I'm nowhere near goal weight but as a professional yo yo dieter for many many years, it sounds to me like classic water weight retention. Swollen feet is a sure sign and the fact you have been eating increased amount of sodium. It's frustrating but temporary. ^^Good advice^^ and reduce your sodium intake. Good luck reaching your goal.

    Hi! What’s the process?

Welcome to the forum! I am getting close to the end of the process and each insurance company is different. My insurance requires 6 months and I am with Kaiser Washington and this was my process: - Had a provider seminar in January - Spoke with surgeon in January - Completed my lab testing/EKG in January - Schedule all my 6 nutritional visits 4 weeks apart - My EGD was in April - My psych evaluation is in May - My last nutrition class is 6/21 - hopefully I can have surgery in July or August Good luck on your journey 🥰🥰

My weight just slowed. I reached my goal & thought yay but I kept losing. So I slowly increased my calories as I was able hoping to slow it down. Some of the increased calories came as I was physically able to eat more - eventually more like a regular portion size. I also added snacks. I was still seeing my dietician so I worked through suggestions with her. I added two more serves of carbs (whole/multi grains), another serve of fruit, nuts, hummus, peanut paste, chia pudding, protein bar, etc. My dietician also suggested adding milk powder to my milk to enrich it (for my rolled oats & chia pudding but I found it too sweet). When I reached goal I was eating about 900 calories. When I finally stopped losing (about 11 months later & a further 11 odd kilos down) I was up to 1300. Now I eat about 1500 to maintain at about a kilo or so heavier weight. And yes I still snack a few times a day.

    Struggling with liquid diet

I have had my gastric sleeve surgery April 24th 2023. I am currently 6days post op. No pain, little sore. I am able to take in my 64oz of fluid (clear). And starting full liquid in 2 days, for two weeks. Im so hungry and would die for some puree. I walk as much as i can considering I dont have as much energy at the moment. Please how did you cope with the hunger while on the liquid diet? How long before puree food? Thanks for any response. I really appreciate it 🙏🙏

    Why am I so depressed

This is so hard. Please encourage your daughter to go to a doctor. There are many VERY good docs who will accept medi-caid. And there are very good mental health clinics that will do so also. You might try calling the Department of Mental Health in your state/county and getting some referrals for her. My heart goes out to you and to her. Hopefully this is a time and place that will develop into a new time and a new place for her and for you.

    Any April Surgery Dates?

My gastric bypass was performed on Tues. April 4th. The procedure lasted 4 hrs since the doc was repairing a hiatal hernia at the same time. I was 2 hrs. in recovery so my fam was starting to get worried by 6PM despite the hourly updates. No complications. Pain was minimal. No nausea, vomiting or gas pain. Dry mouth from hell. Sipped water day 1. Walked a lap and up another time to use bathroom. Surprised they didn't walk me more. b4 going home. Day 2 . Tolerated meals well. Tried a little of everything they brought me. Discharged me that afternoon. Felt more pain at home. Mostly pulling on incisions as I bent over, stood or tried turning over in bed. Sipping on prescribed Hydrocod helps for pain. Walking on my treadmill every couple hrs for 5 minutes to prevent clots. Drinking my protein drinks and water for now till appetite returns. Not weighing till after inflammation goes down. Overall...so far so good. Pain lessens each day. Praying for a speedy recovery for all of you this month!!!

    Any April Surgery Dates?

One week left for me. I’ve struggled a little with the pre-op diet the last couple of days, mostly because I can’t stomach (still) protein shakes so I’m mostly eating yogurt, one egg and bone broth. I did cheat yesterday (I was soooo hungry) and now feel really guilty. Ugh.
