    Down 50 lbs today

I hit 50# weight loss ( pre-op and post-op). I am getting closer to Wonderland! Gastric Sleeve is making the difference and making this seem doable and I feel in control for once. HW 264 ( 10/30/20) SW 235 ( 2/24/21) CW 214 ( 3/27/21) GW 130 ( TBD)

It's so easy to misread .. happy to hear you are ok My worst..duh. why did I do that.... moment to date was polishing off some left over stew ( stew was TOO textured I was only 6 weeks and I ate it normal pre surgery speed ie FAST!) I did it on auto and it sat like a brick You know how many times " mindful eating " is plugged everywhere Definitely a duh what was I thinking mo.ent for me !!! Fortunately apart from. Discomfort all was OK BUT I DID GO BACK TO WHOLE LIQUIDS AND SLOPPY PUREES FOR 2 DAYS as an apology to my poor stomach ..just in case!!!!

The only medications for me that were added were- pain medication, protonix, vitamin b-12, and iron for my post-op anemia. I didn’t have to do the heparin (to prevent blood clots) but do realize some surgeons prescribe them.

Welp, I have my surgery date. God willing, I will have my procedure on July 26, 2021. That gives me time to get ready and also have a little more tenure on my job (I just started in January). I paid my first 10% deposit today (fully-refundable as long as I give 30 days' notice of cancellation). The doctor warned me that my stomach might not be completely flat, it might retain some roundness, which made me laugh. I'm not expecting a six-pack or anything, I just want to get rid of some of this bulk! Just being able to put on a one-piece swimsuit without a skirt will be monumental!

    Excess Weight Calculation

My surgeon's office uses the weight from the first office visit. My highest weight ever is actually higher than that so when people ask me how much I've lost I tell them "It depends on what starting point you use, but it's a lot." And then I never tell them a number! From my highest weight ever I've actually lost 134 lbs or about 55% of my total weight and about 110% of my excess weight!

    MN People - Charles Svendsen

I’m going to pipe in and say that this will be my second time going through Allina. And so far both times have proven to be a nightmare in terms of communication with the care team. I was only speaking of Dr. Svedson as a surgeon. Allina as a whole sucks. I completed my pre surgical requirements mid February and they have yet to submit any of my paperwork into insurance. I have called every day and no one seems to return my calls. Very frustrating. I’m really close to pulling everything and going to another program

    Liquid Diet Shopping Done!

Liquid diet starts on Tuesday for surgery on March 30th! My fridge is now full of protein shakes and my cupboards are full of broth and jello mix! I know it’s going to be difficult, but I’m also so excited. Walking through the store today, I browsed the other foods but obviously just stuck to my shopping list and it felt so freeing. I can’t wait to have this tool to help break my dependency on food and impulses.
