eggs would be a good addition and so many ways to make them. No oatmeal. I think the broccoli and cheese Soup has lower carbs, but check the labels. I won't have a puree stage but I think I would do scrambled eggs, Protein Shakes, sugar free pudding, egg drop soup, cottage cheese.

I'm looking at a late July/early August conversion from sleeve to bypass.

Premier Protein has a clear drink at Sam's with 20 g of Protein. Tastes like G2 Gatorade. Maybe you can get some protein in with that. Can you add Protein Powder into the things that you are currently tolerating?

I am having a revision this summer. I feel like if you've been overweight your whole life, you've probably already tried eating less. If you have a sweet tooth or a binge issue, those would also be good reasons for bypass. Even sticking to the diet, I still couldn't get below 200, so I relaxed the diet. I've gained 50 pounds.

Between May 2014 & April 2018 I lost around 145lbs. My doctors are keen to see me lose another 112lb so yes, you could say I had and still have a lot to lose. In the 3 weeks since my revision I have seen weight loss of 18lbs which to me is falling off, I am very happy with the progress.
They always told me it was a 2 stage procedure. 4 years ago I was told I would eventually have a DS, but my surgeon back then has since retired and his replacement is not a fan of the DS, in his words it is 'outdated and barbaric' and it was his preference to perform the Bypass on me. I took his advice as the expert.
I haven't regretted a single second since. I wish you the best of luck with your procedureI need to lose 100 more and will be having my revision this summer from sleeve to bypass. Had my sleeve 12/2013. I'm also worried about slower weight loss. Who knew starting at 250 lbs and BMI 41 would be considered starting at a lower weight?!

I think you would regret that. Your stomach will relax after a while and will be able to hold more. My doctor said it would never get as big as before surgery, though. I'm 4.5 years out and can eat half a sub with no room for anything else know eating and drinking). My nut said she would expect me to be able to eat that much (I thought it was a lot). I'm almost through with my preop for revision to bypass.

Sugar was my downfall. I went 9 months after my sleeve with no Desserts or added sugars, then I had a cupcake. Then I had something sweet now and then. I'm 4.5 years out and almost finished requirements for revisiin to bypass. I will not do that again.

I'm not referring to a 6 day rule. I work a 3 day work week. So I need to use 3 days of PTO first. All i know is several people at my job have had the surgery so along with my 2 charge nurses, one of whom has worked thete 20 years, I've also spoken to the people who actually went through it.
-
At my job, you have to use 1 week of PTO first and then FMLA can be used. I thought FMLA only held your job, but both of my charge nurses said if you use it for yourself, you get paid and if you use it to care for a family member then it just holds your job.

I'm 4.5 years out and still haven't had soda and I loved coke. After being off of it for any amount of time, why even try it? It's not about tolerating it, it's the expansion and possibly the calories. I still crave an ice cold coke, but I had them for 30 years, I know what it tastes like.

The sleeve isn't a pouch. You don't eat and drink at the same time. Because it fills you up but not with solids. You will be hungry again sooner. I'm 4.5 years out and still don't eat and drink at the same time and couldn't if I tried. There's no room.

Not at 6 weeks out from weight loss surgery . Portion Control is for non-surgical people who are trying to lose weight or maintain their weight. Weight loss surgery patients are supposed to be Protein, veg, then carb lifelong. I've yet to see anyone post a diet plan that included either item at 6 weeks, 3 months, 1 year out. You shouldn't even know if you can tolerate those foods yet.

For us, it was low calories forever. Even if we get down to a "normal" weight, we will never be able to eat like a naturally normal weight person and keep the weight down.

Not that a revision is a bad thing, I'm getting one, but 1900 is a lot of calories. When I was sleeved, I was told 800-1000 calories lifelong.

The doctor I was a nanny for said "rarely" could be once a week with no issues. My surgeon said take NSAIDs rarely.

You need to head to the other appropriate forums.
Go to the main page ... here = https://www.bariatricpal.com
Then click on the upper-case word FORUMS ... and, lo and behold, a menu opens with six or more choices of surgery types.
I hope you end up in the right place soon!
This is the bypass section.

To me, 1400 calories is a lot. My nutritionist said a lifelong goal of 800-1000 after sleeve. I'm going in for bypass. I lost from 315 to 210 but couldn't get below. Gave up and started gaining. I plan on sticking to Protein Shakes and Protein Drinks as long as possible time.

I recently found Premier Protein Clear. It is 20g of Protein. I got the tropical punch at Sam's. I like it a lot. It reminds of G2 Gatorade red. Many reviews complained it was too sweet. I mix it with Water.
-
When I first had the sleeve and did 2 week liquid diet, I used the Premier Protein shakes, Water, Jello. I don't think you're necessarily going to be getting full. You're just kind of surviving and doing what you need to do to get to you're surgery.

I have Aetna and just started for conversion. I was told not to gain even half an ounce from my initial weight at the first appt.

My insurance won't approve it if I am over even half a pound from my initial weight at my first appt.

To maintain, I would start increasing healthy carbs by 10 g every week to find out where your limit is between maintaining and gaining.
