    Skin Removal Recommendations

Here are few favorites: Oppenheimer, Hockstein, Earle, Zuriarrain, Hammoudeh You can check out their website, IG FB, etc for before/after pics. Miami is the center of the PS universe. If you go to Miami, I would recommend the private practices only, and stay away from the clinics!

    Pooping all the time now!

I am almost in my 6th month of post surgery for the bypass. I have noticed that my bowel movements have changed a lot since before the surgery. I used to be constipated all the time. Now I barely eat anything, and I have to go. Sometimes even in the morning when I haven't eaten anything I have to go. Has this happened to anyone? It is to the point where I can't even leave my house, because I am afraid I am going to have an accident.

Also, it was totally worth every penny. I paid 21, 800 out of pocket.. My surgery was 6 months ago. I started at 393 lbs. and a bmi of 69.9. I'm am 272 now and I think my bmi is 49.8. I still have a long way to go, but I am so happy I chose to pay out of pocket. Sent from my Nokia 7.2 using BariatricPal mobile app

@cantstop1977 I completely understand. My sleeve was on 02/02 and all the meetings and appointments did not prepare me for the gas pain. The bloating is insane, it causes chest pain, back pain, and shoulder pain. It was so bad I didnt wa t to drink anything. I will say after day 3 it does get significantly better. I find that the more I fart the more it helps, I got a little gassy day 4 and much gassier day 5. I will also add today is the first day I ate and I had 2 tbsp of Greek yogurt so that may have played a part. You can do this! It does get better! Hang tight. Tomorrow will be much better! Gas! Ugghhh just Gassyyyy!

I had the sleeve BUT I say take the farting and the pooping because the constipation is HORRIBLE if you get that. Pooping is embarrassing but a natural thing I mean lets be real, we all fart and poop. If you think gas pain is bad holy moly! I have a incredible pain tolerance and I have prayed to God to just take me at more times than I care to admit at a few points in this journey until I got the constipation under control. Before I got to eating enough calories and getting the whole exercise and fiber thing right I was bound tight and ended up in the ER thinking I was going to die. Only to find out I was not dying, just FOS, a nice medical term, FULL OF ****! LOL After two days of liquids, miralax and finally an enema (that is embarrassing) I was better, and that hasn't happened since. So take the pooing in the meantime you will appreciate this post at some point I promise This too shall pass

    Hospital stay question

Chapstick/lip balm, iPad, phone, charger, pajama bottoms to wear under my hospital gown for walking. I wore the same clothes home that I arrived in. Above is what I used.

    I am going bald!!!!!!

Yeah, just about everybody loses hair after surgery, and there's not much you can do about it. It will grow back. I have fine hair to begin with, so it was pretty noticeable when it started thinning. It has started growing back and it looks terrible because all the new hair is so much shorter than the hair that didn't fall out, but at least my scalp isn't looking so bare anymore.

See a cardiologist immediately. With complete heart block you need a pacemaker.

Just as you shed water weight during your 3 days with minimal intake, your body is re-balancing its hydration level now that you are drinking again. It may bounce around for a while before it settles down and you start seeing a steady downward trend.

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. The one thing that was never mentioned was you can get gout during the fasting before surgery, and also after. I'd say that was worse than any pain I'd ever had. After surgery, food tasted terrible. So for me, I could care less what other people were eating. The surgery also disrupts your hunger hormone. So, people that I know that had the surgery, just were not hungry. Constpation was a problem for me, but it settled after a few months. I wish you the very best on you upcoming surgery and for a smooth transition after.
