I would have been pissed too! Make sure you set up all your future appointments accordingly so you don't have to go through this again. He should have believed you because your PCOS must be in his charts, but also understand a lot of patients lie, so they are incredulous.
Once at your pre-op weight, if I was you, I would have a brief , nice but direct talk with him/her. It will benefit you greatly if he knows you are committed, so this doesn't happen again. Remember you will seeing this surgeon for a few years!
Something along the lines of "I want to let you know I am very committed and serious about this surgery. Last time I reminded you I have PCOS and had my period so I gained X number of pounds and you didn't seem to believe me. I know some patients lie so that made you incredulous but I want to make sure you know I am not one of them. I am committed and I will follow your rules but I am going to need your understanding once in a while." I would then smile.

I love your post. Sounds so much like my own experience. I didn't realize how eating was so much of my life until I started fearing not being able to eat after surgery. I to was taught to finish my plate. Food has always been a comforter to me. While I hate to admit feeling a sense of loss that I will no longer experience the comfort of one of my favorite foods when I need it I am super excited to gain my life back and finding new sources of enjoyment. Thanks for the post. Surgery is coming on Wednesday and I can't seem to get enough of this site.

I have been sleeved a week and all is going well. I wish you the best. I think you will do great. It is hard to own up to never getting the lost time back but going forward life will be wonderful and you will be truly yourself again. My prayers are with you.

I just read your post and I just wanted to say that I wish you the very best on your journey. I too am being sleeved on March 1st and I echo many of the sentiments you so eloquently discussed.

I have a good boss but I have been in a position with another boss that told me I couldn't have a "smoke break" (i wanted the same 5 minutes people were getting to smoke to walk a quick pace around the building) because I didn't smoke. I took it to HR and won. He tried to have me let go for "performance" after that - after I got a 8 on a review scale of 8. Nope and I pushed it to the point they went through the people he let go or recommended be let go and he was demoted two months later.
