    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Hello everyone - I have been out of the loop for a while and it is so good to see everyone doing so well and sharing their good and bad experiences so we all can learn from them - I am happy to say that I have lost a total of 54 lbs since my surgery on 3/1/07. I had to go today and get .3 cc taken out - I was really tight and had problems with liquids going down. I'm glad to say I am doing better now. My band has 2.4 cc's in it and I think that is going to be my "sweet spot". I can eat what I want but in very small portions. To me that is a good thing. I don't feel like I'm on a diet with the band. The band just helps me control my intake. If I want a piece of cake I eat it, but a very small piece. I have pizza with the kids - but I don't eat the crust. I Love my band. Alot of people don't even know that I have it and can't tell because I still eat, but in moderation. Well good luck all - will post again soon.

Hello everyone, It's Veronica. I've been out of the loop for awhile. But I'm doing really good. I started at 200, now down to 167. I go for my 3rd fill on tomorrow. My first fill was 1.2, then I went for a 2nd fill which was 1.2, I went back for 3rd fill but he said I was to tight. I had been eating a lot of soup and creamy salad dressings. He said that was not good. A lot of empty calories. So he unfilled me 1.2, so now I only have 1.2. I hope I get my restriction back. 2.4 was doing me good. The soups were just so easy to do. I will post later. Thanks all.

Hello Everyone: I haven't posted in 4EVER. Sorry, my life seems like it's been on a roller coaster. Just when I think it's slowing down, I go over that hill and the rush is on. I'm doing good. Down 30 pounds. I think I've lost more inches overall. My husband is loving it!! Well I'm working the night shift and we only get a 30 minute lunch so I have to go. I will try to get on and post some more. I did update my ticker. BTW: I'm starting a fat blocker on 6/1 called chitosan. I got it from GNC. I will let you all know how it works! It's not that I can eat fatty foods but, hey I haven't tried this one yet!!!

I was hoping to feel a little more restricted since I got my first fill on 3/27 (1.2 cc), but I still feel the same. We went to Black Eyed Pea one night for take out- I ate some that night, yesterday for lunch and I will finish it today for lunch. Thats a good thing, but I feel like after I get the "Full" Feeling it doesn't last. I'm trying not to snack, but since I'm back at work I can't go and just eat. I hope this gets better. Good Luck to all.

Hello everyone - Well I don't feel anything different after my fill - I was able to get my Water down with no problem, they told me to do only liquids and I tried really I did - but I didn't wake up until 11ish, and I was told to only have liquids which I had a bottle of water on my way. I drunk a bottle after my fill to make sure it stayed down and then I came home - I had a 1/2 cup of tomatoe Soup and I was ok, but then I was hungry again. I don't know how the fill is going to affect me later so I don't want to change anything. I will be better tomorrow, I will do liquids only. Good Night all - I have to go back to work tomorrow. My vacation is over.

I feel your pain. My port site hurts also. I hope it goes away. I feel fine so I'm not going to worry about it. It really only hurts when I press or bump it.

Well I went for my 1st fill today. He said it was 1.2 cc. Hopefully that will cut down on my cravings and my snacking. I am still at same weight. I hope this fill will get me back on track. I am on liquids for 3 days. I go back to work tomorrow. I've been off since 2/27. Hope everyone is doing fine.

We ARE NOT suppose to eat bread, rice and Pasta because of the type of carbs it is, however; we had girls night out last night and we went to a mexican restaurant. I started solids on Thursday, and I ordered seafood enchiladas with rice, refried Beans and lettuce/tomatoe salad. I did eat some of all, but was not able to eat the whole thing at all. I brought more home than I ate. Now I will not have any bread, rice or pasta for awhile. We can't eat them everyday, maybe special occasions. I don't think depriving yourself from food helps you (mentally). Moderation is the key - making healthier choices, wheat noodles instead of regular. We are making a lifestyle change not a diet!!!

    UHC Choice plus-won't cover?

I started my quest on 1/20 and was banded on 3/1. I went to seminar on 1/20, then I had a consultation, and they sent insurance info, had pre-op and then surgery on 3/1.

Did you figure out your bmi yourself or did you go to a website and plug in your numbers to figure out your bmi?

    UHC Choice plus-won't cover?

pamla68: I went to the seminar on 1/20/07. I was banded on 3/1/07. In between that time I had, seminar, consultation, wait for insurance approval, pre-op and surgery. I don't know the exact dates of all. I did have to call the insurance company twice. I must say it seems like my insurance delima was very mild.

You note that your scars are smooth and FLAT, but you said you keloid. Do you mean you normally keloid when you get other scars? My port sight is about an inch and it is flat - however my other 4 scars did keloid. I don't know how to make them go flat. Does anyone have any suggestion?
