This is like watching someone else be all excited about their first child when you've had your own first child! I can feel the excitement in this thread! This board is a Godsend for us during this stage, too! It's a safe place to talk about how you're feeling. I'm smiling huge because I see how excited you are.. all of you!!!

Well, I am glad you posted this Sophia because I was starting to think so many of those who I joined this journey with are gone living their life no doubt but too busy to stop in and say hey. I think I am finally at a good spot. I went from 226.5 at my highest and 110 at my lowest (after a stomach flu). I have settled at 120 give or take a few. My personal goal was 135 but that seems to high now that I have been here for months. I still struggle with my scale and freaking OUT when it goes up, but then releived when it goes back down. I "feel" more hungry these days and crave sweets (but dont eat them). I try to eat a Jello salad I have come up with to help and sf fudge pops to help with the craving.
One of the main reasons I choose this surgery was so that I could eat anything after I got to goal. You know what I mean, it's on so many posts here. Eat anything, just smaller portions. Something happened to me. During my losing stage I decided I just want to eat what I need and not eat because it sounds good or will taste good. And I think I am still frightened that I will fall into the slippery slope and end up eating junk all the time or worse gain weight back! I eat a lot of crackers and cheese or pb but I do not eat sweets or fried foods or even anything that has more than 7 grams of sugar (not because it makes me sick, but that was my goal while losing) I know I have some issues to work on but I am so happy where I am.
    Went from a size 20 to a 4 and sometimes a 2! Size 2XL top- small.
Went from a shy, anxious, cautious stay at home (in my home) mom growing old way before my 40s to a more confident, very active, positive, president of our Christian Women's group, loving being a mommy...younger women still in her mid 30's Who can not only keep up with my Marine~ but occasionally keep him running after me!
Blessings to all you 2010s!!1 Dont disapear, I still need you guys:)

twoboysandagirl reacted to sleeve 4 me in Class Of 2010 Where Are You? And How Ya Doing?
I'm looking for those sleeved in 2010 and just wondering how you are doing?
I was sleeved August of 2010 and feeling GREAT! It blows my mind when I think about my previous peak weight of 234 and where I am today. It's surreal. My lowest weight reached is 144.7 and I continue to bounce back and forth 4-5 lbs these last 10 months in maintenance.
This year I have already completed my New Years resolution of a 5K and this is the year of exercise for me (FINALLY). I have committed to 6 days a week M-Sat (5 days at the gym and 1 day outdoor activity).
Another awesome thing, is that I have finally LET GO of that darn scale and weigh in weekly, which is a MIRACLE for me. I use to weigh in 2 to 3, and even 4 times a day.
I pray all of you are doing well

twoboysandagirl got a reaction from 2bfit in 13 Weeks,a Stall And Prevacid Side Effects :(
I have to tell you a couple of things...from my experience. You most likely feel moody because of the crazy estrogen being dumped as you burn fat. That may cause you to feel down in the dumps too. For me prilosec didnt work so I told the doctor and he changed it to Nexium. So if for some reason you arent getting relief from prilosec then change to something else. I found while losing that if I worked out too much my weight loss slowed. I think it would have picked up if I continued on...but I decided that I would back off. I continued to walk and run a little but no hard core working out and I lost steady until I hit goal at 5 months. Their has been plenty of time since goal for me to get fit and I am working on that. I am saying a little prayer that you will have a better day tomorrow! Hang in there.

Yes, I did experience hair loss...I had really thick hair prior to surgery...I would say I lost 1/2 of the volume but...not everyone does. And most importantly it is temporary. It is almost all back now and almost as healthy as before ( a little dryer). I started taking B-beautiful chewable supplements at about 5 months out. It doesnt help with Hair loss but it helps with regrowth.

When your family sits down to eat, go for a walk...get out of the house and think about what life will be like after surgery. I mean I personally had to cook for my family of 5 after surgery even when I wasnt eating. I still make them Cookies, brownies, ice cream, cakes etc but I dont eat it...It is hard to get used to this but you can. It's ok to be emotional about not having the food, it is a greiving process. Your doctor gave you guidelines you need to do what you can to follow them. I wouldnt suggest you wait until 1.5 weeks is past to do it. Do it now.

I would say that you should check with your doctor...Do you still have stitches, staples, durabond? I would say that makes a big difference . Most likely you should take it easy and just wade in the Water and splash around but swimming takes a lot of work from tummy muscles and I doubt yours are ready for a work out. I wasnt allowed any exercise other than walking until 4 weeks and then no strenious until 6 months.

I also see a dramatic difference in you in the photos...I remember when I started to see a difference in the pictures people took of me. Enjoy the ride. If you are doing all the right things(and it sounds like you are) then your scale will move...when mine slowed down I always noticed a big diffenerence in the changes is clothes or in the mirrior.

Yep! I buy mine from GNC too. They let me return what I dont like so it makes spending $28 on a shake ok because I know I will use it or bring it right back and try another. I personal like their Gold Standard 100% whey by ON. I like strawberry the best but I like the Cookies and cream too and I used the chocolate mixed with PB2 and Water instead of milk early out but I have to warn you with pb2 it is very gritty. They have a member card you can buy too. You save lots of money with it. I usually buy in bulk when they have a good sale and then they give me gold card discounts on top of that. Good luck to you.

T~ I used this site for all my support the first few weeks. I have a supportive family but I found that the people hear were easier to talk to because there was someone who felt everything I felt. I had a bit of an emotional recovery~no complications just emotional and moody. I knew it was the hormones being released from my body burning the stored fat. I had one (OK three) days when I told my husband that he forced me to have the surgery (SO NOT TRUE). I pouted and felt like my life would...well...suck and that with out food I would never have a good time again. I am now almost 5 months out and while I honestly find times it is inconvenient to eat different foods then my family I am not missing anything. I have way more fun now because I am not thinking about my big body fitting into little spaces or hiding behind my kids in pictures. Come here and post all of your thoughts and concerns and let us all help you through the rough time and then rejoice with you when you make it to the good times! And trust me they aren't far away!
    Blessings~

I take 3 viactiv plus D everyday. I also take a flinstone in the am and pm and my numbers have been perfect since surgery. My advice for Protein is GNC's 100% whey Gold Standard I like the delicious strawberry and the Cookies and cream...but I suggest that you shop some place that allows you to return what you dont like. Protein is not cheap so if you drop $30 on it you should like it or return it. GNC allows you to return anything you dont like. They have great deals online and they send me coupons almost weekly. You dont even have to print them just show it to them on your smart phone when you check out.
