    Hi from Ireland!

Thanks a million for getting back to me Ellen was beginning to think I was talking to myself on this thread:blushing: The problem is I'm having trouble even keeping liquids down. I reckon I'm probably dehydrated, have been sipping diorlyte (excuse spelling) and thank God its stayed down so far. I was overfilled back in November and it was a nightmare and I'm starting to get headaches and I feel dreadful again which scares me as Jerome wont be back to Belfast for 3 weeks. On the plus side I've lost 8 1/2lbs since Friday:thumbup: I rang ACS and am waiting for them to get back to me. Will post when I hear anything thanks a million

    Hi from Ireland!

Hello everyone I had a 1/2 ml fill last Friday and was fine Friday, Saturday and Sunday but on Monday the band became very tight. I am very restricted at the minute and I'm just wondering has anyone else experienced this and if so how long did it last. I'm only on fluids at the minute. If it settles in a few days I'll stick it out but if not will have to have a defill again. Wonder wat the story with ACS is in a case like this with Jerome not back in the country for 3 weeks:ohmy: I cant ring ACS at the minute cause I'm in work but will do when I get home Thanks

    Hi from Ireland!

    Hi from Ireland!

Hi Penny for the moment we can only believe what we've been told which is that ACS has been sold and the new owners are taking over our aftercare. I was in Belfast on Friday for a fill with Jerome and he said he will continue to come to Belfast to look after all his patients until such time as he can come to Dublin. Its not ideal by any means I'm sure you saw my previous post a few pages back about my nightmare day but its better than nothing. To be honest at the minute I'm more concerned about what could have happened to any of us in theatre after reading the Mail on Sunday. Its very frightening to think if there was a powercut we would have been left in total darkness:scared2: I'm happy enough at the minute I got my 1/2 ml fill which has made a big difference and hopefully the weight will start shifting again. Please God I wont need another fill now, hope to get to target with this fill:thumbup: I'm in one of my positive moods today:lol::puke: Hope your all having a good day

    Hi from Ireland!

Hello everyone was in Belfast yesterday for a fill, I swore I wasn't going the whole way to Belfast after paying 10 grand but it was my only option and I needed one:huh2: Anyway it was a nightmare I decided it would be easier to drive instead of getting the train, as I'd have to make my way in and out of town etc. so I drove. It took me 2 1/2 hours to get there, the place is in the middle of nowhere. When I got there, there were about 10 other people there, it was a nightmare:ohmy: The girl working there told me there was a 45 min delay..........I ended up being there 3 hours. Then it took me 3 1/2 hours to get home with traffic:mad2: so that was a total of 9 hours just to get a bloody fill:cursing: I was so mad, after handing out 10 grand having to go through such an ordeal for a bloody fill. I met some lovely people up there were any of you there yesterday?? Not one person had a good thing to say about ACS, the amount of problems people had with bands opening, port infections etc. it was frightening:eek: There was a girl there in agony who had a port infection for 3 months and nothing was done about it, Jerome was horrified and is taking the whole band out now, the poor girl was in bits. Even with all the problems though the success stories were amazing, most lost between 6 and 7 stone:mellow: it gave me the kick up the backside I need:unsure: Jerome was in great form, looked really well tho he's lost alot of weight. He gave me 1/2 ml which hopefully will help me lose the rest of this bloody weight. So hopefully will be posting I've finally started losing some weight again Hope your all having a good day, thats some day out isnt it:ohmy:

    Hi from Ireland!

Thanks skinny God hope I havent to wait another month for a fill:eek: will give them a ring 2moro and see what they say. I read somewhere on here theres supposed to be a surgeon waiting for registration or something so hopefully thats true. Lucky you I'm eating rings round me lately. Anytime I get a fill I'm great for about a week then I can usually eat anything again, I've yet to reach that sweet spot long term. Enjoy not being able to eat much while you can and while the weights falling off:rolleyes2:

    Hi from Ireland!

Hi everyone hope you all had a lovely Easter, I'll be glad when all the eggs are gone I'm picking all day:eek: Just wondering if anyones been in touch with ACS recently, I need a fill badly, anyone know if they're still sending us to Belfast?? I seem to be going round in circles losing a few lb putting few back on, I haven't had significant weightloss since last summer so need to get my act together, swore I'd be at target weight by this summer:scared2: Its so bloody hard:unsure: I'm off this week so hope to get back walking. Hows everyone else doing

    Hi from Ireland!

Thanks Elsie:thumbup: I brought my 8 year old to the parade about 2 or 3 years ago and he spent the whole time moaning about being, cold, hungry, tired, he couldn't see:mad2:............ need I go on I swore never again! I can just imagine what the younger fella would've been like today if I'd gone:blink: My folks were saints they brought us every year without fail.......hail, rain or snow and to McDonalds for a treat afterwards:drool:

    Hi from Ireland!

Hi Holly, I wouldn't have the neck to go through with it I don't think, you see so many botch jobs:eek: I'd be afraid I'd end up looking worse than I am:scared2: Would love to get my thighs and tummy done, have to say I'm not as bad as I thought I'd be after the weightloss, thought I'd be much worse. I have loads of stretch marks on my tummy tho from the kids would love to get rid of them:blink:
  15. lil

    Hi from Ireland!

Your very brave I wouldn't have the neck to have anything else done, would love lipo though. I'm not sure if you can have more kids after having a tummy tuck, probably wouldn't be a great idea I'd say because your skin stretches so much

    Hi from Ireland!

Hi Alesha you poor thing thats terrible. I'm sure your toe will be grand again the wedding and you'll be flying around the dance floor with your new hubby:thumbup:. With regard to the eating its such hard work isnt it, we all thought this band was a mirace that would stop us eating and unfortunately it isn't as we've all discovered. When I was getting married (a long time ago now:embaressed_smile:) everyone kept telling me not to worry the weight will fall off with nerves..........as if. The one thing that kept me going was thinking of walking up the aisle with everyone staring at me and I have to say it worked. The very best of luck with it I'm sure you'll be grand. Its so hard. I have a family wedding next week and I swore a few months ago I'd have another stone off and havent lost a lb since I said it:confused2: but as my lovely hubby says it could be worse it could have been this time last year when I weighed over 3 stone heavier:scared2:

    Hi from Ireland!

Hi Gerri Yeah hopefully they've their own surgeon organised who'll come over and give us our aftercare. Its pretty worrying alright but I'm sure whoever they are they know what they're doing

    Hi from Ireland!

I know its weird alright I googled the name we were given in our letters and it just said the company was set up on 28/2/08 didnt give anything else apart from that, seems pretty strange we're told one thing and the paper says something else. Wonder will there be more in tomorrows paper. It said today Helena has retired which I doubt very much:laugh: The threads very quiet wonder where everyone is

    Hi from Ireland!

It would make sense Owenstowns a fab building and theres apartments right beside it and Fitzwilliam Square is mostly apartments around it. They will probably start building a big clinic somewhere and then turn the others into apts when the new one opens. As long as we have aftercare somewherethey can do what they like:wink_smile: Wonder what surgeon will be brought over
  20. lil

    Hi from Ireland!

Its a good one alright Holly123 it says in the Irish Mail that "the property developers intend to build Ireland's first full-service cosmetic surgery clinic". It also says that they have built nursing homes and health clinics in the UK. It'll be interesting to see what happens. Please God they'll provide a surgeon for us soon

    Hi from Ireland!

Hi Elsie I wasnt very imaginative I have to say just kind of stuck to mash with gravy and veg, homemade soup made kind of mushy, basically what you'd give to a baby starting solids

    Hi from Ireland!

Thanks skinny.... I wish it was only since December, I was banded last January....... I lost steadily right up till May or June and then was very bold with rubbish and was up and down but am stuck at the minute. Was out walking everyday aswell but then when the summer was over I stopped exercising and really noticed a difference, cant wait for the fine weather to get back out again. I've gone from size 20/22 to size 14 so I'm chuffed to bits
  23. lil

    Hi from Ireland!

Yeah definitely I'm a size 14 now but still go to pick up a size 16. I was buying shoes last night for a wedding and my sister told me she saw some lovely ones in Evans.........well it killed me having to walk into that bloody shop again...........even if I'd seen something I liked I wouldnt have bought them...........had to shop there for bloody years:scared2:
  24. lil

    Hi from Ireland!

Skinny I totally agree, the thing I love most is being able to shop in what I call "normal" shops and being able to buy clothes I actually like and not just because they fit me:blushing: I've spent so many xmas's the day before my xmas party trawling through shops trying to get something to fit me, then I'd some horrible thing and would have to do :smile2:, well no more thank God. When I was bigger I used to walk past the "skinny shops" as I called them but no more. Like you said clothes for bigger people are always so old fashioned and make you look much older than you are plus their twice the price. I cant believe how cheap Penneys is I'm addicted to the place now:drool: I feel and look much younger now that I've lost some weight, its just fantastic:thumbup: Still have a bit to go but I'm getting there slowly but surely. Loriha I agree we should keep this thread for all the nice things about being banded and PM anything we need to say about ACS in private. I've only been posting for a while but have been following your thread for a few months, I used to post alot on fathappens but Coco was telling me about your lovely thread so decided to join in. Hope you will all include me on your PM lists. Looking forward to getting to know you all better. Please God we'll all get sorted out soon and we can get back to enjoying our bands and losing the weight after all the summers only around the corner:w00t:
