So excited have a surgery date!!!!

I finally have a surgery date scheduled. December 27th is my date. Yay!!!!! Been a long road trying to decide whether this was what I wanted to do or not. I've fought with being overweight my entire life and now at 49 years of age, I know what I want to do. I'm so excited, scared and nervous. I know this tool will not only help me become lighter but also healthier emotionally as well as physically. Hoping this short time period goes by quickly.

    Help me understand

Stay the course- following the diet as directed by your dietician or surgeon, and the scale will move on its own. The three week stall is just your body's way of adjusting. Too early to require changes in diet. The cool thing is that even though the scale gets stubborn at 3 or 4 weeks, your body is still transforming, for the better. If you take your waist measurements at the beginning and end of the dreaded stall, you will see a change. Your pants are going to be a little looser, despite the same wight. hang in there! We've all been there and came out great!! (I understand the frustration. My stall at 3 weeks was about a week or so).

I just say, I am following a supervised plan from my doctor - those are acquaintances that really are not close friends. I have known them a long time but I wouldn't discuss a hysterectomy with them either. I consider a lot of medical things private.

had surgery 11/10 everything went fast from the time they put me to sleep till I woke up ... once I woke up I saw my family but the pain was serious had so much pressured for the first few hours Morphin was given to ease pain and they made me get up to walk 6 times a day ... felt a little bit better yesterday but was so sleepy always sleepy .... came home today morning but the only discomfort is the my side it’s stitches it’s hurt when i try to move get up or turn over to sleep ... but I managed pillows became my best friend ... trying to get my 60-80 grams of protein water but little by little I can feel it going down my throat and stopping in my stomach sounds weird ...walking bending up and down or lifting you legs help with the gas flow or even tapping your back while drinking like burping a baby .. anybody recommends any things else for gas?? other than that recovery healthy hurts yes but little by little things better ...

Same here with the 13th. Although knowing its coming so soon makes the shakes more tolerable

The Protein Water is good though. I swear by that stuff. Coconut and Mixed Berry are my favorite flavors. I also like FairLife skim milk, which has twice the protein and fewer carbs than regular skim milk. A glass of that is also good for relieving hunger pangs between meals.

    Constant Nausia

I am 12 days post op and I have been nauseous for the past week non stop. Has anyone else experienced this or know what I can do to stop it? It's such a horrible feeling.

    PCP discouragement

I'm sorry you are dealing with this. I realized after firing my PCP of 20+ years that she had a weight bias. She never suggested i even consider this - just stressed that I wan't trying hard enough to lose weight with the various plans she recommended. My new PCP said in our first visit - I think you're a great candidate for bariatric surgery. If you have decided on Mexico, then do it. Find a new PCP for your aftercare who deals with people who have had surgery. I have no tolerance for physicians with a fat bias
