To tell or not to tell...

That is EXACTLY why I chose to tell NOBODY except the hubby!! Right now, it is "oh you look so great and are so dedicated" "you work so hard" "you eat so healthy" "you workout everyday" "you should be so proud" If they knew, it would be "you took the easy way out" "no wonder you lost so much weight" "I would lose 100lbs too if I had my stomach removed" People are ignorant and I don't have time for stupitidy! NO LONGER DIABETIC!!!!

YAY Apple!! That is AWESOME!! My A1C's were 7.8 before my surgery. I have not taken my meds since a week after surgery and I will have my labs done again in November. My glucose levels are in the 80's daily!!! I can not wait to see what my A1C's are now! CONGRATS again! Keep up the good work! Kelly

    mashed Sweet potatoes

just get a sweet potato and bake it in the microwave like you would a potato. then put some butter on it and you will have mashed sweet potato!! that is what i do. YUMM YUMM!! only word of advice is that they do cook faster than a regular potato, so watch them. Kelly
  6. 108lbs down and rewarded myself with Invisalign. I wore retainers when I was young and didn't finish treatment, so my teeth relapsed. I am so excited to have straight teeth again! AND, my dentist did it for 1/2 price!

    Remove steri-strips?

Absolutly NOT!! YOu have to leave them on until they fall off. They WILL fall off when they are ready to. Don't worry, they will. I think mine did about 2 1/2 or 3 weeks out. Kelly
  8. Nicely done Chris!! Kelly

    Vomit!

That is why we are supposed to eat SLOWLY!! It take a few minutes to realize that we are full. If you wait a minute or two in between bites, you will know when you are truly done and will not feel that way. It will also help if you measure your food. If you are supposed to not eat more than 1/2 cup at this point, then measure that amount out and eat slowly. You will NEVER feel that way if you measure and eat slowly!!! I am almost 5 months out and have never done that because I measure all my food and eat slowly. I guess you would only do it once tho if it hurts that bad! Feel better! Kelly
  10. Good for you!! Keep up the good job! Kelly
  11. do what your dr. says. they have guidelines for a reason! Kelly
  12. It is easier the futher out you go because you are able to eat more. Try doing 15-20g at each meal! That will get you there. Kelly

    If you could....

NEVER!! I think you will find very FEW people on here that regret their decision on the sleeve and the ones that do, are fairly early in the game and are thinking "what have I done", which pretty much everyone does at some point. But that soon passes once we get healed up and learn how to live with the new tummy! I would do it again 100 times over. Kelly

    First Exercise Challenge Met

That post made me smile. Good for you! I remember when that was me. I could not walk either without getting out of breath and feeling like my legs were going to give out on me! I want you to know that you WILL get to the point where you can and will want to walk forever! I now walk and run 5 miles at a time and never even think about it. This sleeve is such a blessing!! Hugs, Kelly

    For the smokers

I quit smoking long before I considered WLS, but I used the Nicoderm CQ patches and I must say, THEY WORK!! Go buy a box at Walmart and put one on. They totally take the edge off!! You can do it. The first week is the WORST. Don't give in, it is all down hill after that first week! Good luck to you! Kelly

How long did you wait to drive?

I was told I could drive the day after stopping the pain meds. So, I drove about 3 days after my surgery because I did not take pain medication after leaving the hospital. Kelly
  22. I don't, never have. I would say no because of the caffeine and aren't they carbonated too? Carbonation is not supposed to be good for our sleeve either. Kelly

So this is what is feels like???

I was amazed when I first experience my restriction. 3, yes, 3 bites of cream of chicken soup-thinned when I went to full liquids. I was so blown away that I could get full on so little. BUT, that is what we sign up for! Kelly
  24. Simply AMAZING. Good job and good for you!! Kelly
