Mine is a clear liquid diet for three days + milk. I'm in my second day and honestly I'm so hungry. I was losing weight prior to surgery but with the amount of milk I'm drinking I've been stuck on the same weight these 3 days. I prefer to eat a tuna salad that actually fills me up at lunch, than a carton of milk that does nothing for my appetite. But I know I have to stick with doctors' orders. But it sucks.

The Social End of WLS is wacky

I just say I decided to get healthy started eating right and working out. What I do at social functions is buy a drink ( ginger ale, wine, or grab a friend's empty beer bottle). This avoids all the do u need another one, can I get u a drink, etc... I just look at the drink and say I'm good. I did go through the are you sick ???? I love the ones that don't ask me and ask my husband if I'm okay. But look at it this way A. You must look great for so many people to make commitments B. Are you lucky so many people care about you to even notice C. After a little while the comments will stop because the new you has been seen by most people........Enjoy the compliments you worked hard for them.

It gets better—hang in there! I’ve been maintaining for 6 months and the comments have really died down. Seems like people have accepted that this is the new me. 😊

I’m on day 6 of my preop liquid diet. Things I have learned. Liquid in means liquid out. Be aware. Chicken broth makes this even worse! Don’t trust farts You’ll be tempted to cheat. Don’t do it. Find something else to distract you. Plan on hiding from people. It’s too hard to be around food. Stock up before your diet starts. It’s too are to be in the grocery store. Good luck!!!! You can do this!

I hope to hear from others too. Will you share this info? I'm looking at the least per week that we can afford to do and still pay for the payment processing each month and the fees to keep track of it all. I'm also looking at any sales tax implication, so hope to have some feedback for y'all soon!!! Wooohoooo a real LIVE online support group, accountability partners and book club dealing with the head work and behavior modification.

    Hurts to drink water

Do not take Aleve!!!! Unless your doc says SPECIFICALLY you can have it! Aleve is an NSAID and most of us (RNY OR VSG) are told no NSAIDS forever. (I do know of some exceptions but they've been rare.)

    Pre-op diet

Good luck!!!! Just think of the early jump in weight loss you will have going into surgery! It's interesting how ever doctor's pre-op diet is slightly different, some shorter or longer too!

Then I wouldn't say 100g is too much, but at 5'11" and your activity level you're probably closer to around 80-90g of protein per day. And the slim jims still have a ton of fibrous stuff. It causes your gut to have to churn and grind and that's not good. Just my 2 cents. Do you.
