  1. Thanks Prolific. Sleevless4now, you will be placed on a special diet after your surgery. All doctors have some variations in their diets, but most follow a typical pattern from clear liquid to full liquid to puree/soft to regular foods. I've been on a regular diet since about 8 weeks postop. I had to wait a little longer for some foods likes nuts and watermelon. It really wasn't that bad with my particular doctor's diet. I posted my postop diet under my blog if you want to view it. As far as follow up visits, I went at 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks, 3 months, 6 months. After that, I thinks it's once a year. Feel free to send me any other questions.

  2. I went through the same thing last week.. I am just convincing myself it's probably due to muscle building (now that I'm walking more and much more active) rather than not losing weight. I'd trade muscle for fat ANY DAY. Since you posted this almost a month ago, I'd like to know how are you doing now..

    Things have picked back up nicely in terms of my weight loss. I think that adding in protein supplements on a regular basis made the difference. I've been losing 10+ pounds per month since I broke my stall.

  3. I pray that I will be able to reach the same peace with myself a year from now that you have reached. To be glad that you made such a drastic (positive) change in your lifestyle and feel pride in yourself for following through has got to be an awesome feeling. Oh Lord, my mouth is watering again :-}

    Thanks for all of your great updates and pics of your personal journey. It's a wonderful resource for those of us who haven't crossed over yet.

  4. It's funny that I came across this blog today because I actually talked to my WLS therapist today about how I'm going to deal with the extra attention I'm sure to get after I start losing weight. I'm definitely stressing about this in the back of my mind because I've never been one to like too much attention from others, especially when it comes to my appearance. It sounds like you've come up with some good techniques to deal with this kind of stuff.

    I'm thinking about running away to a whole new state and starting a new life as a normal-sized person where nobody thinks anything about what I do and what I look like. Then I won't have to deal with the food police, weight police, exercise police, and whoever else rears their ugly head. (Heavy sigh!) Guess I need to get through the surgery part first before I start worrying too much about the after-effects...
