    Adhesions

I am 15 months post op. Doing amazing . Down a total of 123 lbs. overall feel great. Energy good. Can eat anything, working hard on keeping good habits. However.... Over the last week or so, I have had short but very painful abdominal pain. LActing at the most 2 min, usually less but enough that I start running thru my head what is my next step. It feels like something is twisted or kinked. I am able to walk it out stretch or otherwise move til it stops. It has only happened 3-4 times. I am thinking it might just be constipation so I took some miralax to move things along. Obviously I need to call my dr in the morning, but I thought I would ask here if these kinked twisted feelings could be more serious.

    Anybody use advocare spark?

I use spark and love the energy it gives me. Not so keen on the carbs it has as I usually only drink water, but I will take the energy.
  3. I joined a gym when my dr gave me approval to start working out. I try to get there 3-4 days a week. Made that goal 80%of the time due to various kid sickness, school suff etc. The scale was not moving as well as I would like it to be. My friend started taking a boot camp class and said her trainer was going to hold a class in my town. She was having a lot of progress losing weight. I decided to try the class. 2 wks in the scale is finally moving again. The trainer is Ryan Ehmann who was featured on shark tank last year. He promotes using a heart rate monitor to get you in a fat burning zone. I knew about the theory, and thought I was getting in the zone but I doubt it given how nicely the scale is moving now. For the first time in my life, I find working out to be something I look forward to.
  4. Nearly everyday, but I only record my weight once a week.
  5. Be cautious about too much stocking up. Your tastes may change. I know many have posted about buying too much protein powders and other specialized foods. I sampled a lot per-op and had a small supply of those I could tolerate. I also researched places online to buy them so if I couldn't get out to buy them I knew where I could get them. Hopefully your recovery goes really smoothly and there will not be much down time. I came home and was doing most of my normal stuff the next day. Driving kids to school, shopping etc. the one thing I was cautious of the first week was how much I lifted.
  6. I have been a stall for 2 weeks. Making me crazy, I know from reading here the scale will move again. They tell me my body will change, well finally I am seeing evidence of that. I bought a pair of jeans a few weeks ago that I couldn't zip up but was close..well today they fit. So it is true, your body can change without the scale moving.
  7. It is a huge learning process. Try room temp water, crystal light, Warm water. I had a lot of issues with nausea also but it stopped after about a week. Are you on Prilosec or similar.? It does get better
  8. Stalls suck. Period. But if you keep working the plan it will come off. Up your water.
  9. They look for reasonable expectations, are you thinking surgery will cure you of all your problems, do you understand this is a tool not a miracle,
  10. I haven't had that happen, my first instinct would be to stop using mascara and eye lash curler. Or at minimum, see if you can find a gentle mascara that has some sort of moisturizing like Almay one coat. http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=423 Good luck
  11. You are doing great. Keep working toward IMO reasonable goal. It is great you are looking at lean muscle mass vs fat, I think it is easy to overlook the fact muscle weighs more than fat.
  12. Myfitnesspal.com is great to track drinking foods and exercises. I find now at almost 4 months out, I can drink water as much as I want. I have to make a conscious effort to start drinking as soon as I get up, or I get behind.
  13. I had 3 because of nausea. I think by late afternoon I could have gone home the second night but they wanted to make sure I was going to keep fluids down.
  14. After nearly 3 weeks of not being able to get to the gym, I made it there this morning. Feeling very sore right now and I am treating that as a good thing.
