  1. I'm being banded this Friday, and I keep imagining what it's going to feel like not being fat. I've been this way for 25 years. I have no clue how it feels to be a "normal-sized" adult. As I was learning my identity, forming my personality, etc, I was always the fat girl. I was wondering if that feeling ever goes away.

BEST WISHES And CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU......I TOO AM DEALING WITH THOSE EXACT THOUGHTS...........but with God's help I will get over that hump sooner than later:)

and also better decision making on my health awareness

  3. Wow........ Well best believe that I'm on it........I found each post response to be informative and extremely helpful.....Best believe that it won't be going in one ear and out the other.......i finally got a hold of the Greek yogurt and it is so delicious....Now i gotta pick up a better Protein Drink cause i no longer care for the Isopure....thats probably why it seemed like i could live without the Protein but i just need to get the better tasting Protein Drinks when I'm on the go and can't get to healthy type of chicken or fish.....and i gotta also go on fitday sounds informative.......THANKS EVERYONE YOU ALL INSPIRE ME TO THE FULLEST.......BE BLESSED HEALTHY HAPPY AND LEAN:)

  4. I'm trying to start a tread on this topic.....all feed back is helpful to say the least and Thank You in advance... So yesterday i had my first fill in my A.P. Lapband.....size 13 cc band 2 cc was put in it....Anyway i was told to consume at least 82 g of Protein daily by the physician assistant at my office......great office by the way....but i guess I'm wondering does the protein really make a difference in weight loss and how do you get that much protein in one day?? Any suggestions or ideas will be great.....

  5. Ugh, I've ate so terrible today! Breakfast was fine, Luna Protein Bar, lunch homemade vegetable Soup (veggies only V-8 low sodium) so all that was fine.....then I went to Walmart....bought terrible Snacks and ate them all on the way home. (Didn't want anyone to know, my husband has been so supportive and is even sad, I'm going to be losing my curves) What I ate was a Kit-kat, Mars bar, and a 1dollar bag of chips :( Wed I will be banded 2 wks.

    I'm such a food addict.

Absolutely not...I won't stand for it.....I did much worst... I had my surgery 2-28-11 and have lost 15lbs or so and that was after eating two days after surgery like four fried shrimp.......a mexican pizza from taco bell like a week later.......fries nuggets but in some cases small portions.....but cha gotta give credit where credit is due.....Like i have had no soda in over a month plenty Water i think and Protein and lots of grilled salmon and i try to make it to the gym three times a week.....right now I'm headed to Zumba one girl says she loses at least two pounds from that class,,,for fun since you have a computer you should pull up Zumba dance on youtube.com if you are worried about not being successful with Lapband.....but it was so darn hard and still is over the weeks you should automatically notice the cravings just die down...sure you'll want an occassional treat to me there is no harm in that and this was a big transition for us all so on that note don't be so hard on yourself you are only human and you'll be fine

  6. we have so much in common........to start my moms name is Claudia...Awesome name okay now back to the subject at hand i was banded on 2-28-11 i initially wanted the gastric bypass but there were complications and prior to surgery i consented to get the lap band if need be and so here i am for a reason... so with all the stress and worry that went towards surgery you would think that i would obey all the instructions #1 liquid diet for two week....i didn't by day four i had indulged in three jumbo fried shrimp and the next day five mcdonalds fries and one nugget and my stomach and shoulder would be so crampy and annoying so i read walking help vigorous walking so i joined the gym got a trainer cause some of the after op pics had extra skin from weight loss and so far so good sneeky junk food my dumb self had gotten depressed and consumed a whole mex pizza and i'm keeping off the weight for sure get the Protein drinks and food to try and supplement i did a broccoli carrot onion and peas Soup with garlic powder and olive oil sooooo delicious but do your best try to be active it helps with the pain mines is gone nobody is perfect....sorry for rambling my starting weight 265lbs-255lbs goal weight 140lbs.....i think Portion Control via lap band and calories not exceeding 1800 per day is keeping the scale to lower no sodas crystal light is our best friend and Water good luck sweetheart you'll be fine minimal indulges your only human my total lost so far is 11lbs no fill yet but soon i'm making it happen surprisingly and take Zumba if u can it will devour taco bell burning those calories if u want

  7. My surgery was on Monday the 14th and I go back to work tomorrow Monday the 21st. I feel great, but I really dread going back to work. I think I have spring fever lol. I live Ga. and the last few days the weather has been amazing! I wish I had taken FMLA instead of vacation I could have probably squeezed at least another week out of it. Oh well! I am a little worried about the liquid diet that I am on. I have a desk job in a busy office and sometimes bathroom breaks are few and far between if you know what I mean (liquid in liquid out).

I can certainly relate to the Spring fever and i have online classes....but ever since my surgery 2/28/2011. I can't seem to get it together...but lately I've been reassuring myself that I'm still working on my health family and career......Anyway the best of luck and success with your band, family and career.....
