    The 5:2 Diet

I know what you mean, Kim! I have worn a Fitbit One for that last year or so then took it off in December for specific reason. Felt lost without it. I bought a Fitbit Charge and love it! Also tracks my sleep and caller id. I really check my steps a whole lot more and am conscious of moving. And likewise on the pound. I've got 3-4. Lose them on fast days at end week them sabotage myself weekend and they are back. Good fast day yesterday and two of four are gone again. ????. Hopefully, I'll successfully lose them for good this week and have a better wknd!

As many said, once we get to the place where we become the caregiver/overseer/parent for our parents it is extremely difficult to deal with emotionally. It was for me. It takes a toll on us and formerly, we would compensate with food. Thankfully, even if you stumble, you have learned to handle it and your sleeve helps out. Sending love to you both. Sheila, SOOO good to hear from you. Boy, I do NOT envy you the two hour commute. I have one hour each way but only three days week, thankfully. Denise!! I'm in agreement. You really need to get to a wound specialist. I'm so sorry to hear this has flared up again. Yeah, Kim and Sheryl, I'm certainly not doing as well YET on non-fast days. Way too easy to sabotage myself! I really need to lose these 20 pounds again!!! That would put me back in the high 140s where I really feel good. Florinda , I'm going to look at that link. No idea what that is. And Cathy, going to see if I can find a YouTube or google that program. Sounds interesting. Happy Tuesday, All!

    The 5:2 Diet

Michiganchic, isn't that weird?!! I'm sure your is mostly edema but really, why is it so freaking hard to LOSE the weight we can seemingly put in so quickly! Ha! It's ree dic u laus, as my Dad used to say! And yes, it's true, our bodies handle calories/carbs/food differently now I believe so our threshold is lower. If I'm AT GOAL and trying to maintain anywhere in the neighborhood of 1300 I WILL gain! Slowly but gain. But then again, I stopped exercising as much either. ???? I'm just tired and stressed somewhat right now And I tend to want to just lay!!!! LOL. EXCUSES EXCUSES EXCUSES. But we will persevere, right gang? Hey, Lynda, where art though and HOW art thou?

    The 5:2 Diet

I just weighed this morning and after two fast days and pretty good non-fast days I'm down 4 pounds over the last two weeks. I'll take it! I'm being honest- not nearly as easy this time as last but I'm thinking it's because I allowed myself to eat so much junk and really "graze" all day. On a good note, though, I am enjoying the taste of REAL FOOD so much. Veggies, a few fruits I allow myself now and again are delightful. ????. I'm especially on a cabbage craving kick right now. Ha! Although, I had a piece of birthday cake for my Grand's 10th BD last night I had included in calories so came in about 650. High for a fast day for me but so much better than previous weeks! It's all good. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. I am going on a wknd jaunt with my YAYA girls. There are five of us long time/lifetime friends and we've done MLK wknd for several years now. Hopefully, it will be decent food wise since most of us are trying to be health conscious. Just a "pj", veg out weekend but I hope to get some walking in.

Kelly, really good to hear from you. Sorry to hear about the plague ???? y'all are experiencing. This seems to be a year of very weird viruses all around. The 5:2 Diet

Well, 3:00 on second fast day and I'm sitting at 160 calories so that's good but, boy, I really can't get over how much I want to eat! Didn't seem to have that problem earlier but I'm thinking it's because I ate so much sugar prior to starting during the last couple months. At least, that's what I'm hoping. I don't get shaky either usually. I can get shaky, though, on a regular day if I have a blood sugar drop which occurs with me now and then.
  17. I'm 4 years 7 months out. I'd be lying if I said I eat correctly all the time. I regained about 27 pounds somewhere around end of year three. Lost all my regain using 5:2 Intermittent Fasting. In the last 8 months, I've allowed myself to add back about 15 pounds so tightening up and gaining control and utilizing 5:2 again. With that said, you just have to keep in mind that this is a TOOL not a easy fix. Like it was said, sliders ALWAYS slide and ANYBODY gains weight eating junk!

How was your 5:2 day today?

I'm glad to feel more in control too, Sheryl. I was so busy during the holidays I just allowed myself any and everything- mostly chocolate and junk were my "go to" stress relievers. ???? I did have a bad SUNDAY afternoon. Cold, sleety weather that I lay on the couch and ate too many Biscoff cookies (the ones I happened upon in the pantry ????). So cleared out most junk, filled fridge and snacks with good healthy stuff. Had a good fast day today. Had really good chicken stir fry for dinner brought me to 615 less 99 for exercise. Net profit 576. I'll take it! How's everybody doing? Been very quiet last few days?

    The 5:2 Diet

I eat thin sliced deli turkey rolled up with 2% cheese slice (half in each) for a "go to". Only 100 calories for 6 slices and 1 slice cheese makes two rollups. I had chicken stirfry tonight. Birdseye oriental veggies (1 cup 50 calories ) and 2 ounces diced chicken breast 75 calls. I keep the Butterball turkey sticks on hand. Only 20 cals a stick and good. I actually don't worry too much about carbs. I try to eat lower carb but maintain low calories 500-600)

    The 5:2 Diet

As for me, I did so good last week Til SUNDAY when I completely fell off the Wagon! My 3 pound loss kinda disappeared. I'm hoping when I weigh tomorrow morning after good fast today, it will reappear. ???? 605 cal less 99 for exercise. I'll take it!!

    The 5:2 Diet

I can fully understand your frustration. With that said, I know MANY of us who cannot eat above 800-1000 to lose. I Never ate more than that and most of the time below that reaching goal. I, for one, don't think you go into starvation mode if you are eating SMART and getting enough protein. There are those using 5:2 who have fought for every pound lost after reaching a certain point. I know Sheryl Has said she literally FOUGHT Hard for the last 50 pounds with very extremely low carbs. FYE has had to fight to and it's taken a couple of years! Again, each of us is different. Lynda has said for her to lose she cuts to 800 calories a day. For me, I lost 27 pounds of regain last year using 5:2 but I had to be VERY STRINGENT AND EAT CLEAN in the rest of the week to continue to lose. And I know that if I get above 1200/1300 I WILL and have gained. ???????? You got this! We can do it!
