  1. you could try care credit, it is a company that does medical credit cards. or you could just google medical loans. Or talk to the surgen that you are going through sometimes they have financing in houe. Good Luck

    Need help with Timeline

They do a leak test before you leave the hospital so there should be no reason that you cant go that far away. But if something should happen (very very unlikely0 you can just go to the nearest ER.
  3. Good Luck hope you have an uneventful surgery and recovery! Let us know how everything goes

    % of stomach removed

Everyones stomach is differet sizes tobegin with so what you are left with is based on what size bougie they use. So I think they just average it out to 75-85%

    First day of pre-op diet

That really was some nice timeing! Good luck with your pre op diet and let us know how your surgery goes
  8. I don't know if there is any scientific proof on this subject but I did get more of the hunger sensation on the couple days that I di not take my PPI
  9. I personaly cant stomach another Protein shake if I dont have to so I try to get all of my protien from food plus I am still in my loosing phase and have chose to be super strict with my eating but will deffinatly be expanding my choices when I reach maintnance. I do sometimes wish I could sit down with a huge bow of Pasta and gorge my self but then I think of the consequences and where doing that got me and I get over it pretty quickly plus I take small bites of my small meals so they last just as long as a "normal" meal and it fills me up and I feel satisfied. I am one month and 5 days out from surgery and I have lost 21 pounds since then so no I do not regret haveing surgery I actually completely LOVE my sleeve it really does work wonders as long as you work with it. my typicall meal for a day is oh and I am still on the puree stage. B: 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese ot 1/2 cup fat free greek yogurt L: 1/2 C purees chicken, turkey with 1 oz sauce or 1/4 c taco seasoned turkey or chicken with 1 T fat free cheddar 3 T refried Beans and some taco sauce D:1/2c +2T Beef with 2T greek yogurt made into creamy horseradish sauce. I am not suposed to have Snacks on my dr's plan which is no problem with me as I am not usually hungry between means but If I am short on protien I will have a laughing cow light cheese wedge or 4-8 oz of a 100 cal nesquick chocolate milk.

    Too much exercise?

I usually burn 500-600 cals at the gym but am only eating between 300 -400 in a day with no more then 30 carbs . I spoke to my surgen about this and he said that it was fine as long as I have energy and keep doing what I am doing. As for the gain you could be retaining water or building mussle. Pull the tape measure out and I am sure you will see a drop in numbers there even if you dont see one on the scale.
  11. Not all dr's require a pro op diet and there is debate weather or not it helps I personaly believe that it helps you get used to the way you will be eating after surgery and it gets you through the sugar withdrawels with out the added strain of recovery. For my pre op I was on a 1200 cal low carb high protien diet up till 10 days before surgery then it was 4 shakes and on lettuce salad with lemon juice and then all clears the day before surgey. There really are alot of different pre op diets, if you search pre op diet you can research them on here and then modify one for your self if you feel it would help you. Good Luck and let us know how your surgery goes.

    Dreading eating

you doc does seem to progress a bit faster then some. if it is to painfull to eat then bring it backa a stage for a few days . then try mushies again. good luck! and it really does get better every day
  13. I am one month out today it really amazes me how fast time flys by, I am only 4 pounds away from my half way goal which I am sure I will make by next week. I truly contribute being this far to my nut's pre op diet on which I lost 30 pounds. I really do recomend putting your self on a pre op diet even if your surgen and Nut do not require one, it really does help with getting your self ready for the change in diet post op and it puts you that much closer to goal for after surgey. Good luck to all who are considering VSG and to all who have all redady joined the loosers bench! You have all been such wonderfull inspiration to me

    Calcium Citrate

Have you thought about using a multi with no iron it is so that you can take your calcium with it? I know that would mean taking an iron at a seprate time but I think it would be better to take one pill seprate then two at seprate times. I do use the BA Lozenge and I think they are great.

    Surgery date

Its an awsome feeling knowing you have a date an that it is really going to heppen isn't it? Congrats on getteing your date and good luck. keep us posted on your progress
  16. Sounds like you are going through carb and caffeine withdrawels, this will get better after a few days usually no m ore then a week depending on your previous diet. My best advise is to pre warn peopple you will be around that your mood may not be all that great and you may have a short fuse take some advil and just know that it will get better with time and you will be sleeved before you know it. Good Luck and let us know how everything goes

And then yesterday while I was at the gym I was actually running on the treadmill (only for 1 - 1.5 min at a time but I was running) I have never been a runner but now I am determined to do at least a 1/2 marathon when I reach goal.

  24. Hello, my surgen was DR. Teng in Las Vegas NV at Mt. View Hospital. I would and have highly recomend Dr. Teng to any one who need surgery. Him and his staff are wonderfull and help in any way they can to get you through the process. The staff at Mt. View were also great. Oh and I stayed in the hospital one night.
  25. try eating some sugar free popsicles thay should help with the energy since there are calories in the but only like 25 so dont worry about them plus they will help with you liquid intake which will also help with energy.
