Well, here a few: 1) Focus on your liquid intake. Drink your Gatorade and water. You are not going to be hungry at this time. Liquids will fill you easily. 2) Make sure to set reminders to get up and walk around. (It is soo easy to stay in bed when you are in pain but it is important) 3) Hot/Warm showers will be your best friend when your incisions or stomach starts hurting. 4) Make a pillow fort on your bed. One on each side. One your lower back. One between your hands. One under your lower back. These are the main ones that I remember at this time. If you have any specific remedies you would like, let me know.

    No family support

I would never say that you don’t need a good support system. But you are strong enough to start this journey with your own goals and dreams backing you up. My family and the few friends I told were a bit negative at first, but no they were worried. I just had my surgery on 2/13 and I’m doing great and my family has been great! After a while, when they saw how dedicated I was to the program, everything was much better.

    Green Smoothies

Yes, just use a lot of veggies but not too much fruit. I love green juices with just enough apple to sweeten it up.

Go baby! Go!! LOL. I have these neat salt cellar spoons I'm gonna use (smaller than demitasse spoons), and shrimp cocktail forks. Good times! @Sosewsue61 ((hugs)) SOOOOO glad to see you hon!!! I've missed you!

Good luck. During this phase I added veggies to cream soups, extra bone broth, then strained it, the added flavor was def needed. Ricotta came the next week, be careful tastes change after surgery - at least for me. I can barely tolerate chocolate, and def not sf chocolate pudding, who knows why? And at 4 months I cannot tolerate lettuce yet, I tried it last night again and NOPE. And beef has to be super tender/moist, and chicken breast is no too - thighs are ok. Scallops and fish are fine, and at most 2 shrimp. I tried pizza once last Sunday and it's a no as well - the crust just gummed up in the sleeve.....(and then came back up).

I was on full liquids on day 3 and moved to pureed foods at around 10 days, which is when I could have ricotta. Ricotta kind falls in with yogurt so check with your plan as far as when that is OK to have. I have only used My Fitness Pal..almost continuously for the past year, and have been really pleased with it. Sorry, I wasn't super creative, it was actually nice for me to have simple choices at that stage. Lots of yogurt and soup..lol. Good luck to you!

    Valentine’s Day

We were in Arizona and I didn’t think to make dinner reservations, so we went to Waffle House. I had one-half of a cheese and eggs plate with sausage, hash browns and cinnamon raisin toast. I should’ve had a kids meal.
