Had surgery Monday and I'd love to taste real food, I just caught myself thinking how long before I can bite a chicken strip? The struggle is real

Hi there congrats. And I'm 183 from 244. It's understandable that your tummy starts to get full fast so constant sips help as you get further out you can take in more some people don't have trouble drinking for me. I'm 5 months out and a switch flicked now I can drink more . Even sucking on ice will help. set timers to remind you to drink. If you don't feel ready that's okay take your time. No rush. Little tries when you feel ready. For me puree was after 2 weeks. Realistically I wouldn't worry about loss skin right now. Loss the weight then worry you have alot to focus on which is getting to goal. To be honest I'm quite young and though I'm not at goal I have alot of lose skin. But I'd prefer lose skin to being fat. So wearing spanx. I just keep it moving lol. Good Luck Sent from my Vivo 5R using BariatricPal mobile app

Age: 19 Sleeved: October 17th 2017 SW: 297 CW: 255 GW: HEALTHY AND HAPPY. I’m almost 8 weeks post op and I’m down 42 pounds! I’m ahead of my surgeons program (at 12 weeks I should be down 50 pounds so I’m alittle ahead). I know everyone is different when it comes to this and how we use this tool but I’m just curious on other peoples experiences, how fast they lost with types of diet and exercises they do. One week and new to the site

I think what is being referred to here is Crystal Light mixed with unflavored protein powder. Here is a thread. http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/rny/4254508/Protein-Powder-add-to-Crystal-Light/

    Breaking some rules

I have pudding (sugar free) and I do have a full fluid approved jello thing in the fridge. I’ll try that. I’m just really into salt right now!

    Breaking some rules

It's understandable that you have cravings and miss chewing. Something you have done your whole life. I suggest creating a journal you can write in for times like this. So you can write your goals your wishes and so on regarding losing weight and why you committed to this challenge. I assure you when the time comes when you can eat beef jerky and so on.. it may not when interest you. Take one day at a time. And you will get there. Put the pretzel down and get a pen and paper. And write some weightloss goals and what you would reward yourself with when you achieve it ( not food related rewards) I find this very effective. Sent from my Vivo 5R using BariatricPal mobile app

    Am I eating too much?

For dinner I stick with baked fish or chicken and a serving of vegetables

Snacking can stall weight loss. Go back to basics 3 meals protein first and keep on exercising. You deserve to reach your goals! Believe in yourself and keep going. The pouch isn't broken but if u graze on carbs and junk food it will stop working as your calories add up.

    I haven't told anyone

My kids already talked me out of the surgery in 2016. Said I was taking the easy way out and that they wouldn't support me.......why have a life changing surgery when you can just do it yourself, blah blah blah..... I'm having surgery in 5 weeks.....Just my friends know and my job...... I don't need the added stress and worry.
