I may have one too and that is definitely my story as well!

Well, I was able to move up my Upper GI (he said I could have EGD or Upper GI) so I will have upper GI and ekg Monday, and then they can schedule it. His office said they have "several" days open in December. I just want "my" date open in December! Lol.

I get all of mine at the office, no appt, just walk in. However, I do have to give my mom nightly injections (she can do it herself too) and she says the needle is so small she doesn't even feel it. Hers goes in the leg or stomach.

I was thinking of that; however, we're not supposed to use fatty meats in the dehydrator. I know if I use 80% ground beef, it doesn't dry out right. I guess the baco would be the same? You try it and tell me how it is! lol

I'm in the same boat! Anything that ends in "codone" does nothing for me. More than half of my visit with the surgeon was discussing pain. He is doing mine at the hospital instead of the surgical center so I can stay overnight and make sure my pain is controlled before coming home. He said he would send me home with whatever worked in the hospital. He said most likely Dilaudid. I had Demerol once in the past and it was magical but they don't offer that anymore (or that's what they tell me). Some on here have posted about a little ball of medicine that is closed up in your stomach that dissolves and gives localized pain control. I'm going to ask about that too! Good luck with yours!

They can cause ulcers and irritate the stomach (in anybody) and since we have such a small one after surgery, we have to be very careful with things like that. I've taken so much advil over the years for headaches, my stomach is very sensitive to them now. I now only take them in the case of an extreme headache where nothing else is helping (and I haven't been sleeved yet!)

No they can't! The great thing about secret groups is no one can see your activity. They can't see that you joined or posted or anything! I haven't told many people either (my family outside of my home) and they are on Facebook too.

Good to know from someone who literally feels my pain! Had my gallbladder removed last year (which will be sort of similar to the sleeve) and that was BAD. Also, had a tiny pimple sized basal cell carcinoma removed from my upper chest. It took 2 vials to numb it up. I had so much in me, I was shaking all over! Then that tiny thing hurt for weeks. Nonetheless, looking forward to suffering through for this surgery!! Thanks for the imput.

Thanks so much! I'm usually hard to numb and pain control is hard for me too. On the other hand, my mother shouldn't be driving but she would probably be fine driving if I'm telling her where to go. Things to think about!

They now make stand up office desks so people don't have to sit all day. Maybe you can look into the expense of that and either cover it yourself (and take it with you if you leave) or see if the company will pay for it. Is there no an HR person to help with questions concerning showers and/or bike safety?

I think it's hard for people to say of themselves. However, if you look at the big thread where people post before and after or before and during pics, most of their faces look wonderful! Suddenly their eyes and smiles are bigger (no longer smooshed with the chub)! It's at least a very different look than most bypass patient's. Maybe initially there is some deflation but I think it catches up some how. I was so happily surprised when I saw how great people's faces looked! I think the bypass patient's often look sickly and hollow due to the malabsorption. Maybe look through the galleries up at the top and see some progressions. I can't wait to have a nice big smile and pretty eyes that you can see!
