Hi guys....I guess I should update too. I am 6 days post op (surgery was pushed back to 11th). I'm doing great. I have no pain. The dr prescribed Tylenol w/ codiene (sp) but never even needed it. Each day gets better and better. I am struggling to get the 80gr of protein in. I do about 60 with the Muscle Milk Light (sucks that I can't use the straw). I can get about 48 oz of fluids in. I have a 3 year old who weighs 27lbs...and not picking her up is a bit of a struggle (in and out of the car seat, the bathtub, if she falls asleep in the car, etc). I have developed this white fur on my tongue which is disgusting. But a tongue scraper has helped. Full liquids begin tomorrow and mushies next Friday (oh how I can't wait)!!! I will make my official weigh-in days on Friday. So I will post my weight tomorrow. Toodles!!

Thanks guys. The tongue scraper has already worked a miracle. I can see the pink of my tongue. I will proudly accept this side effect of fur in exchange for a life free from this excess weight!

Hi kayfreeatlast, Congrats and good luck on your upcoming surgery. I know what you are going through in regards to your husband. My husband is being supportive only because I've made my decision and I'm not changing my mind. I hated to be so harsh, but I told him he can either get on board with my decision or sit back and watch. This train is taking off either way!! Of course he'd prefer if I lost weight without surgery. He doesn't think I need it. However, he now understands that I need his support in order to make this transformation successful (after meeting my surgeon). My brother in law is giving me a hard time. He's trying very hard to prove his point that I don't need the surgery. He told me that I was being selfish. I told him, he is right about me being selfish. For the first time in a long time, I'm putting me first. I need to take care of me in order to take care of my daughter. If that's being selfish, then so be it.

I went in this morning for my endoscopy which I assume is pretty routine. However, just as I was walking into the door of my home, I received a call from my dr. He said that the biopsy of my stomach lining tested positive for H. pylori bacteria. I now have to take this antibiotic pack for the next 14 days. Does this sound familiar to any of you?

My surgeon is also black. I am very thankful to have found him. Actually my surgeon practices with two other black doctors. They're phenomenal. I just received approval from my insurance (BCBS) and will be sleeved on March 9th. I'm quite excited but a bit nervous of the unknown (hairloss, excess skin, etc.) I too am very thankful not only for this forum but to vsg talk. I have learned so much from this site.

Lol @ loser's bench. Never imagined I'd ever want to hang out with a bunch of losers. But I do, and I'm loving it!!!!

Was just scheduled for March 9th!!! Yay!!! My dr does not require the 2 week liquid diet anymore. So I'll continue with my Muscle Milk shake in the a.m. And continue with sensible eating for lunch and dinner.

Congrats!!!! I know the feeling. I just received my approval today. I'm sooooo excited. But now....here come the nerves!!!

I AM SO EXCITED (that's why I am yelling)!!!!! I got my insurance approval today!!! Surgery will most likely be during the first or second week of March. BCBS worked way faster than I thought they would. THANK YOU JESUS!!!
