Kin d of off topic, but hubby and I sarted smoking eCigs in January and LOVE them. Hubby7's smoked for 17 years and has not had a traditional cig since we got them - I actually get a better hit off my ecig than I did with a regular cig. You guys should give it a go! Our favorites are the Joye eGo-T

I have this issue, too. I've decided it's the underwire or improper fit of my bra. As soon as I'm home I take the wretched device off and feel a million times better. I think it's pushing on my pouch and its very uncomfortable. Sometimes i pull the straps up so my boobs are almost to my chin and i get instant relief. Try that and you'll know it's the bra. HTH!

    8 chicken breasts
    1 onion
    3 cloves garlic
    1 bell pepper
Several jalapenos (I do about 5, the gest cooks out a lot)
1 can diced green chiles (sm)
    2 chicken bouillon cubes
2 lg cans old el paso enchilada sauce
    3 cans black Beans
    .5 bag of frozen corn
    Salt and pepper to taste
dice all the veggies and throw everything in the crockpot. cook 6-8 hours, then pull the chicken and shred it (it falls apart). Put the chicken back in to soak up juices and leave crock pot on low. This takes about an hour, I like to leave it juicy.
I divide this into smaller dishes and freeze it. I take out one dish and it serves about 3 meals for me. I like it with melted cheddar cheese and crushed red pepper, then dipped into sour cream. it's low carb, high Protein and DELICIOUS!
Sorry the measurements aren't exact, I created this recipe and usually just wing it

You can use the PB2 as a paste after you add Water, but the taste isn't like normal Peanut Butter. It's kinda grainy and unsweet, tastes a lot like ground peanuts. I looooove it in homemade shakes, tho - nice Protein kick!

nikki c got a reaction from readyfor50 in Plication Lapband Fills
Forgot to answer: I've had 4 fills total. I've plateaued since march/april. Struggling for every ounce of loss now, but I'm getting really close to goal so I expected it. still frustrating, though.
I have days/weeks when I'm very hungry, then days and weeks when I'm not or my band is too tight to actually eat substantially. When I'm on a hungry streak I just make sure I follow no carb and eat until I'm not hungry. I try not to eat until I'm "full", just until I'm not hungry anymore. I find it's easier to do that if I start with very small portions - like 3 oz of meat instead of 6. 1 piece of cheese instead of 2. I'm still visual, I want to see a clean plate.
Any more questions, I'm happy to help.

I have the same problem. I now limit myself to 1 (large) glass a night when I want it, but I go into it telling myself that I'm only allowing myself to drink because I will NOT allow myself to eat after consuming alcohol. I eat dinner before, and nothing after alcohol. thats my rule..out works for me

Denise, you sure are doing a lot of research today!!! Keep it coming! LOVING IT! Had I seen these stats before and been UNINFORMED, I would be scared. However, I know that success can happen with the band, as evidenced by all the forum members I have seen here have incredible success. I'm not big on statistics anyway, because, you can never be sure how someone is going into surgery. They could be thinking they can continue their ways and the band will do all the work--but I know I am going to change.

US trials will NOT make me change my opinion on plication, for the better or worse. Look at US "safety" and Phen-Fen. What a joke. It's all about the right person getting their palms greased. On the other hand, having lived all over the world, just because other countries do not have FDA type standards does not make them less safe. Sometimes the FDA's feet dragging has led to many deaths because someone needed a medicine that the FDA wouldn't approve because they were not finished with their tests. The FDA says that the person may die without their tests, but if the person is going to die anyway, where is the safety in that if the drug is their last chance?!
Most days I am happy with my plication, some days though not so much. I was feeling pretty bad last week, but turns out it's something that has nothing really to do with the plication. I know that it hasn't been "everything to everyone", but I think it's something that everyone needs to make their mind up about. It IS good to have the negative info out there, to help us make up our minds, but if someone decides to do it and is happy, then that's pretty good evidence too. All weight loss surgeries (and all surgeries period) were experimental at one point. Part of me thinks it is interesting to be a lab rat. Part of me doesn't like it. Time will tell, but even with "tried and true" weight loss surgeries some people have failures-hence all the revision surgeries out there if you look at other boards. I am sorry you had an appalling experience, and hope you can figure out something (surgery or non-surgery) that helps you in the future!

I don't know, I think that this procedure is so new that Dr.’s don't have much to go on In terms of weight loss and complication data.
Dr.’s are pretty much using us" the ones interested in plication" to practice on. And as you can read on most blogs
only a small percentage of people are happy with it. But, in the long run they don't feel the same way as they did initially.
The US is on trials until 2013 to see if this is safe to use as a weight loss surgery procedure..
And the reports overseas are not very accurate, because they don't have the resource to fallow the people who have had plication done.

I am band over plication and I love it. It's the best thing I even did! Was operated on on 6/27 and had no complications. I had a huge hernia and that did cause me pain afterwards.
I am eating about 1/4 - 1/8 of what I used to. I wake up and weigh myself everyday, and almost every morning i'm down a pound. When I did WW I used to pray to lose one pound a week! Now it's DAILY!!
My doctor plans on filling my band in my 4th week. He wants me feeling little to no hunger. I already have excellent restriction, though. I was torn bw band plication, VSG or just the band. I'm so happy I chose band plication!

I'm very open with everyone that I'm having surgery, and have been met with great support. Of course, those who know me know the strugle i've had to lose weight. I just don't understand why people feel the need to hide that they've had surgery? I'd love for someone to come at me and say it's "the easy way" or "cheating". they'd get a real piece of my mind!
even those who i don't know well are receptive and not judgement about my surgery. Are there really that many people who give such hateful feedback?
    Just curious...

Well, seeing as I've had both the lap band and now I'm sleeved I can tell you I truly love being sleeved far more. I won't get into details out in the open simply because this is a Lap Band support website and I must respect that, and I absolutely do.

I just wanted to say that elfiepoo and biriniak both had excellent responses and are very spot on. I always just like to say, the lap band IS NOT reversible. It is removable... then again there have been some where that is not entirely true either.
    Questions: PM me.

To me, the band is a tool to help control hunger and Portion Control. If I were able to cut out things for a lifetime I wouldn't have had this done. I think what is healthy, is to submit to a more healthy way of eating. On occasion, having a treat but always knowing this is 'our' battle. I know that once I reach my goal weight I still can NOT go back to eating as I was or I will weigh as much as I do. This is a journey to a new you, a new eating style and a completely different life style. IMHO, a doctor who says that has no idea what a person who has to lose weight is going through. I would say portions, exercise and moderation is the key to being sucessful. But thats just me
