Just got back today from the beach. This is my first trip since losing 100lbs. I was sleeved 6/22/17. I in no way have a beach ready body but physically I felt great. I don't remember the last time I was able to walk miles on the beach without pain, being short of breath, or just uncomfortable. Had a great time and felt great the whole trip. Even got to enjoy some gulf seafood. So glad I had the surgery. Last pic was taken at my daughters wedding the day before our trip. So nervous I feel nauseous! LOL

Just had my first few teaspoons of custard. Went down smoothly and tasted good. Full after 4 tablespoons! My surgeon says eat anything liquid that you can get though a straw that is really runny, e.g. Custard, broth, runny yogurts, the higher in protein like Dairy is the better.

Status update: Well I just checked online with my insurance and I have been approved for both the sleeve and hernia repair . Now I am waiting on the doctor's office to call with a surgery date and all of the pre-op requirements. OMG, I had planned my timeline of an Oct. surgery and now it will be November hopefully which is causing me to re-arrange in my mind my whole recovery timeline. I wanted to be able to go to a particular NFL game in December but I may not be able to travel nor travel over seas for work in December.(bummer) I'm so ready to have this surgery so I can start the recovery process.

Not the day surgery I thought!

I am so sorry - recovery is bad enough without having to worry about what was done to you. Get a copy of your operative report and Your signed consent form. What do they say?

Am I really about to do this?

This is something that I thought about doing for a while, by a while I mean over 2 years. I have finally gotten to the point where I am now being tested for sleep apnea and NOTHING I do drops weight. So of course I just go back to eating junk. I scheduled my initial consultation with the surgeon and now that I have....I feel like the appointment is TOO FAR AWAY! How is that even possible? Has anyone else had this struggle....where you didn't want surgery.....then finally decided and wanted it done yesterday? How did you deal?

Sure thing! That's the stage I'm most worried about too, so I'll definitely be taking my own advice lol I'm thinking I'll also try some recipes I've found on various bariatric sites for the pureed/blended stage. I"ll attach a file with the ones I've found so far (also include some protein pudding recipes that I want to try) Blended_Pureed Recipes.pdf

    Pre op weight loss

I lost 20 pounds on my two week pre op. Post op is going slower but that's ok. It's not a race. I'm losing and that's what it's all about. I don't have a scale and I'm not sure I want one. When my pants get too loose. I'll go to the next size down. I get on the scale at the Dr. That's good enough for me. Oh and my surgery was Oct. 3rd I got sleeved. I did not have any pain as far as the surgery. I came home on Friday and went back to work on the following Monday. I have had back and knee pain for a very long time hoping this will help soon.

Status Updates My paperwork for the surgery has been submitted, now I 'm just waiting on approval from the insurance company. My follow up appointment for CPAP went well, I don't have to go back for another year. So now it's the wait and see game for me and now it looks like surgery will be in November (depending approval) instead of October since I still have to do the pre-op liquid diet for 10 days prior to surgery. Thanks everyone for the encouragement and listening to me rant and rave.
