Wow pip sounds like you and I have the same issue . I've had my band for 7 years with no issue however after going for a fill with a doctor who is not my regular doctor I seem to not be able to keep the restriction. Ive put on weight and feel awful, have an appt on jan 23 for a dye test. Thx for sharing as it helps to know others are in the same boat! A new up to date band would be good and I'm not worried about the surgery but the cost is going to be an issue...... Def wld reband rather than permanent options . Good luck with your recovery :-)

Hi all, I hope you've all had a great Xmas ! I would say having the band had been fantastic, I lost weight and kept it off however after a visit a few months ago a leak seems to have developed and the band won't stay full! I've put on 10kg and always hungry , it's awful. The lady that did my fill had trouble finding the port and dug around looking for quite a while.... Now it's leaking :-( real bummer for me, I feel fat and horrid

Hi All Havent been on for a while, bit slack really ha ha. Actually Ive been trying desperately to diet and lose a few kg, had my band put in 6 years ago but have just managed to put on 4kg over the summer. Well........diets have all failed and Ive put myself back on Optifast today, going to try and do it for 4 weeks and get the 4kg off! Wow AAAJJJJ youve done really well, and Gordana what a massive first week. I was wondering about getting a fill but I have trouble already eating before lunchtime, even struggle with drinks in the morning sometimes. And I really cant eat fruit, always comes back...really frustrating. Funnily enough chocolate goes down so easily, and biscuits, chips etc. Anyway, good luck to those starting the journey, its all worth it in the end! :-)

Oh no one told me no carbonated drinks ! Although I can't drink anything bubbly when I'm eating, I do enjoy a glass of champagne fairly often :-)

Oh god, Im so bad..decided to start the diet again yesterday, then someone at work brought out a chocolate mud cake...Im such a pig I cant help myself!! oink oink. I had sushi today, I really love it but it takes a long time to eat, took me an hour to eat a tray but I did enjoy it. Ive started having the Optifast shakes for breakfast, there really not too bad and I cant get food in....anyone else tried that? Off to Fiji next week, think Im going to feel like a sausage in a skin in my togs ha ha not pretty. Hope your diets are going better than mine!!

Hi All, really nice to find some kiwis in the same situation....... Funny about the flying Amourette, I flew some huge hours to London and back for a funeral last year then got on another flight to Fiji and couldnt eat for a week ha ha, wish that happened more often :-) I had my baby 3 months before my 40th too, just snuck him in before my old age hit. Does anyone drink too much wine?, it goes down way too easy and I dont think it helps!
