How was your 5:2 day today?

Well, I've finally gotten to log on to BP! Have to admit, it really hasn't been a priority lately not because I don't love all you girls!! I really do but just got tired of it all for a few weeks and then we had BABY NO #1! Hims so precious! My first GrandBOY! Still feels somewhat surreal and we had some complications along the way with my daughter so it's been quite hectic for the last couple of weeks. I'll attach some photos so you can see Elton John Ray Crochet!! The baby was partially transverse so after pushing for over two hours they did an emergency C Section at which point the surgeon sliced through Amanda's bladder! They had to call in a Urologist to do the repair and she had to go home days later with a catheter for 10 days!! Just had the test run and all looks good so they removed the catheter and she is doing well. EJ (baby) doing great as well! As for me, I just totally lost all desire and willpower! I truly just went into "junk" overload! Surprisinly, I haven't gained any EXTRA weight from what I had ALREADY gained. So, I'm back on track "for this week" and like all of you have said, it sure comes off much slower and with MUCH more work and MUCH less food! CGJ, I agree - sometimes I really want to just be able to EAT the foods I used to like to eat and enjoy them. I can eat small amounts, of course, and for that I am TRULY grateful, but the real taste of anything is just not there for me. EXCEPT junk! Candy, Cake, chips, etc!! Kim, I am in the 80% of EWL and at 5 years out (as of 6-10), I'll take it!!! I agree with others who have said it - I/we need to just "chill" somewhat and enjoy being where we are right now. Most of us are STILL a LOT of pounds down from where we started and even if we are not at goal, it's still truly amazing that we have done so well! I do intend to lose back to my original goal frame which means I need to lose about 15 pounds to be at the lowest. Love you all!! Will try to stay more connected - although, we have BABY TWO due in 2 weeks!!

How was your 5:2 day today?

Hey, Gang! Sorry it has been so long. I've just kinda been in a "head stuck in the sand" kinda mode for last few weeks. I've read most of your info and see that many of us seem to be a bit down - I know I am - like Kim said, it's insidious. When I look at it overall, I know I SHOULDN'T be and MANY have it a lot worse but that doesn't make it seem much better. I even got back on my Zoloft (my daughter and husband said GET ON IT! and have been on for a week or so. Hopefully, that will help take the "edge off". It's not debilitating but it is affecting me overall. I'm 20 pounds up from goal - the same 20 pounds I lost almost two years ago now and that's irritating. Family stress going on that has made a lot of anxiety. I'm back to modified 5:2 this week - did really good for a few weeks and lost about 5 pounds - got off track on travel and poof! right back! LOL It's not hard to do while I'm working but if I'm home, I really want to munch/snack all day long! On other news, my daughter is 37 weeks now and DIL 34 weeks! We have babies coming soon!!!! Elton Jon Ray Crochet and Iris Grace Smith!! Makes for a busy summer - throw in the other three "Grands" and life is very busy!! They say it will keep me young!! Here's hoping. Anyway, thanks for thinking of me, Kathy and Kim and others. Thankful that we have a "safe place" to spill and re-energize. Love to all!

How was your 5:2 day today?

Hey, All! I've managed to "catch up" to all the last few weeks that I hadn't read. Sounds like everyone is dealing with pretty much all the same thing. We've all regained some and dealing with LIFE issues. One of my daily Devotionals said it really well for me and hit me smack in the face! "Stop fantasizing about an uncluttered life and accept each day as it comes and find Me in the midst of it!" For me, that spoke volumes. I think I have gone through a lot over the past years and felt, "Okay, why can't I just have a peaceful, settled life?" LOL. Yeah, right!! I have managed to get myself back on track and shed 6 pounds but still need to lose another 10-12. I've found that using protein shakes (I Never did before) and upping my protein and exercise has helped me get back to manageable routine. Broke the constant snacking/grazing finally. I really want to get this extra off before Summer. And I'm in agreement, even at weight I was before I'm not as Small As I was. At least, that's what my tops tell me. I immediately add boobs and gut! ???? Have fun CGJ! Envious! Coops, like Globe maybe a different brand of something. Difficult to watch them grow old, isn't it? Dee, APRIL FOOLS! Ha! My scale will do that to me sometimes. OD, what a mess!! Praying your pain ceases and the attorney usable to help you out.
  6. Okay, I am 22 no out, in maintenance, and my stomach is SOO LOUD now with gurgling sounds etc that it is embarrassing at times. Today I went to have a massage and OMG, I know the lady thought I was nuts! Last night laying in the bed my husband said , " What is that NOISE?!!!!". Lol. Anybody else experience this. Seems mine has gotten louder as time goes on

    EXTREMELY low metabolism

I know just what you mean. I'm five years and unless I'm super vigilant also I will gain. With that said, I HAVE gained because of wrong food choices and junk/sliders. ????. I am losing it now but, ultimately, I still can eat a max of about 1300-1350 cals a day CLEANLY but at least I still have great restriction IF I follow the rules ????. And I'm 61 also so I'm not as active as I could or should be.

    sleeve reset was successful

Frozen Foods Month – The WLS Way!

Great article! I also like to have low sodium thin slices mesquite turkey and 2% cheese for rollups. Quick, low carb and easy. Also 100 cal packs of guacamole (wholly guacamole or Marketside) and cut up red pepper for "chips" or cucumber slices. I always keep the Morningstar crumbles in hand. Use in chili, soups, casseroles. Awesome. And I also love the lean cuisine meals. Thanks, Alex. Great article.

Almost 5 years out- too late for reset?

I am right there with you since I am 3 months away from my 5 year anniversary with sleeve. And I can attest to "all of the above"- grazing, bad food choices with the exception of the bulimia thoughts. Although, I sure wish I still had my diuretic for a quick 5 pound loss ????. And I, not at 11 stone. My goal is 150 and I'm at 170! Totally disgusted with myself because I've done this in the past year! Just got really tired, stressed from family cares and winter blahs. Plus at 61, you don't bounce back as quickly fm stuff. Enough excuses. I've used 5:2 in the past to lose and get back on track. Think I'll try the 2:3:2 someone mentioned and try total liquid high Protein with added kale etc for a couple days and then Low carb 2:3:2. We can do this. I've GOT to do this. I did this for health to start with. Dear Lord, I sure can't afford to lose it now! Plus I feel like crap and want to wear my skinny Spring clothes!!!

What do Yall think about this? Especially Kim, you've done some research. I know I need to do some probiotic. Think there is anything different for us versus regular ones?

How was your 5:2 day today?

Sheryl, my hubs was "down for the count" for over a week with flu. Fever 103 so take care! I, now, have the nasty in the bed kind of cold too! Miserable. Denise, glad to hear you finally got someone to do something. I think you mentioned surgery. What exactly did they do? Sarah, bless your heart. Sounds like you and your family have a LOT on your plates right now. We went through Altzheimers with my husband's Mom. One funny story we just have to stop and laugh at even now since most of the time there are not many laughs. He was over sitting with Her one afternoon and she kept taking her gown and fanning it up and down over her head. Not course, she was "bare" beneath it. Clyde said when he came home, "I've seen things I never ever wanted to see on my Mother!" We laughed until tears ran down our faces. Both his Mom and Him were/Are very private individuals. ????. But her "boy" was there with her anyway! We have had miserable very cold, icy weather all week and I'm seriously now ready for Spring!!!!
  14. Not sure why this is happening

    The 5:2 Diet

Okay, here's my fast day dinner. (Small plate). Chicken stir fry . Mostly veggies. 1 cup cooked Birdseye oriental frozen is 50. I have about 1-2 ounces of chicken. (1.5 oz is 50 Tyson Grilled and Ready oven roasted chicken) so that's about 100-110 calories

How was your 5:2 day today?

Your post cracked me up! Cookie Monster! LOL I'm in agreement with all about finding a place of acceptance. I know for me, though, where I feel really good is around 145-150 and need to get back there and HOLD IT. At my age, I am also starting to worry about long term health also - even at a lower weight and bmi if I allow myself now to start consuming too much sugar and carbs I could still wind up "in the ditch" so to speak healthwise. Coops, I love to decorate also. I'm constantly redoing something even if its only bed linens etc. Now, I'm going to repaint my bedroom and a couple other rooms and need to refloor both upstairs bedrooms which are carpet. Yuk! Rest of house if hardwood which is so much cleaner and easier to KEEP clean. I'm also not having much movement (except up!) on the scales. I am wobbling up and down 3-4 pounds so I guess I've established for myself a SET POINT - at a higher than I like weight!!! I have upped my exercise so hopefully, I'll get some results if I can get back on a good eating routine consistently. Denise, I'm so sorry to hear about this latest infection. Had great hopes that it was over and done with but glad to hear that something else is in the works (MRI) Hopefully, this will give them some answers and you some permanent relief! Nothing is worse than things dragging on and on!

    The 5:2 Diet

Sounds like a plan! Remember, if you get really hungry before one drink something hot like a tea or cup of coffee with a low cal sweetener. I've found something hot curbs hunger for me. Good luck and I'm fasting with you today!!

    The 5:2 Diet

Me too. Only. Only 2 net carbs 110-110 calories and its delist! I like the dark chocolate. And FYE taught me to mix a cup of coffee with and ice it down like an iced coffee and make it last. Lovely.

Glad to hear all is well in the NW and CA at least where Yall are. Sheryl, I agree! Use that honeymoon period for all its worth!!!!! I remember when I couldn't eat bread/biscuits. ????. Those were the good old days. LOL

    Fitness Trackers?

I have a good one for you all. I have a Fitbit Charge. After getting it adjusted to non dominant settings it became much more reliable as far as steps THEN when I was playing the keyboard during worship at church Sunday my charge started vibrating. And guess what??!! I hit my 5000 step goal. ????????????. Um, not walking or moving except my arms going up and down quite forcefully. Hum. Now what? By the end of the day I had about 11,000 steps of which about 5-6000 were actual. ????

    The 5:2 Diet

Truth, Sheryl. I'm not making many 500 cals either but a lot of 600-700 too. And that's a LOT better than I was. And MichiganChic, truth! We know they would be days we would most likely be gaining even with non perfect fast days.
