    What have I done?

I’m laughing at this because I saw the ads too and thought: Hell no, I’ll die. I’m SO proud of you for trying something new. You CAN do it!!

Definitely not permanent. Just have to stay true to the sleeve and consistent

    Decadent and Healthy

Today I was experimenting with my morning shake and it came out so smooth and rich, it was as sweet and decadent as any fast food shake I have ever eaten that I thought I would share . First the statistics: 295 Calories 3 Grams Fat 37 Grams Protein 27 Grams Carbs Ingredients : 1 scoop milk chocolate shake mix 1/2 cup skim milk 1/2 cup plain yogurt 1 scoop Isopure Unflavored Protein Mix and 1/2 cup Ice. Blend together in your blender. I had mine between 8 am and 10 am (it makes 16 ounces so it takes awhile to get it all down) but haven't been hungry all day. I have been sipping on the Isopure Infusions throughout the day, striving to get 8 ounces down every hour. I cannot believe how good I am feeling so soon after my surgery. I also wan ted to let you all know how glad I am that I found this website and how much I appreciate the postings from you all.

    EDG today

I checked off another requirement today!! Woot! I had an endoscopy today with my surgeon. It was rather easy but as the day has gone on my throat is getting more and more sore. Drinking lots of COLD H2O is helping. I also spoke to my patient advocate who let me know that we are a go for Dec 2019 (that’s month 6 so I was scared we wouldn’t get it in- it trying to rush the process but want to make the most of the whole “deductible” thing) Woot! I am to call in November to get a date but it’s starting to feel real!! Anyone else get giddy when they check off something on the pre-op list or am I just being a nerd? Soo ready for this to be behind me!!

    Body dysmorphia

I have body dysmorphia. Hence the whole backstory of me thinking I was gigantic at 140lbs and having lipo and then gaining 150lbs from the lipo "not working" and me shoveling food into my face because "I was fat anyways". ANYWAYS, I am basically at the weight I was when I had lipo a few years ago, and I find myself nitpicking again. I'm like "ugh, my calves are so thick and fat and ugh my inner thighs are fat". But I *know* I am not fat... I just see that little bit I can pinch and it drives me CRAZY. I'm having my skin removal in 3 months (which is actually legitimate) and I feel like it will be a temporary fix and right after I will find more things I am not happy with... and, just like the lipo, have unnecessary plastic surgeries in the attempt to achieve some misguided form of perfection. I've talked to lots of therapists and I know what "caused" the body dysmorphia, but nothing's been helpful. I am very unreceptive and argumentative to therapy; it's my pessimistic nature, lol. I bought a self-image self-help workbook and I am putting my personal trainer certification on hold until I can work out some of my self-esteem issues. I also see people out and about that are very heavy and I either a) see myself as being that size or b) get really judgmental and disgusted, even though I was JUST that size a few months ago. It makes me feel like a terrible person. Not really sure I have a point here LOL but while I *know* I've done well, I can't fully appreciate it because I still see so many imperfections. I am constantly critiquing every inch of me saying "oh, that needs to be smaller" "this needs to be toned" "I am so huge". I hope that I don't become one of those crazy people that spends 100k on plastics and ends up with a mask-face from endless Botox or something. 😖 Does anyone else struggle from body dysmorphia? How did you overcome it or if you haven't, how do you deal? How do you learn to love yourself after hating yourself since you were 8 years old?? I kinda' thought I had overcome all this, but the smaller I get... the more judgmental I am becoming of myself again. Like nothing will be good enough.

    Beginning of diet

I used Slim Fast only because my 2 week was pure shakes and chicken broth. My dr wanted me on Lower Protein so i could consume more as his max was 100 a day.. so that allowed me to have 5-6 shakes a day if i was feeling hungry. His was no food at all for the 2 weeks.

    Beginning of diet

I start the exactly same diet on Friday. Well, for a week at least. Then I have week of 5 protein drinks + 64 ounces of water every day for the 2nd week.😭 Every time I’ve had to do this type of diet, what really seems to help me is staying busy. Reading, surfing the web, anything to keep my mind off what I’m not eating. We’ll get through it! Like the saying goes, if you wanna get something, you gotta give something. Best of luck!

    I need advice

I don't have help for the current situation, but for most people, the stomach noise dies down after a while. Mine hardly ever growls now.

    Pre-Op Appointments... DONE!

Getting excited and nervous! Surgery approved and scheduled for September 4th with the possibility they may move it to the 3rd due to a cancellation. All my pre-op lab work and testing is done and without any concerns. Same for my psych eval, barium swallow, chest x-ray, EKG, and EGD. Did all my pre-op nutrition appointments (I was fast tracked, so there weren't as many as most of you had). Did the pre-op group class where they explained my pre-op diet and what to expect at the hospital and post op. Started my bariatric vitamins last week. Purchased any food/supplies that I think I might need for the first couple weeks post op (my husband even told me to get him a new bigger TV so I can have a TV in my room the first couple days lol... and he got a 65" screen out of it lol). Today I did my final pre-op weigh in and doctor visit. Saw another doc first (teaching hospital), then my real doc. Signed my surgery consent. Too my surprise, the doc also told me that it doesn't matter how much weight I lose now, I am totally approved for surgery (before I had to be careful I didn't put myself under a certain weight and disqualify myself). YAY! I also asked him about how much time I can take off work (I have 14 weeks of sick time saved up and a supportive employer- not that I actually want 14 weeks off, just didn't take all my sick time over the many years I worked there). He said a minimum of 2 weeks but up to 8 since I do have a fairly physical job. YAY! I could probably get away with going back early, but why push myself when I have the time and support? I would rather heal, adjust to my new diet(s) over the next month or so, and slowly build a new fitness routine before going back to the craziness that is work. Not sure how many weeks I will actually take off, but good to know I have options. And then finally, I went to a pre-op anesthesia appointment. Answered all of their questions and signed their consent. So... all that is left is to call and confirm the time of my surgery the afternoon before! And how did I celebrate? I got my last meal of my favorite Indian food. Yum! And my husband is TRYING to be supportive of all of this, but he really doesn't want me to have what he considers to be elective surgery. I understand where he is coming from, especially since every one of his surgeries has had some sort of complications. But my surgeries have all been routine and without complication. And I really need to improve my health and this seems to be the only way to get me there.
