    5 years out

I have my five-year anniversary in four days!! doing well. Initially got down to into the 130s but gained 15-20 lbs in year 3 (10 of which I was OK with - with my large frame and musculature, 130s was too light for me). I stabilized at 150 for a couple of years, but last fall I was abroad for a month, then came back in time of the holidays, and then the pandemic hit, so I managed to get up to 160. I'm working on getting back down to 150 as that's where I feel best. It's happening but S-L-O-W going. Who knew how hard it would be to lose a measly 10 lbs? anyway, overall it's been a great success and I'd do it over again 1000 times... Shouldn't have waited so long to take the plunge!

    RNY Revision @ 12 Years Post-op

I am sorry you are having all these difficulties. I would imagine your BMI would be too low for approval but I am not an insurance person or a Dr. You may not get the fullness you are looking for in a 2nd surgery. If you have not read what is being said you may want to go check out some of the revision threads out there. Have you tried the 5 day reset ? Its suppose to help shrink your pouch back somewhat and get you back on track like a pre op.

    Dumping

Dumping is a syndrome that may occur following gastric bypass surgery. Often it is discussed in relation to RNY but it can occur with other bypass surgeries. Not everyone dumps. When part of the intestine is bypassed, sugar and fat are digested differently. The digestive tract can handle small amounts but if you over load your digestive tract dumping may result. Dumping may include any or all of the following in no particular order: dizziness, weakness, nausea, headache, sleepiness, foaming, vomiting, sweating, hot flashes, headache. I dumped once after sipping water immediately following a few strips of bacon. Half an hour later, the world was spinning and I was hot flashing. After forty-five minutes sitting with my head between my knees it began to pass. This was about two months post op RNY. I now place my liquids out of reach until 30 minutes after eating. I never want to experience this again.

    Losing it...Again

My advice for you and whatever it’s worth is Don’t ever let anyone make you feel like less then you are. You take care of you and F.ck everyone else and there hurtful remarks because at the end of the day we have to at least appreciate ourselves and love ourselves for who we are at any moment. No one else’s opinion matters. Not even the ones we love because sometimes they can say or do things that hurt and don’t even realize they are doing it. Stand strong! Especially when it’s hard! We are hear to listen and I won’t judge. ESPECIALLY here ya know we are all in the same boats. People that live in Glass houses should not throw stones. Chin up you got this!

EXCITED FOR YOU, MEOW!😀 You’ve got your ducks in a row, and are READY to ROLL. I initially wanted Sleeve but surgeon suggested RNY for same reason as yours, reflux. We all have a bump or two in the road, but at 11 weeks out I am THRILLED that I chose to do this and vow to overcome any obstacles I face. We’ll be here for you to cheer you on, celebrate victories, help ease concerns. June 9th will be here and gone before you know it! CONGRATULATIONS!!🎉🎊💖

As said above I'd wait 1 more week before eating. Concentrate on fluids and protein drinks. The hiccups you describe I call hiccburps and they can be loud and hurt a bit, slow down your intake. I have terrible lactose intolerance now so might be why i hated the ricotta bake, when i have dairy it is like i am having severe dumping syndrome! There is no rush to be on solids your main focus needs to be fluids and protein, so take a deep relaxing breath and let your body heal and increase solids slowly x
