soda like I thought I would. I can still eat a small amount of bread (half a bagel or one slice of toast). Whatever you decide, I wish you luck.

    Any August Sleevers out there?

How's everyone doing in the new year so far? I've been doing great. Had a slow loss in Dec (my own fault). I've already lost more in January than in December and only half way through the month! I was sleeved 8/16 and I'm down 69.2 from HW and 50.5 from SW. I've lost 44 inches too. Gone from a size 24 pants to a 16 or 18, a size 3X or 22/24 top to XL or 14/16, and a 44C bra to a 38/40 C/D. 8. I was sleeved 8/16/18. I've been super lucky with no complications whatsoever. No nausea, no vomiting. I've tolerated every food I've tried. I am shedding hair a bit but that has happened to me with every surgery I've had, not just WLS. I have lost 69 from my HW and 50.3 since surgery (today is my 5 month surgiversary). I'm very happy with my progress.

    Any August Sleevers out there?

I was sleeved 8/16 and I've lost 37.1 since surgery and 55.8 including preop. I'm happy with my rate of loss. I'm 46, 5'4" and in perimenopause. It would take me months to lose a few pounds before surgery and I was always up and down the same 5-10 pounds.

    Show me your Vitamins

I take a chewable prenatal. My surgeon OK'd it (she said once we do 3 month labs she'll let me know if I need to change any of my vitamins). I do 2 of those per day. Then I take 2 calcium citrate petites (a dose is more but I eat a lot of cheese so I think I get enough calcium total but again we'll see after my labs), a sublingual B12, 2000 IU of Vitamin D per day, and biotin.

    Exercise

I'm not a big fan of exercising. I do walk to/from work and public transportation and once in awhile on the weekends. I know I like Zumba as I've done it in the past so I'm going to join a local gym that has Zumba classes. I'm hoping once I start doing that, I won't dread exercising so much.

    Protein water?

I got some at Target near the pharmacy where they have protein shakes and powders.
  13. Wow, I think your loss is amazing. I'm almost 2 months out and I've lost 27.1 since surgery (45.8 from my highest weight) and I'm thrilled with that. My doc didn't give me a specific weight loss goal for 2 months but I'm supposed to hit 55-70 grams protein and 60 oz. liquids per day (I do most days). I have been averaging about 1000 calories per day and I have not had a protein shake since 2 weeks post-op, I get my protein from food.

    40 something sleevers?

That's great. I do tend to eat too fast. Working on that. I'm thinking of joining a new local gym that has Zumba and kickboxing as I think those sound fun. I haven't hit a stall yet but I did notice the weight loss slow down considerably during Weeks 3 to 6 but it seems to be moving again pretty good.

    40 something sleevers?

Just checking in on this thread. I'm 46 and I had my sleeve 8/16/18. I'm down 43.2 from my highest and 24.5 down since my sleeve. I've been doing well and have tolerated every food I've tried so far; no nausea or vomiting. I'm still learning how to stop BEFORE I eat a bit too much and get that uncomfortably full feeling. It's like my mind is like no way will that satisfy you so I go another bite or two and then I'm like that was definitely a bit too much. I'm on a regular full diet now but just being mindful of not eating anything that is super hard to digest. How is everyone else doing so far?

Should I cut my hair? (Hair Loss)

I'm a month out so no hair loss yet, but I know it will happen. So I cut it all off.

Post op pain - be honest

I did not have much pain at all. Once I got home, I didn't take any pain meds (except once 5 days post op for gas pain in my shoulder, and once for a headache). I was slightly uncomfortable when trying to get in/out of bed or bending, but otherwise I was fine.

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

I think that's great. I was sleeved 8/16 and down 34.4 from pre op. I'm super happy with my results thus far.

    40 something sleevers?

I'm 46 and sleeved almost 2 weeks ago. I've lost 9 lbs since surgery and 27.6 since my highest. I went through the process about 8 years ago but had some other health problems which prevented me from having the surgery. After taking care of those and then trying on my own to lose over the years, I decided to go forward again. Glad I did.

    August 2018 sleeve surgery!!

I had a week where I had 5 days of regular food (but I was doing low calorie, high protein, low carbs) and 2 days of liquids and I lost 6 pounds. Then I lost another 3 pounds in 2 days doing liquids. So it seems to be working pretty well.

    August 2018 sleeve surgery!!

    August 16th for me
  22. Hi everyone. I'd like to jump in and join this thread. My surgery date is August 16, 2018. I start my pre-op liquid diet on August 2nd. I have one final weigh in on August 1st since my surgeon still wants me to lose more weight. I'm currently doing a 1200-1400 calorie, high protein, low carb diet. I have my hospital pre-op appointment on July 30th. I started this process at the end of September and delayed it a bit due to work issues and then my cruise vacation earlier this month, so I'm sooo ready to get this done.
  23. My nut recommended to cut back to one cup per day and no restriction after surgery.
