Unfortunately this whole WLS thing doesn't follow a set script. The pounds don't continue to fall off at a steady pace and you won't be happy every time you step on the scale. There will be stalls, I've experienced a few and there will be times when I step on the scale and the number wasn't what I expected. The truth is, if you stick to your eating plan, proteins first, at least 64 ounces of water, get your vitamins and get some type of exercise you'll be good. Trust yourself and trust the program.

The pouch reset is bs, just keep following the plan. Track your food and liquids, weight loss is not linear, this is a long haul and get your head wrapped around that and you will be fine. I stalled for 3 months, but dropped 2 sizes in clothing. Lord it was torture, but then 12 pounds came off, the body fat distribution changed too - my stomach fat finally started going going down - yay! This journey will try your patience, but learn what works for you - you are the only one that can figure that out.

Honestly the best thing to do is trust the advice your surgeon, and nutritionist gave you. Only weigh once a week or else those numbers will hit harder. Try throwing in extra exercises. Maybe do a pouch reset.

I made it! Overnight was a little rough, nausea being the main issue. I anticipated that, it's common for me after anesthesia. I wasnt able to start drinking yesterday due to nausea but have been doing well with it today. The most pain by far is from my umbilical hernia which ended up being very involved. But now i have a cute new belly button! Should be headed home this afternoon. Let the real work begin!

When I told my older (and wiser) sister she was all for it but asked me a few questions first about it I was sure and why I thought I needed to have this surgery. When I explained that I had thought long and hard on this (about 16 years worth) she is behind me all the way. She herself had Gastric Bypass quite sometime ago and has done a great job at keeping her weight off. Now, my younger sister isn't all for it not sure why exactly but she gave her opinion and I explained why I wanted to do this. Haven't spoken to her about it since.

    24 hours post op update!

Congratulations! It does get easier as each day passes. Less discomfort and more energy. Has the nausea passed yet?

    One week before surgery!!

Prayer on the way and congratulations! Make sure you have your lap bar down because you are in for one heck of a ride!!! I am almost a year out and still can not believe how well this thing has worked and how much more energy and stamina I have. I do believe you will come out on the other side thinking this was one of the best decisions of your life!
