You will be fine - drink drink drink that is what I did. Try to keep busy doing something so you don’t think about food.

    Weightlifting

I'm looking to start weight lifting to build muscle and cut down on skin sagginess. No idea where to start though. I'd like to work the following muscle groups, likely 2-3x weekly? Biceps, Triceps, Rhomboids, Abs, Pecs, Thighs and Calves. I have small weights (think 1-2 pounds) and a bungee type system but I'd be willing to invest in joining a gym or some free weights, I just don't know what kind of plan to follow to do this right. I currently walk 2+ miles about 3-4 times a week and do barre 2x a week.

    Im finally doing it

Hi everyone, My name is Corne and I am a 40 year old woman from South Africa. I have been struggling with my weight for about 17 years, ever since I started taking antipsychotic medication for my bipolar. - That stuff is WICKET for your weight. Anyway, it never really bothered me too much, until my health started to suffer. I developed asthma and sleep apnoea. Also, in 2017 I landed up in ICU with heart failure. And my back is literally killing me most of the time. I struggle with daily living, as even walking small distances are very difficult. I get out of breath, and I sweat a lot, which is horrible if you are female. I can't wear make up, which I love, because I sweat it off. At my heaviest I was 211kg (465 pounds) - Horrible, I know. I have had my first visit to the dietitian and surgeon and is currently on a diet to lose some weight before I can get the Roux and Y. As of today, my weight is 185kg (407 pounds) This was not easy. I have struggled with some life difficulties, like being out of a job for 9 months already and I went through a horrible break up. So in the last few months I have gone through some periods of weight loss and then gaining back again. But I hope to stick it out going forward. I see the doctor again at the end of January and I would like to lose a lot of weight before then. I guess the fact that I already weigh 26kg lighter is an indication to myself that this is indeed possible. I just need to keep it up EVERY day. Which is why I joined this community.

Great work! Turkey day seemed to coincide with starting real fat loss for me so I lost 6 pounds over the long weekend.

It is more important to get your fluids than your protein at this point. Try a different brand of shake. You can also get fairlife milk from grocery store and drink it instead of shakes if you just can’t tolerate them. I had no problem with the premier protein shakes pre op. Had my revision to rny last Friday and I am not able to keep premier protein down at all. I switched to syntrax and fairlife milk. Another thing is to make sure you are just slowly sipping your shakes. Like one ounce in 15 minutes or so. Go too fast and they will come back up due to lack of anywhere to go once your pouch is full. Hang in there and keep us posted.

Awesome! The longer you can keep this mindset during the WLM, the better in my honest opinion. I didn't want to dink around with the scenic tour of weight loss. Been there, done that, never got to goal that way.

I think you may be right. I am double checking. I may have misunderstood Clear VS Sugar -free ,low fat full liquid diet. Thanks. I would really like to have insure protein shakes first day home. Glad that I'm learning this now. 6 days to go. lol
