PSWL Super low carb diet not working?

Also I am not a fan of not being allowed to snack if you need to. That is a good way to keep your metabolism burning steady.

PSWL Super low carb diet not working?

In my past experience with low carb I had to start off very strict to get to ketosis or I wouldn't lose at all. Of your list of foods I would try to eliminate shakes and watch mayo and cheese. Try and not skip breakfast because that is the fuel that starts the metabolism fire that burns fat. Eggs for breakfast is a great choice! Pure meat (no sauce or condiments) with a low carb vegetable is fine but make sure you are eating more meat than veggie. Also never eat a carb or veggie without meat. This is a delicate balancing act you have to maintain for weight loss. Don't get discouraged though because it is common to not lose weight and suddenly drop a lot at once. That seems to be how the low carb diet works. Hang in there!
  3. I finished up my medically supervised 6 month diet. I thought it would be long and painful but it really went pretty quick. Fo those still in the process hang in there. Don't obsess about losing weight or not losing weight. I went up and down and finished down 8 lbs. At first I struggled because I was worried about losing too much and not getting approved. I have dieted or watched what I ate my entire adult life so being afraid to lose weight was a first for me. I quit worrying about month 3 and started to lose a little then without really trying. I haven't been tempted to do a food funeral. I am so sick of feeling uncomfortable that I have actually been eating less at meal times just to get away from feeling like I am going to explode all the time. I am really looking forward to having less hormonal influence in craving foods. That and the speedy weight loss is why I chose the sleeve. Paperwork was submitted to insurance last Thursday, May 12th. They said Cigna takes 30 business days to approve. I see several people were approved sooner so I am hopeful that I am one of those people. I am mentally and physically ready to have the surgery. I have had several rather invasive surgeries before so this does not scare me in the slightest. I just want to get started on my journey to the new me. ;o)
  4. Hi I am in the fourth month of my doctor supervised diet trying to originally qualify for lapband. After seeing more and more horror stories about problems with the band I am contemplating having a sleeve instead. Are there any significant differences in the post op diet or possible side effects etc with the sleeve that you don't have with the band? I want to make sure I am completely informed when I make my final decision. Thanks!
  5. Can someone who was successfully approved after their 6 month diet tell me exactly what the doctor tracked during the diet? I am afraid my doctor is not documenting enough and I am going to go through the six months and find out I have to do it all over again. I know I am a worry wart but this is very important to me. Thanks!
  6. I am on month two of my medically supervised diet. This has been difficult for me mentally because I am teetering on the BMI of 40 ledge and don't want to lose weight and get disqualified. All of my overweight life I have been conscious of what I eat and now I feel like I am sabotaging myself by not focusing on losing weight. Weird huh?
  7. I am a federal employee and am starting the process for approval beginning with the doctor supervised diet. Right now I have NALC which uses the Cigna network to approve procedures. They require a 6 mo doctor supervised diet. It is open season right now and I can change plans to BCBS which covers the procedure and only requires a 3 mo doctor supervised diet. The health plan cover of both are comparable so I was wondering if anyone have expereience with trying to obtain approval from BCBS abd Cigna that might help me make my decision. Thanks!

    Federal employee insurance

krasc001, Thanks for your feedback on Cigna. I don't know of any secrets to federal employment. I have been with my agency 23 years and hired on after taking the old Civil Service test which they got rid of years ago. Usajobs.gov is the best site to monitor for job postings.
