    Pre op liquid diet

My doc is only making me do a 10 day liquid diet, and he says it's becuase of the diet we are restricted to. We are restricted to only 3 shake choices for the liver shrink- bariatric fusion- bipro or wegmans. Bipro or wegmans brand you have to add 5g of fiber too, and bipro is perfect for people like me who can't do aspartame or sucralose. We are allowed as much sugar fee jello, fat free broth, and sugar free drinks as we want, but are limited to one cup of caffeine a day, and none the day before surgery. We are also only allowed one 1/2 cup of nonstarchy veggies daily, so I will crunch on some carrots or toss them in broth to make soup. Sorry for the long post, just trying to help.

    Officially post op now!

Yeah thanks guys. In the 12 hours since the original post, things have improved. Still in the hospital, but pain is under control. Feeling stronger. Up and walking. Taking my tiny sips of water. Sent from my Pixel XL using BariatricPal mobile app

    RNY SURGERY

I really think it is a learning curve for sure. My taste and smell changed so much. The drinks I liked (kind of LOL) Preop I hated afterwards. I only wish I had found the un-favored GENEPRO. I love it but I wouldn't tel anyone else to use it. Always check with you tam. here are some people on here that don't like it. But for myself it is the one that doesn't have a after taste BTW Welcome you wil get a ton of informatin on here. Just take what you need and leave the rest. Congratulations on starting your amazing journey.

    one day out

Hang in there. The first week is rough, but then you're going to feel so much better! Like James said, walking helps with the gas. Nobody said you had to speed walk...but just moving a bit at a time makes a difference.

    No loss, no restriction

I was banded August 1, 2013......after 10fills and 13 months I'd finally lost my first 12lbs. So for an entire year I thought Id made a big mistake chosing lap band. But like a light switch and being filled to 8.2 in my 10cc band the weight began melting off. Only advice I have is to keep going for fills. Dont give up so easily. The band does work.
