    When:
Your boobs are bigger than your belly
You take up sewing just so you can cut 3 inches of fabric off each side of your favorite shirts and resew them and wear them
You don't have to shop in plus size anymore
You can comfortably wear a pair of sexy high heels

Coops girl...missed ya! That is awesome about your son doing the NY thing. Prayers for a safe trip!
Florinda, if you are going to be anywhere near Denver for the wedding let me know!
I'm 4 years post-op TODAY! And if I'm being honest, I'm only maintaining around a net-65 loss. Boo. But I can't say that I'm all that upset about it because I know myself and I know that statistically and realistically, MOST patients do in fact regain "some" weight after hitting their lowest post-op weight. But it's still not an easy pill to swallow. One thing I've decided to quit beating myself up about is that "low" weight. If I'm being honest, I only hit it ONE time when I was about 18 months post-op. So yes, technically it was my "low" weight, but realistically it was a one-time-low-bounce time for me and I really maintained about 7-10lbs higher for MOST of the time that I was near that weight. Anyway, I've definitely gained weight this year BOO, but in the grand scheme of things, I would NEVER NEVER NEVER go back to the way I was before surgery. Did this surgery allow me to lose some weight and gain some perspective YEP YEP YEP. If they had told me at the beginning you would only lose -30, -40, -60 lbs would I have still gone through with it. YES. (Plese don't get me wrong, I think it's upsetting that someone who really has about 30lbs to lose would do this surgery that is NOT something I'm on-board with ...for instance someone who is 5'6" weighs 180lbs and they want to weigh 140lbs...I do NOT think that this surgery is designed for that type of person but I digress...)
I'm happy I had surgery and I feel like it has been a big gift and a blessing in my life. I would do it all over again even knowing what I know now...and what I know now is that this is certainly not the easy way out. The struggle is real...but I'm thankful I have a group of ladies to take the journey with and who GET IT!

Hiya all... sorry I've not posted much... been on the thread and reading.
Life is very busy at the moment... work is crazy and my energy levels are at zero.
Not been doing great with the 5:2 - once a week I get a fast in but not more than that... all good intentions are going awol at the moment.  Not exercised either, as much as I 'want' to my motivation is zero too!  I don't know how to get it back?  I am fed up of 'trying hard' without any results... I am not happy with maintaining when I want/need to  lose more ... *sighs*

On a lighter note my son is going to NY tomorrow... he leaves home at 3am and will arrive at JFK 6am... I am sooo envious of him.  Not sure if you remember but my daughter was in NY when Sandy hit... let's hope there is no hurricane for Hywel to deal with this time!

I have been wondering about laura ven. Did she just decide she was wasting too much time on the internet? I always thought she'd come back.
I am a wee nervous about my date tomorrow.

Sounds yummy! I made a cake yesterday with half einkorn and half besan flour. Low Gluten, good Protein, with prunes and almond slivers, a little molasses, and as a surprise studded with a few drk chocolate covered ginger pieces. Yummy for sure!

M2G, have you ever looked up the calories burned running errands? It's more than you think, don't beat yourself up.
I made paleo muffins today, pumpkin spice using coconut flour! Pumpkin puree (made mine from scratch) Coconut flour ( wow you really only need the teeniest bit), eggs, honey, salt, baking soda and the spices, that's it! I jazzed them up with a bit of shaved dark chocolate and if you really wanted to go all the way there is a frosting (greek yogurt whipped with maple syrup). All in all, it is a low glycemic, non-inflammatory, high Fiber, good Protein snack that I can feel good about. Also, they are so packed with real whole foods that they are incredibly filling and satisfying and keep away the "need" to mindlessly gorge. thumbs up! I got the recipe from Comfybelly, in case anyone is curious, it is a site dedicated to eating without grains, particularly wheat.

The headstone is lovely, and that is a great way to honor his love of trucks.
I love Chelenka's suggestions Lisa. Take small steps. Do one good thing for yourself today. Sending you a hug and praying for you...

Dear Lisa: my heart goes out to you. You have been so incredibly brave and strong in facing your husband's death and caring for him. I think you may be experiencing PTSD. I went thru this after the death of my brother with whom I was very close. He suffered greatly and I was there with him. Here are some suggestions.
    1. If you haven't already please find a grief counselor or group to attend.
    2. Try an antidepressant medication to see if it helps you.
    3. Don't buy anymore fudge-sickles, you are in an addiction-like behavior.
    4. Try to take small, positive steps in your self-care. Drink some ensure, take your Vitamins and supplements, have one meal of real food, take a 1/2 hour walk; whatever you feel will help.
    5. Write in a journal everything you are feeling and all your memories of your husband. Try to write about the joyful times you had together and all the things about him that you loved. Try to shift your focus away from all that he suffered. He would not want you to be stuck in those memories and would want you to remember him in his prime.
I have no doubt he is an angel now watching over you. Try to feel the love of his presence in your life, even though his physical life has ended.
I hope my thoughts are helpful to you.

Thank you so much. I had his headstone set yesterday. It was a hard day. I'm so upset. I miss him more than I can even express. I'm still gaining weight. Lord, I need help. I'm not eating just still drinking the sugar in coffee and eating fudgesicles. So basically. I'm addicted to sugar but only the kind I drink or like I said fudgesicles. My PCP did labs and told me my metabolism is non existent. I need to get out and walk and stop the stupid fudgesicles!! Pray for me. I'm so scared I'm going to gain back ALL of my weight. :'( He was 48. His birthday is coming up next month. God help me love myself because he wouldn't want this for me. Here is a picture of his stone. He loved his trucks. He built them from the frame up. The one on the stone is his last project. A 1949 Chevrolet. God I miss him.

I had a fantastic weekend, the dog and I drove upstate and we went to 7 different national and state wildlife reserves to birdwatch. Heavenly.....except for the doggie who was completely mental most of the time. She would wine, pant, bark and generality beg on me for food and who knows what most of the time. Usually she runs out of steam and just wants a ride in the dog stroller or dog pappoose (sp?) but not this time, she wanted to walk all of the time... that goes for when she was in the car as well. When we got home, she crashed for 12 hours in her bed.... little ragbag almost became cougar food!

It was beautiful though, lots of nature, and the fields and fields of walnut trees, alfalfa and other crops were beautiful too. BUT I ate at restaurants the whole time, with Starbucks in-between for coffee/pastery and wifi... I gained 2 pounds Fasting today.... Mom in law coming tomorrow.... wish me luck!
