chicken for chicken tacos/burritos/nachos or in a bowl with toppings
Frozen breasts/tenders (unbreaded)
2 cans diced green chilies in Mexican food aisle (they are not hot)
1 onion sliced into rings
1 tsp of garlic
2 cans chicken broth
I put these on for 6 hours. By then, the chicked would fall apart when I tried to stab them with a fork. I put the chicken in a bowl. I used a slotted spoon to scoop up the onions and chilies from the broth and dumped them in the bowl with the chicken. I then used 2 forks to shred the chicken and onions. Family had it in small flour tortillas with shredded cheddar and lettuce.
The chicken was so soft, I was thinking this would be ideal for after surgery for them and me. I can put it in a bowl with a dap of sour cream and salsa even though it was very good by itself.
I used a whole bag of frozen chicken breasts and it fed us for 3 days!

Awesome!! I need my EGD too. Hoping to have mine in early November.
So interesting how all of us are required so many different things.

Weighed not "weight". I weighed more last week. My weight today is less.

My NUT explained that the portion of the stomach that is removed is the area with the "grinders" so when we don't chew correctly, it's either very painful for a while or your body expels it by throwing up.

I start with 2 pounds of lean ground beef and I have no idea how much it yields. It fills 3/4 of a 6 cup Rubbermaid bowl. I am presleeve and have only recently purchased a food scale, so have never measured. If it is just me and the pups (2 large german shepherds) snacking on them, it lasts 2 weeks.

Oh, keep a little note book with dates, mileage, co-pays, Makes it easier to keep track of.

Keep track of your mileage to and from doctors appointment and the pharmacy. You can claim it.

CPA here...you can write off all your medical expenses if you itemize your deductions on schedule A...however this is limited to 10% of AGI. Aka not many people will qualify for this deduction
But on a positive note I was just approved for surgery tonight woohoo!!

I am preop but do have anxiety and also think too much! I don't know if losing weight in itself will help but I know losing weight will allow me to get back outdoors for a good hike on the weekend or exercising in general which greatly helps my anxiety.

I am going to be sleeved on December 2 yay me

As far as Vitamins go. I used the chewables for only a few weeks and ended up with a full jar I never opened. I did not like the taste and moved to a regular bariatric Vitamin as soon as possible.

I've already had my gallbladder removed so I will be saying hiatal hernia repair. However, having had my gallbladder removed for over a year now, it would be safe to use that excuse and say as a result your having to eat a bland diet which in turn is causing weight loss and since you were unintentionally losing weight, you thought you'd make the mist if it and up your exercise!

I am approved and scheduled for 12/16. I picked December because it works for me financially.

December 13 for me and my husband- provided preop tests are good and the insurance company approves- which they should. Nice to meet you all
