betheboo got a reaction from pastor o in Finding The Lap Band Green Zone
Here is my? I feel like I'm mostly in the green with the exception of the regurgitations I tend to throw up about every other day especially if I try to eat when I first get up. I feel really good about the ant I'm eating & my hunger control. Also my weight loss has been good thus far 40 lbs in 14 wks. I have been hoping that as I loose weight my band will loosen. I really don't want to drive 2 & a 1/2 hes for an unfill & then find myself hungry all of the time.

betheboo got a reaction from NoMoBand in Mexican Lap Band Gone Wrong
Unfortunatly complications can happen ne where. I would be super nervous though if I had my surgery in Mexico & had to go to a doctor in tthe states who didn't put my device in. That's a can of worms not many doctors r willing to take on! When it comes to ur life & health bargaining is NOT WORTH IT!!!

betheboo got a reaction from BekkyC in Bummed About Weight Gain After Plastic Surgery
So two weeks ago I had brachioplasty, I had a substantial unfil per my lb doctors suggestion to decrease risk for aspiration. Prior to this I was super tight & hit 120 weight loss bringing me 14 lbs from my goal weight.
Immediatly after surgery I weighed myself & had a 13 lb weight gain. I know it was all Fluid. So I decided to have my husband hide my scale & just let myself focus on healing noy my weight. So 2 weeks later & I'm up 23 lbs!!!!! Ahhhh!!!!
I realize my eating has not been the greatest. I have indulged a bit to much. pizza, steak, bread... things I haven't ate in about 10 months.
I'm disappointed in myself:( I feel like a failure & that I haven't overcome my battle with food in the slightest. A combination of being able to eat anything & not being able to exercise has taken a hefty toll & quick!
So my plastic surgeon has cleared me for light exercise as long as I don't work up a heavy sweat, my incision in my armpit is gaping & needs resutured. Tonight I did go for a mile walk & tomorrow I'm checking my eating habits. Tracking my calories & staying away from fast food!
So I asked my husband tonight to unhide my scale...t hey refused & told me he doesn't want me obsessing over it. I'm kinda pissed @ him & am half tempted to go buy a new one!

betheboo got a reaction from Holly Dolly in Those Of Us Who Are Brave Enough To Share Weve Failed
I have been very fortunate to have lost more weight than most. My doc can't hardly believe it. However I have a cousin with the band who has not been as fortunate I know it's super hard for her bc she has had a lot of stomach issues, she has some weird pain disorder. She also is pregnant now. Seeing her struggle makes me realize that this is not a magic fix. You still have to make good choices & focus on ur weight loss. She didn't count cals or monitor what she ate bc she said " that's y I had surgery so I wouldn't have to worry about that stuff " Well u still do. Surgery or not. There is only a very small population that can eat whatever whenever & we r not it! Watch a skinny person eat. They eat small portions & good food.< /p>

betheboo got a reaction from danielle b in Surgery Thursday!!!!
So my surgery is just over 36 hours away On Thursday I will be having brachioplasty with chest wall reduction and lipo...
Just wanted to let people what my lap band doc said about Fluid in my band. My lap band doctor strongly encouraged me to have my band loosened because if I didn't I would be at great risk of aspiration, where the stomach contents come up and go into your lungs, and as you can imagine this would be very bad. Not to mention I need to get more Protein and calories in to heal. So as hard as it was for me to accept I did have 1.5 ml removed today. It was bitter sweet as I hit 120 lbs lost today!
When I told my doc I'd prob be back in a month or two to be tightened back up he told me that if I was maintaining he didn't want me to get a fill as I am so close to goal, 14 lbs away, and my I have lost more than most band patients do and in a short 13 months. Don't know how I feel about that While I was in the waiting room the ladies chatting next to me, who were recently banded, turned to me and said "You don't look like someone who needs to be here, your so thin!". I was happy to tell them that I had the band and that results like mine are possible

betheboo got a reaction from Passionatehrt in Starvation Mode
Here is my personal experience ... @ one point in time I was eating 300 cal/day & doing boot camp work out 4 days a week. I only lost 4 lbs that month! My body I believe did hit a starvation mode.
I now eat 600 cal/day & work out 30 min 1-3 times a week... I ave 12 lbs a month.
Mind you I've lost 113 lbs now & my 1 yr was 4/6
For me if I eat more than 800 cal/day or if I get in a bad diet pop kick I don't loose. But every body is different

betheboo got a reaction from Jen75 in People Tell Me To Stop Loosing.
It's comforting to know that I'm not the only one facing this dilemma. Tonight I was talking with one of the doctors I work with and he said "good grief it seems like you've dropped more weight since I saw you last week! What is your ultimate goal?!" I discussed with him my goal weight of 150 lbs and that I'm still 22 lbs away and he was the first one to say "That is a healthy weight and a very realistic goal" I was like FINALLY someone gets it! I'm not trying to be 98 lbs here... just healthy

betheboo got a reaction from yellowrose88 in Sometimes, They Just Don't Understand.
Don't let people get you down. I've had people hate on me... they tell me "just diet and exercise like everyone else". Welp I'm not everyone else. I did a year with a personal trainer and a year with a interventionist, most I ever lost was 30 lbs and I gained it all back. Lap band gave me the tool I needed to control my addiction to food. I don't regret it for one second!
I didn't do it for other people I did it for myself

betheboo got a reaction from jnbdavies in Help
One day at a time. Hate to point out the obvious but get rid of the diet coke!!!!!! I was naughty and drank diet soda for a long time. I found when I gave it up I dropped weight so much faster! I find when I stray back to my pop habit I slow my weight loss big time. So tea is my drink of choice now. Occassionally I have a pop, like a couple of times a month, but for the most part I stay clear of it.

betheboo got a reaction from Anume 937 in 110 Pounds!!!!
Yest I officially hit 110 lbs lost, in 1 yr and 9 days I am so close to goal, 24 lbs away, and I'm hoping that I'll be there by the end of summer. My band is super tight right now but I am stead fast on keeping it that way until I reach my goal. I had an unfill in Jan and maintained with no gain/loss for 5 weeks before going in for a refill to get my weight loss going again. Since having a refill in early March I've dropped another 20 lbs!
May 3rd I am having brachioplasty so I am anticipating that may stunt my weight loss because of the healing process and I'm prepared for that. Kinda a bummer but I can't wait to see the results!
My goal is to loose another 5 lbs, be in the 160's, before my surgery May 3rd so I am hitting the gym hard and really working on my upper body. I figure the better shape I'm in before surgery the better my results will be.
