  1. About six weeks after my surgery (2/5/10) Tiffykins put me on to a website called www.thinnerself.com. I started tracking there around 3/19. Anyway I started at a BMI of 40.1 which is considered "morbidly obese". By the time I found this website I was "severely obese". I have now passed up the next category which is "obese" and am now considered "overweight". Wow, I never thought I would be so glad to be "overweight" at a BMI of 29.6. That is 57 lbs lost in 4 months! That's not a record by a long shot, but for me, it is amazing. I LOVE MY SLEEVE!

Thanks for the link to this my starting out BMI was 52.5 (super morbidly obese) now 41.8 ( mobidly obese).

Congrat on getting that number lower. Also congrats to Carolyn and AJW.

    Way to go all.:001_smile:

  2. Highest Weight: 335 lbs

    Surgery Wieght: 322 lbs

    Current Wieght: 272 lbs

Not a bad week, the 1 lbs loss was on from Tuesday, then Thursday went on a business trip, one that usually I gained 5-10lbs due to the wining and dining that they do on these trips. So I wasn't watching my diet as closely. But with my wonderful sleeve I didn't gain a a lbs. YAHOO!!! Back to the high Protein and lots of Water.

  3. This is the first time I have an NSV to report. I when on a business trip this week , flew to Mn. by plane, asked as I was broarding the plane for a seat belt extender as I usually have, Sat down in my seat decided to try the seat belt without the extender just to see if it would fit and low and behold it not only fit but I was able to cinch it tighter by 2-3 inched. On the trip home I got daring and tried to put the tray table down (I always try without being able to use it) and it went down flat and I didn't have to force it. I haven't been able to do eithere for more years than I can remember, next time maybe I can get the armrest down to.

  4. yea Brenda! Keep at it. I too am enjoying being able to WALK. I have arthritis in both knees. Got them injected with synvisc one Sept 15. Had my sleeve a month later. I am doing sooooo very good. I am sooo happy.

Weight went up a couple of pounds there for about 3 weeks. Up 3 down 1 Etc.

Now it is back down to 182.

I am back to drinking/eating my Protein.

I believe that makes all the difference, for me.

Getting lots of exercize out doors now too.

Man, it is all sooooo good.

Thanks Carolyn, It's so much easier to walk now with less weight to lug around.

    Surgery Wieght: 322 lbs

    Current Wieght: 275 lbs

Only down 2lbs for the last 2 weeks, I was on trip for 9 days, eating out and not really making some very good choices with food, so I was suprised to see any loss. Did alot of walking. With 60lbs gone it madewalking and stairs so much easier. Got to love the sleeve!!!! Back home and back on the program.

  6. I had my surgery March 29, 2010. I find I am rarely hungry but I don't have any trouble when I do eat. I usually stick to around 4 oz of most foods and don't try to push it. Some days I am able to get enough Protein in without a Protein supplement. I have never been able to tolerate "milky" type shakes but have found 2 that are more "juice like" I do like. One is Weider Good2Go Protein powder in Peach mango also available in Lemon iced tea and another is whey Cooler Cran' Raspberry Coctail. Both have 20 mg Protein. I mixed the Weider product with 1 litre (4 cups) Water and added a Crystal lite individual packet and it tastes fine. I track everything on Daily Plate so it easy to see where I am at re: intake. Good luck. Sandy

Thanks for the suggestion. Where do you get these at?

  7. I look at this thread with hope for the first time in my life. I eat so much, compulsively. As im reading this thread i am yet eating again today, a big bowl of oatmeal and sliced apples. The hunger never ends for me. While i love food and enjoy the taste of what im eating, the constant hunger makes me despise food because i look down at my thighs and belly and look at the toll that this "wonderful food" has taken on my body. And my strong desire for the food makes it so hard to put the fork down and just stop. I don't know what it is like to feel full. I can eat an entire pizza and still have room to go. I am having surgery on Monday, and I am just trying to imagine what it will feel like afterwards. To be full without overeating is just an amazing concept to me.

I feel like you just descibed the story of my life when it came to my relationship with food. Until Jan.19,2010 that is, now I do feel full when I eat.

You to will get that full feeling and after only eating 2 oz. of food.

Congrats and prayers going your way for a safe surgerey and a speedy recovery. Keep us posted on your progress. We'll be moving over to make room on the losers bench for you. Looking forward to watching your progress in this thread.

  9. I used the Atkins premade shakes before surgery and they still taste good to me. I have also used the Nutrilite brand. My favorite is Premier chocolate shakes, I get them at costco. They taste as good as the other two and have double the Protein at 30. I always have one for Breakfast and often have a second one later in the day.

I was using the Premier from costco and took the last box back, loved them at first now can't drink them they make me gag. I tried the Atkins Coffe Mocha and the first 3 were ok the last one just gagged down 1/2 of it then dumped the rest.

Even the unflavored has been a no go.

  10. I have been having the same problem all thou food tastes ok it just don't get hungery and I'm not getting enough of anything. I have been trying to get ing extra Protein using shakes but the ones I liked form the begining now I can stand the taste and can't seem to choke then down. Even the unflavored doesn't taste good. Hope this passes soon. Any sugestions on better tasting Protein Shakes?

Another strange thing is that it feels like I have more restriction now than 3-2 weeks ago, that is when I seem to hve lost any desire to eat. Now I can eat 1/4-1/2 what I was able to eat then.
